Thanks Navyk and Ivriesling for updating my information.

Today my husband got an email that the new card has been mailed to our address. Hopefully will get it tomorrow or Monday. I wish everyone good luck on their ROC process.

My husband got an email status update on 11/25 that the new Card production has been ordered and will be mailed within 30 days...Yayyy...We are approved. What a good news for us before Thanksgiving. Again thanks to all VJers for all the help and assistance. Hope to see more approvals for my fellow VJers.

Our case got transferred to CSC. My husband got a letter dated Sep 12. Now CSC has jurisdiction of our case.

My husband is done with biometric yesterday at Alexandria, VA office. He had appointment at 11AM. We reached at 10:40 AM and they let us in. It was kinda too busy and it took us almost 2 hrs to get out. Everything went smooth other than waiting too long. Good luck to everyone on their biometric and hope we all get the approvals soon.

Our check got cleared on 08/06 and I got my one year extension letter with NOA1 date as 08/02. Good luck to my fellow VJers with their ROC.

We sent our ROC packet to VSC today. Though our window opened on 07/25, we were waiting for the IRS Return Transcript. We kept everything ready. As soon as we got the transcript we immediately sent our packet. Can someone please add me to VSC list. Below are the list of items we sent in our packet.

• Cover Letter listing the items in the package.
• Form I-751, signed and dated.
• Personal check $590 towards filing fee and biometric services.
• Continuation sheet listing all our previous addresses.
• Copy of Permanent Resident Card (Front & Back).
Evidence of our ongoing relationship:
• Return Tax transcripts for the year 2012 and 2011 showing joint filing.
• Copy of previous Lease, Joint Utility Bills & Lease termination from our previous apartment showing joint occupancy.
• Copies of our Joint Checking Account Statements & Debit cards.
• Copy of our Joint Car Title and Registration showing joint ownership.
• Copies of our Auto Insurance Coverage and Insurance Cards on both names for our car.
• Copy of Auto Insurance Renewal reminder notice on both names showing same address.
• Copy of medical & dental benefits and cards from employer of Permanent Resident husband's employer with US Citizen spouse covered on the plan.
• Copy of Permanent Resident husband’s basic life insurance through his employer with US Citizen spouse listed as 100 percent primary beneficiary.

Thank you Sesa for sharing, and it really helped me to consider to visit their office.

This morning, I first called to Passport Seva Kendra Customer care to check about the earliest appointment. They told me that there are 3 Passport Seva Kendra in Chennai, and two of their Passport Seva Kendra do not require any appointment. All we need to fill the application one day before online, then next day, go there with appointment letter.

Two Passport Seva Kendra where appointments are not required for PCC

#1 - PSK Saligramam

#2 - PSK Tambaram

I then visited to PSK Saligraman. I had an appointment letter, but it was showing my appointment for Nov 24th for their other center, Aminjikarai. That guard questioned about this, but I said, I talked to customer care, they said that no appointment required for PPC. He then let me go inside.

Then next, 2nd guard, he made some drama, and didnt let me in, and told me to wait for 5 min. Blah blah, then I tried to call customer care directly about this #######. Somehow phone didnt get connected to customer care, waited waited for 15 min. Then when the call was connected to customer care, then that guy asked me to go inside. Then I had to hang up the call. :-) Felt relaxed.

Now time to get token. Same drama with appointment, but I had to repeat the same story. Seems like guys do not know what are the special features are available in their office. But overall, they gave me token number without any hassle.

Next got entry, then reached at Counter " A ". Guy verified the doc, took my LIVE photo, and make the application completed. But since my passport was issued from Lucknow, he said that I would get the PCC 10-15 days, if my address was from Chennai, then I could get it within same day. #######!!! But I didnt take his words much because I know, there is some other counter that I need to pass, so will see what can be quick way to get it.

Then waited 2:30 hr, then my number was called for Counter B. Since PCC & Tatkal passports required immediate verification, that is why they took much more time for waiting for PCC & Tatkal passport application. But anyway fine! - Went to Counter " B ", and it was faster, and things were done within 1 min. With no request.

Then now time to go Counter " C ". Waited around 45 min, but it didnt seem much. Just gave the file, and no question asked. Then he told me that he will call me again a while later, and he took my passport and file

Then next 15 min, they called me, and gave me PPC, and stamped the passport for PPC - USA :-)

Relaxed! - Overall it was quick!!!

There are alot of people who will try to scare you, so dont be scared, always look for the best solution, and find the solution yourself.

I shared this story, so if anyone who is looking for PPC in Chennai or wherever Passport Seva Kendra are available, they can get it within same day, even their passport is issued in same city or other city.

I had the same situation during my PCC in NVC stage. My hubby's passport was issued at Bhubaneswar RPO. But he applied and got the PCC at Bangalore RPO as he was working and living there. Please do not waste your time to get a local Police clearance as Chennai consulate only requires Passport office PCC.

Now you apply a trick here. My husband had the same situation. He applied PCC through online as you have already done. Then He took the earlist appointment that was available and you know the earlist appointment he got after one and half month. So what he did, he took the print out of the appointment letter and went to the RPO Bangalore, the security checked the appointment and did not allow him to go inside. But he told the security that I want to do some inquiry on this. The security allowed him to go in. He went to the inquiry section and told I need to apply PCC, handed over the appointment letter and took the passport to get the confirmation from the passport officer if I can apply PCC in Bangalore or not(as his passport was issued at Bhubaneswar). The passport office told yes he can apply at Bangalore and the same day they allowed him to apply.

So I would suggest you should also try this trick, if it works then good else you need to wait till your appointment date to apply PCC.

I left Houston on 10/22 night and reached Chennai today early hours. I am so glad to be with my wife after 4 months. It is already Monday night here and tomorrow is Navya's interview. We are very excited and a bit nervous and I hope the Consulate allows me in. Thanks to all at VJ that helped us in our journey thus far. The Lord willing, we will share the good news tomorrow. Regarding the Counter Passport collection at VFS. Mostly the visa won't be ready on the same day. But I strongly reccommend to wait for the next day and collect the sealed packet from VFS. The reason: For me the packet was opened. However, I put it again and it got fixed. The packets gets opened during transportation by the courier. Now I kept my fingers crossed for POE. You will get SMS on your mobile no next day by 12:30 PM. I would suggest to go and collect it from the VFS office. In that way you can check if it is properly sealed or not and raise your concerns to them if anything goes wrong.

Reached one day before the interview, stayed in a good hotel at T Nagar. That morning it was raining heavily, but fortunately the rain stopped by 10 AM. So me and my hubby started at 11:45 AM from the hotel and reached at 12:10 near the consulate gate. I was with my hubby, but wasn't allowed to go inside by the security folks. So I waited outside. As all the IV interview were scheduled at 1 PM, they will only allow to stand on queue only at 12:30. But it is always safe to reach early, that's why we reached at 12:00. So we waited half an hour outside and then at 12:30 the queue for IV Visa has started and there were around 15-20 candidates for the IV interview. Then security guys asked to keep the passport and interview letter ready. At 12:50 PM my hubby's turn came and he handed over the interview letter and passport to the lady in the security window, the lady gave him his token. This token was used for all the different interview process till the interview gets over. Then he was put into security checks. Pleasee do not carry any cell ph, CDs etc. He went inside after security check. At the first couner, another check will be done for all papers, enveopes, wallet. Then he was allowed to go to another building where actual interview will happen.

He went to that building, one person asked all the applicants to hand over the interview leter and he was also verifying about the passport size photographs if they are within 6 months or not. After waiting 15 mins his token number was displayed and he went to window 16 where one Indian lady interviewed her. Below is the conversation with the Indian lady(Pre-screening):

Who is sponsing you?

Answer: My wife

What is your wife's name?

Answer: My hubby told my name

What are you doing?

Answer: Working as xxx in yyy company

Is this the first marriage for both of you?

Answer: Yes

Give me your medical report and your passport

Handed over the medical report and passport. Took the report and returned the chest x-ray.

Have you paid the courier fees at VFS?

Answer: Yes, Here is the receipt. She told its alright. She did not take the receipt.

How did you meet each other?

Answer: It was an arranged marriage. So our first meeting was arranged by her maternal uncle. So we met at her uncle's house in presence of my parents, her mother and all the member of her uncle's family.

Can you please show me some marriage pictures?

Answer: Showed the wedding album through

Is your wife's parent related to your father?

No. This question comes to her mind as my surname and my husband's surname are same and we all belong to same district.

Thats it. She asked to sign the DS-230 part II and told to wait. The waiting period started now. He waited around 45 mins. Then one window was opened where the finger prints were taken by another lady. Then my hubby waited around 10 mins. His token number was displayed for the final interview by American CO. He was the second person to be interviewed on that day. The questions asked by the American lady are below:

Good afternoon.

CO: Can we continue the interview in English?

Answer: Yes. (They provide translators to those applicants who opt to take their interview in regional language)

CO: How did you meet?

Answer: With her parents

CO: How did her parents go to US?

Answer: Explained in detail

CO: How often you guys communicate with each other?

Answer: We speak more than one hour daily with MagicJack, Skype, Telephone. Can I show the print out of our chat logs. She said, no, its ok.

CO: Thats it. Returned all the original civil documents(Marriage and Birth certificate) then told You will receive your passport within a week.

My husband thanked her and left the window. So he was done with the interview in 10 mins. The CO was very nice lady.He was out of the consulate in 2 hours.

Then my hubby came out of consulate gate with a big smile in his face and I understood that we are approved. Thanks to Lord. Then we sent the SMS to VISA US Passport no to 57333. But it wan't ready. Still we went to VFS office and inqiured about it. But they told once it is ready they will send the SMS and can be collected otherwise they will send by courier. We got SMS next day that your passport is ready to be picked up or we will send it by courier. But we came back from chennai on that day. So waiting for the passport to be received by courier.

So finally we were done with the whole process. It would not have possible without the help of VJers. A big big thank to VJ Family. We are so happy to be a part of a this great forum.

Hello there Guys, just wanted to ask what is the wait period for Visa in New Delhi India. As I type, my wife is being interviewed and I can't go to sleep until I hear some good news. So for anyone who is from India and Got Interviewed at New Delhi Embassy, what is the wait time to get the passport back with Visa, Thanks All!

I belong to Chennai consulate. The CO told my hubby that he will get his passport within a week. We inquired at VFS Chennai on the same day of the interview and they told all the details of the courier will be SMSed to my hubby's mobile number..We are also waiting for the passport and will update you once we get any info from VFS...

Hello there Guys, just got off the phone with the Wife, the good news is finally hear and both my grandmother and wife's Visa has been approved, Yaaaa. Thank you everyone in VJ Family and also the mighty lord. I couldn't go to sleep and I told my wife that I will stay awake until I get the good news phone call.

Now its pretty much just pay the Visa Fee (Local) and my uncle will take care of that tomorrow and then it just wait for the passport to show up and I have already told my uncle and father-in-law to start to look for tickets. I will talk to my wife over the weekend and will share the interview information!

Hey NavyK, Sorry I could not reply you immediately as we were busy for interview preparation. Yeah, my hubby only paid the courier fees and collected the receipt. He did not submit anything at VFS. He will carry the VFS receipt, Medical Report and all the evidence to the interview. Definitely we will share our interview experience as soon as we are done. Good luck for your Medical.

My husband has passsed the Medical exam. Thanks to GOD.

I would like to updade you all on VFS office visit and Medical Exam at Apollo Heart Centre, Chennai.

Sept. 22, 2011:

Paid VFS courier fees 387 rupees at 8:15 AM at VFS Global Services.

My husband reached at Apollo Hospital at 9:50 AM. Handed over the interview letter to the receiptionist and allowed to wait for a while. After 10 mins the lady called him and taken the first page of the interview letter and gave him a registration form. My hubby filled it up and he was asked to give his original passport and a copy, 2 photographs and 2850 INR as cash against Physical Exam fee and asked to wait till his name is being called. This completed his registration process.

After half an hour his name was called and they sent him to 2nd floor. The nurse took his blood and then the chest x-ray and then eye test. During eye test the nurse asked him if ever he has used lens. Then she asked to clsoe one eye and read out few alphabets which are kept on a card board one and half meters away. Then he was asked to have lunch at come at 1PM for physical exam by the Physician.

My husband went out to have lunch and came back sharp at 1PM. After waiting half an hour they sent to 3rd floor. He waited there for almost 45 mins and the doctor called his name. Here are few questions asked to him by the doctor

- Have you ever been hospitaized?

- Do you take alcohol, do you smoke?

- Are you taking any medicines now?

Then asked to remove all the clothes. The doctor had checked his whole body and prescribed the vaccines(Tdap, MMR,Influenza). Then the doctor told you are done with the medical test and asked him to take the vaccines at first floor and wished him best of luck for the interview. My husband then went to the pharmacy in first floor, paid 1485 rupees for the vaccines and again went to 2nd floor where he was injected the vaccines. So he was done with the Medical exam on the first day and asked to come the next day at 3:30 PM to collect the report.

Sept. 23, 2011:

Collected his report at 3:30 PM. The medical report is given in a big sealed envelope and asked not to fold or open.

So the Medical exam cost him 4335 Rupees. And he has to stay one day in Chennai to collect the Medical report. So please prepare yourself accordingly and I wish best of luck to all the VJers who are going to have their medical exam at Apollo, Chennai

Just searching few topics on submission of Medical report to VFS and found one guy, Mohammedshoeb, who had the interview in 1st week of August. He has shared his experience. Accrording to him the pre-screener(Indian lady) took the Medical report on the day of the interview. Please check the link below:
