So today I called uscis and they transfer me to the next level of customer service. He looked up my parent case and it said immigration at JFK airport just clock in my parent case on December 2 so I hope Ssn and welcome letter coming by x mas so we can celebrate ;-)

  3. My parent entered the USA on November 22, 2010 through JFK airport, but they haven't recieve Social security card that I request on DS230, or Welcome letter yet! I just called Social Security administrative they didn't see my parent name on the system either. also I called USCIS they said they couldn't look anything up. I though only take couple weeks to get those. but now 3 weeks nothing has been recieve. who else can I contact to verify if they have my parent correct address?

    Thanks guys

Tho you send the requested documents to the NVC .. when an interview is SEt they will send out a letter by post or email and part of that will say which documents are missing if any.

    MY parents took :

Medical Packets,Passports, 2 Passport photos, Appointment Letters and that was it

    questions at the first Window:

    1. Who Filed For You - Son

    2. Where Do You work - Name of Place

    3. Longer travel to America - 2 weeks

    4. What type of work do you do - given

    5. Who filled out the Application (occupation was incorrectly spelled) - Son

    6. IS your husband here? - Yes.

    7. Is there anyone here that needs to be interviewed..?

    Questions at interview (different person)

    1. Who Petitioned for you.

    2. How Did your Son Get to The US

    3. Did He Marry An American

    4. Where does your Son LIve

    5. Do YOU have a Visa ( dad had his mom dad (Blue Slipped)

    6. Are you travelling to the US together?

    Did this help..?

Thanks for your time!! very helpful , u are the best!!:thumbs:

  5. The questions are simple & specific to the actual case. The interview shouldnt take more than 15 to 30 min. Find the Packet 3 instructions on the embassy web site. That will explain what docs are brought to interview. Make sure they know to pay the visa fee prior to the interview at a Thai post office.

Thanks Ning for your respond , I already submitted all the docs that NVC required me and my parent on packet 3 to them, anyone know what's else that my parent need to bring to the actual interview?

    Thanks again

  6. Anybody didn't write case number on the top corner of all original document that send along with DS230 and has no problem with REF??? I didn't write mine because I didn't know and didn't see requirement on instruction on nvc website http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3194.html. I still waiting for NVC to review my case. I hope they not send me REF and ask to send in all original document again. :(

  7. I made the same mistake I forgot to write my case number on all the documents and I got an RFE and I was forced to resubmit all the documents including the DS 230.So, it is better to have certified copies of all civil documents handy. I did reapply for a police clearance again.

sorry to hear that I hope your case complete by this month.

I just re read instruction on http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/nvc/nvc_1335.html I didn't see requirement that we have to write case number on the document that we send along DS-230. anyone correct me?

  8. Sometimes there is a lag. You might have already sent it, but meanwhile the letter on the other end is generated and sent anyway. There's no real way to predict how long NVC is taking. My case took 20 business days. If the REF is asking for the DS-230 and you already have it, then there is nothing to worry about. Probably for your own peace of mind, just call them and clarify. Ask if they received everything necessary.

I also forgot to write my parent case number of each document, do you think is this going to be ok? bc its take forever for my parent to request all new original document and send them to the USA like birth certificate, marriage cert. etc.. this is very frustrated!! can't wait to get over this.

    Thanks again

  9. Hi everyone I have a few question about DS230

I sent out DS 230 of my parent and NVC received into system on September 10, on September 17 why NVC still send me REF. asking for DS230??

I forgot to write case number on all documents along DS230 is this ok? r they gonna lose my documents? it takes forever for my parent to request their police record , birth , marriage certificate etc..

and How long estimate for NVC to finish review DS230? (NVC received into system September 10)

    Thanks everyone
