  1. So you did the same as me, you called the NVC to get your case no. and IV. no. after you received your NOA2 from USCIS? I have not received anything by mail or email from NVC eventhough the case and invoice has been generated. OF course, this means they have the file, right? My attorney said she may go ahead and send the papers next week even with notice from them since the case is paid. She said she will call them first to find out for sure about the notice. Do you think she should send the docuements?

  2. Called Monday and got case No. and invoice. Paid both on Tuesday, I already had an agent assigned (attorney). Today, Wednesday, status shows PAID.

It moved very quickly, now my attorney says we should wait on the NVC to send us an email prompting us to send documents just to make sure they have the file ready. I just dont want to make anymore moves without notice from NVC, I think I got it to this point pretty quickly, did I do everything right so far?

  3. Ok, thats good news, my attorney said it was ok too. The udated new is that I paid my AOS and IV bill back to back yesterday, and today my status shows paid! My attorney advised that we wait for instructions before we send in the paperwork with the receipt page. Does all this sound like its working in the correct order to you? I just dont want to jump too fast for them...it seems its going quickly

  4. I received my Noa2 finally, hard copy sent to me with date 10/29/2010 eventhough i received it in mail on 11/9/2010. My attorney called me with the good news first. Now she said we must wait for the invoice. I called the NVC and spoke with an operater, and I asked if I had a case no. yet and they said yes, they gave it to me and said I must wait 4-6 weeks before they send out the invoice to my attorney they have on file. Can someone tell me at what stage Im at in this process since I already have an agent assigned up front and a case#? Is there anyway to speed up the process from here and not wait 4-6 weeks more?

  5. I called my congressmans office too last week because we are also past the normal processing time "5 months", We are just at the 6 month mark and our case had not been touched or updated. I thought the same as you, it might be lost?? First, I spoke with my attorney and they put in a service request 2 weeks ago and was informed we must wait at least 30 days for a response, my attorneys office also told me this is not unusual for this amount of time to pass and that the USCIS could have had an influx of petitions and everything slows down. My immigration attorney is probably the best one that exist for this, he was president of AILA (Amer.immig.lawyers Assoc) look it up , its a big deal, and he's helped many people. After waiting almost 2 weeks I couldn't stand not seeing an update on my case, so I called my congressmans office and they referred me to the person in charge of immigration. I was told to fax a release form so they could give it to the lady in charge. I asked if I could personally bring it to her, and they said yes. The next day I went into the office and met with her and told her my story. She was very genuine and helpful, plus now she had a face to go with the paper. I have to say, two days later my case was updated 11/4 and again on 11/5. Something must have been done, and I just feel that our petitions are backlogged. I haven't received a decision yet, but at least I know its not lost and its being processed. So please, use your resouces and don't give up. Don't wait on a call back, go to their office, make as much happen as you have in your power. Good luck and sorry for the long explanation, but I hope it helps you.

  6. What is the difference between an expedite and congressional assistance? Can a petition be expedited if it is beyond the normal processing time?

My petition will be 5 months old since NOA1 on November 2.Then it will be beyond the normal processing time. What options will I have then?

My 5 month was up on Oct 7th, I am now into my 6th month with no NOA2. I went to my congressmans office yesterday, they are doing a congressionl inquiry, this will give me an update in 10 days. You can only expedite in emergency situations and other gov.reasons, they list this on the USCIS website. My advice is for you to wait 2 weeks more and then either call the USCIS and put in a service request with them yourself and wait 30 days for a response or go directly to your congressmans office and get an update in 10 days...call your congressmans office first so they can advise you.

  7. Im a May filer for i130 spouse and no NOA2 yet, so I personally went to my congressmans office yesterday so they would have a face with the paper and was given a consent form to fill out so they could inquire on my status. I asked the same question, "how much info can you get verses what I get by inquiring?" I was told with a congressional inquiry the USCIS will give a case status update and the what is the delay within 10 days....better than waiting 30 days with a regular inquiry by me. I have also been told by my attorney that going beyond the 5 month timeframe is not unusual especially if they had an increase in the amount of petitions, which seems to be the case.
