  2. Having a baby can mean one of three things:

    1) Forgot to use birth control

    2) Ignorant of overpopulation and the fact that raising a child costs about $250,000

    3) Aware of the fact that raising a child costs about $250,000 but wealthy enough to make one anyway.

None of these is really evidence of a bona fide relationship. Giving one of the kidneys to the spouse would qualify though . . .

I'd say baby too. I'd never want my spouse to have a kidney failure. That sucks. :crying::crying:

  3. I wanted one but my husband is paranoid its his first, my 5th baby but he is scared. If we had a birthing centre I would of done that with a midwife in a heart beat. It would of been more comfortable for my husband too. I would have a midwife now if they had privileges in hospitals here. Arkansas is a bit behind. A friend loved her home birth and wished she did it with her first.

As for home births you need to make sure you are fully for it after all its your body not his. Look up some midwives and do your research, you will also have many ppl in general try to talk you out of it, so if you decide that is what you want you may want to tell just a select few. Also if you develop any thing that can complicate a home birth the Midwife would send you to an OB or they may have an OB in their office they use.

That shows he's a very caring man and is concerned about your health too.

  4. Is it weird that my husband & I do not like the same kind of movies. He's more into sci-fi movies. He will never want to watch any situational comedies. He keeps telling me it makes him uncomfortable.

  5. Is home birth safe enough? I know it's a lot cheaper. My husband supports home birth. He's against the idea of hospital births. Where did you have your baby? Please comment. I like hospital birth better.

  6. I found a job that does not pay much. It pays minimum, plus the employer wants a 2-year commitment from me in writing. This part sounds pretty creepy to me. I know Texas is an employment at will state. Is such a contract enforceable? I know I can do way better than this but not having a job for so long is quite frustrating. Please advice. Should I take the offer or no? btw, I am in Austin,TX. :help:

  7. Ok...SO we finally closed on the home last friday. We are very excited to start our new life in this house even if we haven't moved yet, we would like to paint first, since we already payd our rent this month might as well use it, right?

Our short sale took 3 months, so i am very pleased even if there were many things that didn't go the way they should have been, but looking at the big picture it's worth it!

The house needs a lot of paint as we have purple and hot pink and all sorts of interesting colors in it, but unfortunately hiring people to paint is very expensive and i wish we could do it, but this house has high ceilings, and a lot of crown molding and i am afraid it will look bad if we do it ourselves since we have never done this before...

Yesterday we got a phone call from a guy who was standing in front of our house aparently to give us a deck estimate(????)..we were 30 min away when he called, so we had to turn around and go back to the house as we didn't know what is going on.

SOO..this guy came to give us a estimate on a deck(but we never called anyone for a deck)so my hubby asked him if they do windows(at least we did not turn around for nothing) as we also need to replace windows so he started his almost 2 hrs pitch  for a super expensive window..me and my husband we kept on interupting him and teling him we are in a hurry and not looking to replace the 2 windows in the house with something very expensive as it makes no sense especially because all the other windows in the house are not high quality windows...but he kept going on and on..it was almost like a time share presentation..it was horrible! 2 hours of my life i will never get back! He was a good sales person but he just didn't know when to stop, i almost felt like telling him to get out...The 2 windows by the way were 2k!!

Ok...so i am not sure what happened here, someone must have gave our information away, because we never called anyone for a deck, and the only people who were supose to come to the house are lowe's. This is very shady thing to do, pretend we called and set an appintment and then try to sell me a window for 2 hours...

Anyway...we did got the house, and hopefully we will live in it till we are very very old. our realtor told us if we pay twice a month on our mortgage(half and half) that will reduce our 30 years to 23 years. Is that true?

Owning a home is expensive but renting is not a soultion either, with more and more people renting- rent prices went up, and what you do is basically are throwing money out the window. Our rent got 810/month for one bdr apartment, so i am happy we got the house.

All in all it buying a home is a pain, looking for homes was the most fun, but everything else was just not fun at all. I'm sure every experience is different, some people are lucky and they get the best realtor, and that is also improving your buying experience.

I wish you all that are still looking for a home or thinking about buying a home good luck, and keep your eyes open at all times! Happy shopping!

COngratulations! Owning property is a great feeling. I have a beautiful apt back home in India. Would love to own a house here, in America.

  8. He's so supportive in everything, has a lot of patience and never gets mad at me. Feels like he's specially made for me. I really love him. It feels like the bond is getting stronger with every passing day and I am absolutely in love with him.:dance::dance::dance::dance: Thank you, god.

  9. I signed up for bookkeeping series at a community college. The series has 6 courses and will be completed in little over 2 months.

The courses are no credit and I'll be given a certificate of completion. How are these courses from an employer's perspective. Wondering if I'll be able to find an entry-level bookkeeping job. Experts please chime in. Thanks.

Here's what will be taught: accounting 1& 2, financial statements analysis, quickbooks beginners and intermediate, business tax forms

  10. I have used and taught QB for many years - knowing QB will help you get a job, however a certificate from this place

won't help anymore than learning it somewhere else or on your own. First, get a copy of the most up-to-date version and use the tutorial and online tools from Intuit. In terms of taking a course, it depends on where your accounting skills are at - do you know bookkeeping now?

Yes, I took a lot of accounting classes back home in India. I know how to write journal entries. I know what financial reports are. I know the accounting equation, the rules of debit and credit. I do not have any work experience though. I really want to do something in accounting. Enrolling in a Quickbooks class will help me find something? ann and aties, do you teach any classes online? I'll be more than happy to enroll.
