  1. I think my card has that on because when I first applied for my green card, I also applied for EAD (employment authorization document. . . i think). This was so I could begin work faster while waiting for my conditional green card to be approved, the EAD only took 30 days to receive whereas the green card took about 9 months. I was already living in the country and got married before applying for any type of legal status - maybe that is why it is a little different.

Guess I will head to the SSC office as soon as I can.

Thank everyone for all of the great info.

  2. So I just got the letter stating that I should receive my new card within 60 days. It took about 10 months, but at least there were no real hastles. . .so far.

I have a couple of questions about where to go from here:

    1. I still have the Social Security Card that says "valid for work only with DHS authorization". Can I get a new SSC card now that does not say this? What do most people do?

    2. My other question is regarding any kids we have (I am currently pregnant). I was hoping for some opinions of what others do. I was not planning on becoming a citizen but was wondering about the dual citizenship status. Does anyone do it? How about for kids? I was thinking it may make things easiear for them in the future but don't know much about it at this point. Does anyone have any good info or links that I could look into?

Thank you for any information you can provide!

  3. About to send package and going to move into a new house in a few weeks. I have been procrastinating sending the package waiting to see if we are in fact buying the house. Shoud I change my I-751 to the new address and file the AR-11 (and additional form for spouse)? Will all of the notices then get sent to the new address? That would help out with a lot of hastle of hoping I get all of the mail from the old address. July 7 was my 30th day of the 90 day window so I have some time to wait - don't want to wait until the very last minute though.

    What do you think?

  5. Let met get this straight,

I have to file the AR-11 for me within a week of moving and the I-865 for my husband (citizen) as we are moving to the same place (obviously).

I see when I went to the website that I can do mine online. For my husband, it says to mail it to the service center with jurisdiction over our state of residence. We live in Texas so I would think it would be the TSC but we sent the package to VSC due to the recent transfers. Where should we send his forms? Should I just send it to both?

Has anyone had any problems changing thier address and having forms get lost or anything?

    Thanks very much!!!

  6. We are going to send off our package in the next day or so. I am most likely being paranoid, but I would really appreciate it if I could get some opinions on our evidence. We don't own a home together (currently looking to purchase one) but I think there is enough documents showing we live at the same address. As well, I did not include any affidavits, I have read that a lot of people don't. I guess this could be further evidence if we were to get an RFE. I have the GC, husband is US citizen.

    Here goes;

    Cheque for $545

Enclosed also please find the following documents to verify the status of our marriage and ongoing relationship:

    - Copies of passport and green card for me

    - Copies of each of our drivers licenses showing common address

    - Social Security Statements addressed to each of us

    - Partial copies of our 2006 & 2007 joint tax returns

    - Titles for our three vehicles including the most recent which we purchased together

    - Import papers for the car I brought from Canada

    - Statements showing joint savings and chequeing accounts throughout the course of our marriage (automatic deposits for both of our pay cheques into account)

    - Application form to remove my provincial residency status as well as letters from both Alberta Health & Wellness and Canada Revenue Agency showing that I am no longer a resident of Alberta

    - Registration papers and other documents for our dog who we have raised together

    - Correspondence from both our home loan lender and realtor showing our continued search to purchase a home together

    - My recent start of a Simple IRA through work showing husband as Primary Beneficiary

    - Joint car insurance over the course of our marriage

    - Various Bills – Utilities, Credit Cards, etc. addressed to both or either of us over the course of our marriage

    - Photos of us together on various vacations throughout the course of our marriage

**Note: The address “Smith St” and “Smith Rd” is the same location. Both forms are used throughout the doucmentation

I am in Texas and am sending the package directly to VSC.

Thank you very much in advance for any responses or input!!! :star:

  7. Hi,

I have a question regarding moving during the I-751 process.

We are looking into buying house, if all goes well, will close in 30 days. I am ready to send my package - the 90 day window began on June 9. Should I send the package now with our current address and if we move, what do I do then? Or do I wait a few weeks to see what happens, if we do move, do the change of address first and then send the package with the new address? All of the documents I have will still have the previous address of course, but I'm sure that if I send a copy of the new mortgage or contract or some type of proof that we have just moved, I still have lots of proof that we have been living together.

I dont want to wait too long to send the package. I want to get everything started and I have read the sooner the better from USCIS view.

Thank you so much for any advice!!
