  1. It shouldn't take too much longer after you send the RFE documents. I filed on the same day as you and got an RFE on my I-485 after almost 3 months. I didn't get my EAD for over 4 months, since that was suspended while I was in RFE. Since you already got the EAD, this will just be a request for extra evidence, probably something minor like Inky said, and shouldn't hold things up very much.

  2. This is probably a long shot, but does anyone have any idea when my AOS might be approved based on my timeline?

As you can see I got an RFE after almost 3 months of not hearing anything about my case. I wasn't even showing on the system. Then after that they got my reply, they approved my EAD in just 12 days (Meaning they hurried it along based on whn I had filed the original documents.). My AOS was transferred to CSC on Jan 23rd. Might they hurry that along like they did with my EAD, or will I have to wait the full processing time starting from Jan 23rd.(i.e. another 3 or 4 months)?

I'm not in a huge hurry for my green card. I'm just glad I have my EAD.

  3. I've been waiting for m EAD now for over 4 months. On the USCIS site, I finally got to "Card production ordered" and the date was January 25th. Then there was another update, it still said "Card production ordered" but now the date was shown as January 31st. Now it's saying "Post decision activity" and is dated February 1st. Do you think my card is still on the way? It just seems a little strange that it's gone from card production back a stage to post decision activity. I'm keeping my hopes up that this is just their normal way of doing things.

  4. Me too!! I am a mess. I'm surprised we haven't been flat our rejected. We had our RFE back in Sept, sent a response (apparently it wasn't good enough) so i sent extra information later on......then we caved and met with an immigration lawyer who commended me for my efforts but basically implied that i wasn't meant to do it alone and had made an error...so we had to yet again overnight extra tax information...now we are just waiting...again. We applied for the first round of paperwork on August 8th but they show our I-485 paperwork as being recieved on Sept 20th and our EAD paperwork on the 8th of August...whatever haha i am just dying for Aloush to be able to get a decent job!

And I bet you're left thinking: "I paid $1070 for THIS?"
  5. Safe bet is to have your wife and mother in law request tax transcripts, I received mine within two weeks.

    ++

I wish I'd have just got the transcripts first. I had an RFE about the tax forms after waiting about 80 days from my initial filing!

Now I have to wait another 2 weeks or so for them to send back the tax transcripts, then I have to mail them to the USCIS office, then I have to wait for them to process my EAD, which they said can take up to another 90 days (I REALLY hope it's not that long). Then I might finally get my EAD after 3 and a half or 4 months or so :|

All this and I already have an assured job offer waiting for me... and waiting.. and waiting..

  6. here is my other post:

    Hello VJ friends...

On sept 13, I filled for I-485 and EAD, I did a walk in fP on Oct 14. On the oct 15 my case touch online, after that i never hear anything back.

Then, last week, Dec 14, i called USCIS to ask why was taking so long, and the guy said that he was going to make a service request, and i should hear something within 15 days. That same day, i got a txt msg and email, saying that they had just sent me a letter requesting for evidences.

I got this letter yesterday, and this morning i sent it back to them with all the documents requested.

But i just got home, and i got another letter from them, and i almost cried thinking that was my interview date, but when i open the letter, was two pages. One dated on Dec 15, saying about my service request. And down in the letter there's a place that says:

The status of this service request is:

Our record indicate that we are awaiting your response to our request for additional eveidence on this case. Your case is currently in suspense or on hold until we receive your response. A copy of the additional evidence is included for your information. Please follow any instructions on that notice.

Ok, here is where i almost died: The request evidence copy that is attached to this letter, is dated on OCTOBER 18.

    yesss....two months ago..and i NEVER got it!

Now, i just called them..and the stupid guy had read all of that things they had to read and transfered me to another customer representative, and this one said, that i cant ignore USCIS, and i have to re-send all the request for evidences again. Even if a sent one today (they should be getting it thursday)....

Oh men, I'm sooooooooooo mad! I had a huge expectations saying inside me, that i was going to be able to be with my family for Christmas, and then a couple of weeks ago,,,i was kind of accepting that this was way too impossible..and now seeing that because of their mistake, i cant be there...and i did not got not even my EAD, is sooo frustaded....dannnnn ....i'm so mad.

SO, what do i do? sent it again tomorrow? Write a letter with it?

    thankss

Damn, that's terrible. I wonder why they didn't text or email you on October 18th about the RFE. It seems like they're forgetting to update their system.
  7. I called the USCIS number again today and told them that I'd been waiting more than 75 days for info on my EAD. They said my case has been assigned to someone and that I would have my EAD within 2 weeks. Here's hoping.

I wouldn't mind, but I think (although I'm not certain) that every part of my journey has been slower than the average. After you've been watching everyone else around you progress much quicker for ages it starts to grate on you a little.

  8. I just phoned USCIS to see why my case is still not on the system after 77 days. (Even though I've done my biometrics)

They just said: There's nothing wrong with your case, you just can't see it yet. It takes 90 days.

Is this normal or am I missing something? Everyone else seems to have seen their case's progress through the system. And almost everyone who filed around my time has been approved already or got their EAD.

  9. From the USCIS website:

If your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, has been pending more than 75 days, you may contact the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) at 1-800-375-5283 and ask that an Approaching Regulatory Timeframe “service request” be created. The NCSC will route the service request to the appropriate office for review. Please have your receipt number ready when contacting the NCSC.

See http://www.uscis.gov/i-765 and the link to that info is on the right of the page under Related Links.
