Hi, can someone please tell me what is in the instruction package from the Embassy? Its for a CR1 visa.
Thanks!
-
Hello,
Our CR1 case was expedited to Paris and we are wondering what is the next step? The embassy said that they are mailing an "instruction package". Does anyone know what is in this package? We have not turned in the AOS or DS230, so I assume that this package includes these forms and requests that we complile the necessary docs (marraige certificate, police records, etc). Also, has anyone gone through this process in Paris? How long does it take to get an interview?
Thanks for the help,
Jesse

I'm informed only the Applicant is Allowed in the Montreal Consulate and no one else. high security I suppose. However the Checklist shows that Evidence of Domicile and Evidence of Support are required documents per Packet3.
I really hope obtaining a Police Certificate from the Syria Embassy isn't a hassle or some run around.
Hi. Were you ever able to obtain a police report from Syria? I've called the Embassy in DC several times and they keep telling me that we have to go to DAmascus to get the report and they are not available ourside of Syria.
Thansk!

Hello - My case was just expedited and will be sent to the Embassy for further processing. Does anyone know how long it takes for the Embassies to typically schedule the interviews? Thanks!

My request to expedite IV processing for my spouse got accepted.. Yahoooo . My wife is in her 6th month of pregnancy and is advised against air travel after end of December.
NVC was very quick in forwarding the request to US consulate in Chennai, India; the consulate responded within 3 days.
Meanwhile, I followed up with NVC and paid AOS and IV fee online. NVC does not allow me now to login using NVC case # and IIN.
Anxiously waiting for December interview
This is great news! Did they email you with the news that they accepted the expedite request or did you have to call them? Also, did you email your request to NVCInquiry@state.gov or call it in? I am still waiting to hear back whether or not they requested our expedite request.
Thanks!

Let me know if you hear anything fro NVC and I will do the same. Have a good day!
I just logged on and was able to pay the AOS Bill. Hope yours shows up soon too!
-
NVC received my case file the same time as yours and our AOS fee bill still hasn't been invoiced either. I hope it won't take more than a week to invoice the bill.

J&I - Look at my timeline. NVC assigned me a case number on 10/15 and my AOS fee bill was available to pay on 10/26, meaing it took 11 days after NVC assigned me a case number. But I still says it varies case to case. You might get yours soon. Good Luck
Thanks! It seems as if the average processing time is around 10 days from case number assigning to AOS Bill.

Our case arrived at NVC on October 25th and the AOS Fee is still not invoiced online.... How long does it typically take for one to receive the email from NVC once they receive the case?
Thanks!

Well feeling pretty confident so I booked everyones flights home on November 13th POE Fourt Lauderdale,FL.
Good luck!

Thank you!
It usually takes about a week for a decision to be made BUT NVC won't e-mail you - you have to call them!!! Our case was already in the USEM and I already had my interview date when hubby received SNAIL MAIL from NVC that expedition was granted... My advice - give it a week or so after you send the request and then start harassing the NVC operators! That is, if you don't get SIF in the meantime... Good luck!
Thanks! Our fingers are crossed. Good luck tomorrow.
-
I'll take 'em! Maybe I can use them to bribe someone at NVC for ya.. Confidentially speaking, of course! I am sending you all my prayers and best wishes so you get that Dec interview, Teya!
I can barely hold myself not to start calling the USEM from tonight!!! (it's already midnight here, that would be 9hrs on hold... ) Tho I am debating whether to call them tomorrow or give them by Mon..
Good luck! We hope you hear something soon!
Anyone know how long it takes to hear back about an Expedite request?
-
Thanks everyone for the advice on expediting a case. Does anyone know how long it takes to hear back whether it is approved or not once we send in the request?
-
Who do we send an expedite request to? NVCInquiry@state.gov? Is there information on the state.gov website about this?
Thanks!
-
Can anyone tell me what SIF means?
Also, what happens if we cannot obtain police reports from a country we lived in years ago... Syria? they do not issue them from their embassies and require you to travel to the country to obtain them in person....

I was nervous about the barcode and I didn't include it. Instead I typed "NVC CASE # DHK-YYYY-DDD-SSS." Twas fine and DS3032 was accepted.
I didn't even include the IIN number on the DS3023 email or on DS3032 pdf. What's the point, really? IIN is only for paying the bill.
Can I (US Cit) email the form to NVC after my wife (applicant) signs? Or does she have to sign it?
-
Indigo,
Why is it that after the IIN, you have to wait for 2 to 3 days to pay the bill ? I just got my IIN number this morning from an NVC operator
and I logged in and was able to see the invoice to be paid.
I was told by the operator that I need to wait for the bill to be generated and to wait to pay the bill, but from your earlier thread you mentioned that you didn't wait for the email to pay the bill. what is it that you waited for for 2 to 3 days after the IIN ?
Loto,
Now that I have my IIN, can I go ahead and pay it eventhough the operator asked me to wait..?
Thanks
svenkatc, we are in the same boat. I logged on and could see the AOS, but it shows as "Not Invoiced." Has yours already "invoiced"? If it is "Invoiced" then you can pay the bill because it has been generated?
-
After IIN, you should be able to pay your AOS bill in 2-3 days.
You shouldn't wait around for the DS3032. You should pro-actively send it to NVC. If you wait on NVC, it might end up taking 4-6 weeks. What you want to do is email your DS3032 to NVC. For guidance, peruse many of the guides avaialbe on VISAJourney. An excellent one is here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/EZGuideSpouse . Hopefully, you've called NVC and asked them that they should email everything to you and your spouse, rather than using snail mail. To that end, you have already given them your email address. Do so, ASAP. If you haven't.
Thanks. I provided our email addresses. Just to confirm, we email the signed 3032 to NVCInquiry@state.gov? Im nervous about making a barcode.... is it necessary or does it work if we just write the NVC case number and IIN on the form?

FYI - there is a VJ Forum for October NVCers here.
-
How long after the the case # and IIN are created does it take to receive the 3032 and AOS Bill?
-
Thanks Malvika Good luck for your speedy process too
J&I, you can send DS-3032 now. Typically you should get an email from NVC soon after IIN. 6 to 8 weeks is the standard response from NVC. Read this thread for more info.
Loto
Thanks for the advice. Do I need to create barcode or can I write the case number on the top?
-
Hello All! I just made it to the NVC leg of the amazing immigration race!! I called NVC and provided them with our email addresses. NVC provide me with the IIN number, but they said it may take 6-8 weeks to receive the 3032..... is this normal? Can I send in a 3032 before?
How long does it typically take?
Thanks!

We just got our approval last night. For all those still waiting, stay strong and positive. If you havent contacted your congressman and senators, I highly recommend it.
