  1. Your co-sponsor will need to fill out the I-134 just like yours. They must provide proof of employment (employer letter),the last 6 pay stubs (can be less than that, but to be safe between 4 and 6). He/She will also have to provide tax form 1040 and W2's current and at least 2 years back, a copy of the persons birth certificate or green card showing they are in the United States legally. Hope this helps :)

  2. As far as I know when you apply for a passport it should be the name that is on your birth certificate so its odd that they are different. You could go to the social security/birth cerficiate office and ask for a new birth certificate and tell them that the name is spelled incorrectly. I don't know if it would be an easy fix or not. If not then I would contact the local USCIS office and either email or phone and ask what you should do in this situation.

  3. Because she is short on the amount needed she will have to get a co-sponsor. The co-sponsor must fill out the same information and have an income that is above the poverty line for the amount of people he/she is supporting. They must also provide proof of employment, pay stubs at the very least 4 (from what I was told) and taxes from the past 3 years.

  4. The sponsorship papers are filled after the the petition for the K-1 visa has been approved. A letter will be sent to your fiance in which they will have to gather there medical papers and other items needed, you will then have to send the sponsorship forms. If you have no income you must still be the primary sponsor and can use any properties or other items as a means to show support. You may also want to get a co-sponsor to assist you if you do not have the means yet. The co-sponsor will need to have proof of employment, pay stubs and taxes for at least the past 3 years. I do not know when would be best to begin the filing of the K-1 visa, it depends. I hope this helps.

  5. As far as the religious ceremony, I would call or email the consulate/ embassy in Singapore and ask how they handle that situation. Every country seems to handle these situations differently. Since you don't have a bank account, you might want to try having a co-sponsor, if a bank account is needed for a K-3. I filed a K-1 visa and my dad was our co-sponsor and all that was needed were his taxes and pay stubs, as well as a proof of employment. We were never asked for proof of having a bank account. As far as I know if you two get married while she is on a travel visa, you can begin to fill out the K-3, however once the travel visa expires she may have to return to Singapore.I hope this helps :). Good Luck to you both!

  6. Just got a text from my fiance and he said all went well. He was given a new sealed POE and is on his way. He said he did have to wait a couple of hours, but he will tell me more about it. I will post in more detail tomorrow. I hope this helps someone out there. Apparently in Germany resealing a POE is not too stressful, you just have to make sure the consulate is open lol..

  7. Thank you payxibka for moving the post, maybe this will help me and others.

So I forgot that today is Columbus day in the United States which means that the consulate is closed. So my fiance is in Frankfurt and waiting for Tuesday, which for him is in a few hours. I will post what happens as soon as i hear any news from my fiance.

  8. Thanks for the reply :),

I understand the process of getting the POE resealed, from what I've been reading. I was wondering if anyone had the experience in Germany as far as the time process. He is really beating himself up right now since he booked his flight for two weeks from now. I'll talk to him in a couple of hours and hopefully he will be able to make it to the consulate on Monday. Right now we're just hoping that the resealing doesn't take the estimated weeks and months that we've been hearing about.

  9. According to my research online, it is fairly common for the brown envelope to get opened. Unfortunately by fiance has become the latest victim of not being careful. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with getting the information resealed in Germany. Many of the posts are related to the Philippines or UK. Any input would be appreciated. Everything else has gone smoothly for us...and it is really stressful now that everything should have be done, and we are faced with a set back.
