  1. Thank you for your replies. We do have a BGT number, we received it with the NOA2 letter. We do not have an appointment listed yet on the consular appointment page. I am hoping we will have an appointment listed on May 15th. Just wondering what the current trends for the Consulate in Bogota are as far as how far in advance one must wait for an appointment.

    Thank you!

  2. Hello all. There is a light at the end of the tunnel I think. It is very faint, but it is there.

My fiance and I are waiting for the date of the interview. I have already made my flight arrangements to arrive in Colombia next week, May 5th. Does anyone know how long it takes to get an interview in Bogota? My fiance received a letter informing him that they received the return of packet number 3. They said the interview will be scheduled in 3 weeks. My question is will the interview be scheduled in June or later? Also how late in June? They received the return of packet #3 April 13th.

Thank you for any information. This waiting is a bear.

  3. It going on to 4 months for the NOA2. Twice now, I have gone to Colombia to be with him. From all I have read about the huge wait times, I am thinking of moving to Colombia to be with mi hombre until the visa is approved...But getting a job in Colombia is the big issue for me. My Spanish comprehension is minimal. This is a test of love. But I am not interested in being tested, I just want the visa in hand NOW so we can start our lives together.

I keep trying to think up strategies to help the time pass faster. But it is difficult to devise a strategy for this when you don't even really know what the wait time is. Visajourney has an estimate of 87 days to NOA2 on their table of wait times. I think the table might be a bit outdated.

What is the deal with waiting 6 months just to receive a %^&* REF? To me this just seems like an abusive relationship between petitioners and the US government. Can lawyers really speed up the bureaucracy? Somehow I think they too are blowing smoke up our butts.

Good Luck to all of us!!!!!

  4. Thank you for your help! One bank called me today to tell me they have a signed letter for me in the mail!!! I worry way too much. I am worried that my letters will have dates that are too old to make the consulate happy. But I want to gather this paperwork now, so that later when it is needed, i will not have to wait long and be panicked about it if there is a delay.

I figure I will flood them with paperwork, that way all bases are covered.

    Thank you again!

  5. Hello Everybody,

I have not received the NOA2 yet for my petition, but I am getting the supporting documents together for the I-134, Affidavit of Support. Does anyone know if monthly bank statements are enough to prove bank balances? I called the bank today, they could not understand why a simple monthly statement would not be enough.

Second question, because I have not received NOA2 yet, is to too soon be be getting these statements together? How recient do these documents need to be?

Because I am self-employed, I need to show my tax returns. Tax returns are lots of paper, or mine are anyway. Can I just send in the 1040 form or do I need to send all 20 pages of all my returns for the last 3 years?

    Thank you!
