  2. I was honestly insulted by the promos for this show. Colin and I met unconventionally, sure. But we have an actual, real relationship. The K-1 was not for us to decide if it was going to work between us. It was the first step in bringing him here so we could spend the rest of our lives together. We have worked very hard to be together. Gone through many tears, frustrations, stomach ulcers and wonderfully happy times to get where we are. I don't like the thought of them trivializing what we have all gone through to be where we are.

It isn't all about lingerie in the kitchen and riding a mechanical bull. It's about working 2 jobs to make enough to support your spouse (just in case), being alone on birthday's and special occasions waiting..., endless mountains of paperwork, thousands of dollars, millions of tears (both happy and sad), RFE's, denials, approvals, interviews, biometric appointments. And in the end... it's about two people who are determined to cut the red tape and prove to the world that they want to spend the rest of their lives driving each other crazy rolleyes.gif

  3. Include more statements throughout the 2 years. Why give them reason to delay/deny your application due to little evidence?

No taxes. Explain in a cover letter.

    No mortgage. Ditto.

No joint credit cards. You know the drill.

You have just a bit to show the co-mingling of funds and some superficial evidence. Beef it up and you should be fine. smile.png Good luck!

Thank you very much! I totally forgot about the cell phone bill too!

I really appreciate your help. I loaded about 11 bank statements, a few more vet bills, cell phone bills, car insurance bills, etc.

I'm also going to get a copy of my emergency form from work.

It's been a couple of years since I've been here, I forgot how helpful everyone is.

thank you... I really appreciate your help

  4. We have:

    sworn affidavits

bank statements (4 scattered throughout the past 2 years)

pictures of us together, him with my kids, all of us on vacation and at various functions throughout the past 2 years

    cards

screen shots of Facebook on our anniversary with posts and stuff from people

Colin listed as my beneficiary on my work disability insurance

copy of a bill from the veterinarian with both our names (2 from several months apart)

Health insurance statement with both our names - this years and last years

    car insurance cards and statements

We don't file joint taxes because I own a business and do my business tax separately

We don't have a lease or mortgage because we live in my parents second home

Utilities are in my name because I set them up before he even moved here

Hopefully it will be enough. Worst case scenario, we have to go to court. When they see an emotional sobbing mess of a woman terrified to lose her husband, they will see that we are really married.

I keep saying that they just need to come over for dinner one night - there would be no doubt in their minds then

  5. Yes I'm in a similar situation where the EAD was just approved and is currently being sent, but the AOS was transferred to California a few weeks ago. I'm getting mixed information about how long the processing in CSC might take. For example from the timeline it looks like yours was approved a few months after being transferred, but I saw another thread of people who hadn't heard back from CSC since October/November 2011, and of course the website says 2007! Anyone know what to expect from CSC for an AOS case coming in on a fiance visa and getting married? Just asking mostly because we want to travel this summer and we're trying to figure out if my husband will have the green card to be able to do so. Thanks!

We were transferred to the CSC in mid-December. We had a minor RFE in March and received notification yesterday that his card has been ordered. So basically it took almost exactly 4 months from time of transfer to approval. Without the RFE it would have been about 3 1/2 months. From what I have seen, our was fairly quick. I know of some people transferred in October that haven't heard anything yet.

  6. This is interesting because we were there just there hours ago and nothing was mentioned about a flu shot.

Are you sure a Flu shot is required?

The reason I ask is because we went straight from the CS to mail in the forms.

They told us that if we had come on April 1st we wouldn't have needed one but they would not sign our paperwork until we went to the drugstore and got a shot, then came back with the proof.

  7. Just a side note. Flu shots are required between Oct 1 and Mar 31. A real stickler of a CS might say you need a flu shot this week. If you wait until next week, he can tick off "not flu season" and the shot is waived.

Yep... you are right. When we went for the medical today they said he had to get a flu shot. They also made him get a tetanus shot because they didn't have a copy of his records from when he was a child. Honestly, we just wanted it done so we didn't argue too much. We got the medical done, now we are having issues with a change of address that apparently they didn't record.

  8. Ok.... We filed for the AOS in October. We moved at the end of January. At that time we changed our address by phone, online and by mail in form. Apparently they didn't get the change of address because they sent our RFE to our old address. We had to get a new medical filled out. Of course, it has our new address on it. Before sending it in, we wanted to check to make sure it had been changed with USCIS. When we called they said they can't give personal information over the phone and we have to make an appointment with our local office to do it in person.

Can all of this be really that difficult??? Why can't they just verify a change of address over the phone? Does anyone have any advice? Anyone been through this? I really don't want to take another day off of work just to go down there and make sure our address was changed. But then again, I don't want to risk a denial or another RFE because the address on the medical doesn't match the address they have on file.

Seriously..... can this all be done now?????

  9. Everything replied to you so far is correct, but out of curiousity look at your DS-3025. Is there no VH written in the sixth column beside Varicella? The Knightsbridge people don't usually make that mistake. If they left that off, then the RFE is valid because there is no way to waive the varicella shot unless Knightsbridge signed off that he had "varicella history" indicated by VH written in that column.

The line for Varicella is completely blank all the way across. Ugh. Who knew that a simple check mark or two letters (VH) being omitted could cause such problems.

I've got some more numbers for CS's to call and see if we can avoid having the entire medical redone.

    Thanks so much

  10. Thanks so much!

I just got off the phone with a CS who insisted that Colin need the entire medical done again, x-ray, bloodwork, everything. UGH!! They said they cannot take "our word" that it was done in London.

    Our form says:

The following age appropriate vaccinations are required:

    Varicella

New Form I-693: The applicant is required to submit a new Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, that is properly completed and signed. You do not need another medical examination, but you will need to complete the vaccination section of the form I-693. The form must be completed by a physician who on the list of Civil Surgeons approved by the USCIS..........

I explained several times what the form said the to lady on the phone but she insisted that he need an entire new medical done. Was she correct or just trying to get a lot of money out of us? She quoted us $450.00 for the entire medical.

    Thanks again

  11. The doctor should have marked "varicella history" not "age inappropriate." He doesn't need the vaccine but he needs a Civil Surgeon to fill out the supplement and correctly sign off that Colin has complied with the vaccination requirements. The doctor in London did it wrong, because varicella is age appropriate if he had no history of the disease.

Thanks for the response. So would you suggest we go to a civil surgeon here and have him/her fill out the form again and resubmit it? Hopefully that won't cost us a fortune. It does state on the RFE that he does not need another medical. I'm assuming that means we were lucky and the package found it's way?

Again... thank you for all your kind responses and help. It's much appreciated and has put my mind at ease several times.

  12. Hello

We just got an RFE for vaccines. When Colin had his medical done in London they asked if he had chicken pox when he was young and he did so they didn't give him the vaccine. They marked on his medical that it wasn't "age appropriate". Now we get an RFE stating that he needs the vaccine. Why is he getting a vaccine if he already had chicken pox when he was young? Does this make any sense? Am I missing something?

    Thanks

  13. We FINALLY got the RFE paperwork. They sent it to our old address even though we changed it on the phone and by mail in January. Oh well... at least it arrived.

And it's for the medical. Apparently he needs more shots. I feel like I've got to take a new puppy for his shots. I'm thankful it's not for my income or needing a co-sponsor. BUT... there is always a chance that they send another RFE for that so I'm not counting my chickens until they hatch a green card.

  14. I am sorry to hear you haven't received the notice in the mail yet. I know how sick you must feel - I got so upset thinking about the "what ifs" yesterday that I threw up and was dizzy and shaking. It's hard to concentrate on anything else. I feel like our life is in limbo until we have a decision. All I can say is, I am here if you ever need to talk, and hopefully you will receive word soon and it will be something very simple and easily fixable. They say to think good thoughts, but I know how hard it is - I keep envisioning the worst horrors - but I will try to keep positive for both you and myself!!!

That is incredibly sweet, thank you very much. I was just talking to Colin about how no one thought we could do this and how everyone said it wouldn't work. We've come this far and proved so many people wrong. I can't let the non-believers win this one. We'll make it. And I think we all deserve a nice relaxing vacation afterwards!

  15. Monyfer... Hi. No, we haven't gotten anything in the mail yet. I tell you, I have literally been sick to my stomach for a week now. The absolute sheer terror of all this is nothing like I've felt before. It's taking a definite toll on my health. We've got a co-sponsor lined up just in case. I've gone over and over and over the paperwork we sent in searching for issues too. We just need this to be over with so we can move on. My husband wants his wife back. He doesn't know what to do with this person who doesn't eat or sleep and constantly paces.

foreverwaiting... CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is wonderful news! It's been such a long road for you. We'll see you again in a couple years :)

  16. march 1 -uscis received our aos

    march 15 -rfe

waiting for the notice in the box, dont know yet what he rfe is about

    no biometric appointment yet

    my guess for my rfe:

    > medical -i did not send I-693 just included my DS-3025 coz it says "incomplete but eligible for blanket waiver"

    >I-864 -i only send W-2 of my husband for the year 2011 and his paystubs from december to february, W-2's and 1040's for the year 2010, 2009 and 2008

i hope its just about the tax coz i already requested transcripts from IRS and have it onhand and ready to send.

are there any RFE with 2 issues in one letter?

I have heard of people getting multiple RFE's on one letter... I'm really hoping that isn't the case for us. I hate this waiting.
