Thank you ALL for your answers and suggestions. Very very helpful everyone. THANKS! I don't know if this next one we'll re-do the K1 Fiance visa (this is what we tried first - his interview was in July of this year - 2011), or if we might just go for the gusto and get married there! Exciting possibilities!!! We have a lot of red flags in our situation unfortunately, and Casa I'm sure looks at them all, shakes their head no, and denies before the interview has even begun. I will look about getting the report via the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). I really appreciate everybody's input. Good luck to you all, and to me and Mohamed this time around Love will prevail, I'm certain of that!

Hi all, wondering if any of you know the procedure(s) to try to find out reasons why the visa wasn't issued. Is there a way that I can get any notations/reports/etc. why my Moroccan fiance did not get his visa, and why we were never given any paper at the end of the interview? I will be going back to see him soon and we will be filing from scratch again. It would be nice to know why we were denied in the first place, so we can be better prepared our second attempt. Thanks for your input everyone! p.s. His interview was in July in Casa, and no paper was issued or given to him and he was not given visa. Last month I received a notice in the mail that our petition has now expired.

Hi,
Thank you for the positive post. Good luck getting through your illness and soon feeling much better.
My relationship also has sooooo many red flags, but I feel confident my fiance and I have forged a strong union and I look forward to the day too when we are living together on the same continent
Something positive - I've gone through quite a few stages since his interview and recent expiration of our K1 visa petition. But soon I will be able to visit my fiance again and am really looking forward to that. It's been way way too long. Although I would have much preferred he and I living together and being happily married by now, this process has strengthened our resolve and made our relationship even more solid. And that's always a plus!
I like this positive post idea! Thanks for thinking of this, and for posting.
Whatever it is negative in your life right now, I hope you find your way through it and have less of that negative, and good can come from it, or soon follow on its heels. That goes for all of us.

First off - congratulations and it's wonderful to hear your good news, great love story too! I really appreciate your stopping in and giving us still in the initial phases some insight into what we may expect in the days to come. Your post was really welcome and so helpful. Thanks for sharing your story, and I wish you and your husband many many years of happiness and children }

Thank you everyone. I've sent email(s) in to the Consulate and no reply still. Tried to get through to the Visa people there and as far as I can see it's impossible and just takes your money every time you get through to the recording Best wishes to everyone! This can be a very long, very costly process. But - we must keep moving forward to be with the ones we love!

Hi all,
My fiance was told it was a denial at his interview yesterday at Casa. I asked him if they gave him any paper and he told me no. All they gave him was the photographs back he'd taken with him to the interview. Has anyone heard of this before? Does anyone know what it means? I'm puzzled. And we don't know why he was denied. He was just told our case was going back to USCIS .......... hmmm! Thanks everyone

Hi, I wanted to wish you two much success! My fiance's going to have his interview on Monday. We've been told he should stay calm, speak slowly, look directly into the CO's eyes, and not just answer yes or no to questions, but add on a little bit here and there to let them see he knows what he's talking about. Also, it should not sound rehearsed or memorized, but more conversational. If he can establish a rapport with the CO, of course that's the best. Good luck to you both!

That is beyond fantastic. Many congratulations. So much difficulties being approved at Casa, so good going you two. I wish you a safe flight and a happy future TOGETHER!

Hey dont make fun of Lovemymohammed lol we both need to know what should we put. btw sorry i posted the same question as her without reading the postal first.
YEAH! so THERE. nyah nyah LOL just having fun. Great minds think alike, right, abdelnish?! ok so our great minds have a few questions ......... ha ha. Thanks everyone. all input appreciated! without visajourney and people willing to give their help, this would be one heckuva crazy process - and I probably would have hired a lawyer (and been $3,000 poorer) just out of sheer terror! Thanks everyone

Laughing with us! I know I know ..... I just couldn't wrap myself around the idea of it. Thank you Stu for your help ... but it looks like the Consulate in Morocco actually is asking for the I-864 at the K1 interview. Go figure ....... so YES. I filled out both and sent both!!! Stu, yeah ....... sigh ....... it' high fraud alright. Not only that, but the city my guy's from in particular is one of the highest. Ugh. Being there..... they'd have to take his word for it, cuz in Casablanca the fiance(e) isn't even allowed inside the building for the interview. Good luck for those of us still waiting .... and for those of you couples who've MADE IT. Hooray hooray what a victory!!! Good job

Hazel, thanks very much for your great info. Good question Kristen. I had no idea the ballpark $$$ for translations in maroc.
-
It confused me too because my fiance is NOT my relative yet! This form is really intended (originally) I believe, for use AFTER marriage. What I did was hand write:
* (fiance). I put this next to the first option of "spouse". I hope it'll do! I mean, he's not my relative yet, right?! Good luck. These forms make me second guess myself. Some questions just don't fit!

Another question .... my fiance is filling out his DS-230 and for Question 33 about educational institutions, I'm assuming they only want high school and above listed?
Or should he even list his high school? Thanks again guys. I hope you all are coming along ........ finding your answers! *smile*

Hello everyone! Just wondering if any of you have used translators in Rabat? My fiance plans to have his arabic documents translated there, and would like recommendation(s). Do you know of any good/inexpensive translators in Rabat? Thanks so much

Immediate help please! I have heard that Form I-864 Affidavit of Support is required for K1-Fiance Visa (sending it into my fiance in Morocco for his upcoming interview). Part 1 already has me stumped because he fits none of the categories. He's not my relative - he's my fiance. HELP!!!! I have to get this package out ASAP and this has me baffled!
-
My mind has gone numb. Please help! I will be sending my fiance the copy of the first package we sent in initially, petitioning for the K1 Fiance visa. Since I already sent the original signed G-325A, I send my fiance the photocopy, correct? I mean, they don't expect me to print out and sign another (real ink, as opposed to photocopy) do they?
This may sound like a dumb question, but I'm trying to avoid doing something dumb that would only hurt our cause. I can't think anymore LOL. THANKS guys for your input! I will send original photos, ticket stubs, things that I never sent in as originals in the first packet, but I'm going bonkers on the G-325A..... help me please! LOL

Hi all, my fiance's interview is coming up in Casablanca. I think he needs only 5 more passport-size photos - 3 for the medical exam (?) and 2 for form DS-156 (because they require 2 of that form - so 1 photo per form). Is this right? THANKS!
-
Thanks so much for your input. I am going to include it now, no doubt! Better safe than sorry YES!!

Hi, I'm gathering/filling out forms to send my Moroccan fiance for his interview (will be in 3 weeks). I am confused about form I-864. From what I have read on the official government website, the I-864 is not needed at this point. It is submitted after the interview and K1-Fiance Visa approval, correct? Some have said send both forms, better safe than sorry. What is everyone's experience/knowledge of this? THANK YOU all!

Things are a lot less expensive in Morocco than in the USA in general, which is great. Some wonderful tips I heard were to bring lots of Wet Wipes type moistened towlettes, and plenty of ziploc sandwich baggies for taking fresh wipes with you, and disposing of used ones. Many Moroccan homes don't have a traditional toilette, but rather a hole in the ground and no toilet paper to be found!
I didn't take much money with me. Instead I used ATM's as someone else mentioned with no problem, but I did have to speak with customer service at my bank (B of A) and tell them I'd be traveling to Morocco between such-and-such dates, and to please ensure my account would be "ok'd" for using ATM's with my BofA card while traveling ... I've had 2 1/2 hour connections too, mid-journey, and so far so good.... I don't have advice if you miss connecting flight. anyone???
Washing - my fiance's family has a washing machine that's a little tedious/labor-intensive compared to ours. They have to hook it up to the kitchen sink and manually bail out the water at the end of the cycle, I think it was. Then hang clothing outside on a line to dry.
Have a wonderful time!
