  1. Where was this article taken from? Some of the content does not make sense to me...Im a little confused by the statement of

"Administrative Review" refers to a Consular Official placing the case "on hold" because the Visa Petitioner or Beneficiary FAILED TO PASS the security name check or background check, or because the Consulate or State Department or Homeland Security NEEDS TO INVESTIGATE some issue or matter in the case more closely

Maybe I never understood this, but the Petitioners are placed in security checks and if THEY (as in we) don't pass causes a AP for the Beneficiary?

  2. Well, all of us will never know what any of it means...and that is the way they want it. From what I have learned about AP that the length is different for every area...I know mine is usually finished within 90days....I have heard Pakistan taking 6 months....I really do think, and I know this is hard, that you need to get away from VJ and clear your thinking. This is a tough enough situation we are in and thinking about it everyday will only drive you crazy....Which I know because it did it to me. You have 2 months left to REALLY start to worry....if nothing happens after 90 days or 6 months then I would start demanding answers...I pray it is soon though!! :o)

  3. so,we had our interview july 6th in turkey, and my then fiance,my mother and i all went.we knew that we would get APed,no questions asked, but just to be on the safer side,my husband decided to take an extra week of leave to spend in turkey with us,since he had to inform his work before hand. so i go in,first off the place was freezing cold,so i was stuttering when it was my turn.second of all,the lady asked about my husbands layovers and where he got his ticket from and blah blah blah,so i thought she knew that we had one more week to spend in turkey after the interview.so all went well,i got APed,we spent the week in turkey,i came home, unpacked and low and behold, two days after i arrived before my husband got to check in at work,my name was cleared and i had to go back and get my visa.from what ive heard it almost ALWAYS takes as long as they tell you it will take.in my case the lady told me it would take up to two weeks and i got it before two weeks were up

Well, I don't remember the CO telling him how long the wait would be..if she did she gave the generic 2 week story....All she said was to check the website. We are over a month now and still waiting...I know we have at least a 3 month wait....so count your blessings girly

  4. I have been driving myself crazy for the past month stressing over this process. We are currently in the AP portion and it is the hardest part to be at..I think. I have been talking to my fiance about "what are we going to do? What if they deny us? What if it takes a year or more? What if, What if, What if?!?!?!?"

Well, tonight I just had to tell myself...EVENTUALLY you WILL get an answer. If the answer is yes, Awesome! If the answer is no, then I'm moving to Iran...either way it will work out in the end.

It is just so hard during ALL this to remember it....you have two people who love each other so very much and our lives or on hold. He can't do anything because he is unsure of the when and if...it is hard for me to anything because I can not fully concentrate on studying...and I'm always sad....life just sucks right now!

How are you coping? Any advice or stories of what has helped you would be great!!

  5. These people are trying to help you, they have the experience you don't, have seen K visas been denied before. Usually denials are for clear reasons, Fiance visas are generally not denied without cause. You're either hiding something, or the consulate is a one that's notorious for denying cases. If you didn't want help trying to find out WHY your case was denied, why are you here? By all means, go to your lawyer. He'll probably do the same thing.

At least do yourself the favour and read some reviews from your Consulate. If you're as pure and innocent as you claim, perhaps that will give you a better look at what's going on.

The OP never asked WHY she asked HOW long does it usually take for USCIS to get the returned packet so she would know what and when to make her next move....

  6. Okay...I have been thinking about this, and thinking about this for the past week. I kept having this weird feeling about our DS-230..so today I looked at it..sure enough. I made two mistakes.....First one on the front cover...where it asks for the name and address of where you will be living...I forgot my name...just put the address. Then on the second page, it asks for the name in native alphabet...I missed having him do this...but he did do it on the front and on the swear in page....My MAIN concern is...Can we get DENIED because of these two mistakes?!?!?!?

  7. Calling 8 times a day is to say the least ridiculous! I saw you called that many times day in and day out I would have done the same thing. HOW ABOUT SOME COMMON sense folks? I wonder how many people could wait the 18 months plus like my wife and I did? What will you do if your denied? Are you going to move to your SO country? Quit your job? Sell you house car all your belongings? Better know all these answers before you file!

    I waited 18 months!

Yes, if he is denied...I will be moving there! But we are trying to avoid having me move to IRAN...

  8. That is probably a good idea, because it will not move the process along any faster, plus you will just get worked up and annoy someone eventually...which has happened. However, I do not agree with her handling of the call, she could have been more polite.

I think that is my biggest issue here...that she was rude as all get out....This journey is hard enough, a little compassion would be great...but I know that is not going to happen :/

  9. What you are explaining here does not sound like abuse. Try your best to be patient in a stressful situation.

The person answering the phone is not a decision maker. Imagine how many overly stressed people they speak to in a work day. How would you (honestly) perform in that position?

You are right...It just took me by surprise that she said something to me....I'm glad that they are not decision makers..I wouldn't want her to do something to our case just because she was tired of hearing my voice today! hahhahaha

I'll just stop calling them for awhile....since there is nothing they can help me with anyways

  10. Well, I know we dont have anything to hide....It's just me being impatient hoping for ANY information as to where we are in this "black hole" we are in....I HATE to think, and I am already crying thinking about it...that I just got him denied because I called. When you get one person telling you he is denied...and you call back an hour later and get a totally different response....it's no wonder why I keep calling..I just want a straight answer!

I also honestly think you shouldn't call so much?? If you have nothing to worry about...that is! We ALL pay high fees to the immigration and there are thousands of other people and other cases pending i don't think because you paid you should be treated any differently.

She probably answers the phone all day deals with all kind of people and calling all day is just going to make yourself look stalkerish if i was you i definitely would just chill.

    Good luck

And don't have them denying your case because of your suspect all day long calls maybe that will have them think you are hiding something lol

I'm not saying because I PAID...it is a general saying...We all paid, so in a way we are all entitled to some answers. Not to be treated like trash...And also I do have something to WORRY about...the fact he is NOT here with me and not KNOWING when he will be...

  11. Okay I'll admit..maybe I call DOS too many times a day...but it makes me feel better and I also think maybe, just maybe..I will get someone who is willing to help me and give me a little extra information that we ALL KNOW they have access too....Well, I gets this one lady right at their 5:00 time...I give her my case number and her response was " why do you keep calling so much. Nothing is going to change within an hour"

Needless to say I was shocked and hurt all the same time...she puts me on hold, as if she is really looking, and when I proceed to tell her why I call back so much she has already hung up on me...No thank you for calling, have a nice day...nothing....

IF I want to call every minute of every hour they are open I CAN!!! I paid for this process, it is MY right to get some information on what is happening with our case!

This is not fair to be treated this way....especially when we pay this kind of money...we are being tortured as is with being separated from our loved ones...now we have to be abused by the people here working for US?!?!?!

  12. My dear! My goodness! of course they are going to say you are "temporary denied". AP is like a "you didn't get it now but wait a bit" kinda thing. They have to do a bazillion checks more and then its will be okay. Its VERY rare for them to deny someone AFTER the interview. They would have denied him right then and there. If they felt suspicious in ANY way, they would have brought up the issues right then.

I would not worry so much. You both are fine. :) Stay positive!

    Rebekah

    Thanks Rebekah!!

I know I need to relax, but as you remember...it is so hard during this whole AP thing...you start to wonder and think...maybe they are looking through his paperwork again and could find something to deny...or maybe his namechecks will be the one that takes 6+ months or a year! You know, I thought waiting for the NOA1 and NOA2 was hard...but I really believe THIS phase is the hardest!!!

  13. I just called DOS again to make sure we're not missing any documents. She said we are not and that our case is still in admin review. I asked her if they know wheather we're waiting on our document review or name check she said she cant discuss that with me. She said she does know which step we're at but she cant discuss that with me.

This is sooo frustrating. I just wish they could share a little more with us...i.e step 1, 2 is done we're waiting on step 3...or whatever. That way we'll atleast know there is progress. For all I know my husband's case is sitting in someone's office collecting dust...grrrr.

Yeah, I don't understand that either! Why can they NOT tell us about OUR cases, especially when we pay out all this money! That is our information and it should be mandatory that they keep us updated! At least that is my opinion...the person at DOS should never have said that they know what step you are in...that is just rude!

  14. Royajoon78,

Please don't be disappointed and don't give up hope. The way I understand it, the 221g is given for many reasons and it is usually related to the additional checks and information required in connection with AP. It does not mean you have been denied.

I think what the lady had told you was that it was denied this time around and a visa wasn't issued because of required AP. If you do some research you will see that many other applicants / petitioners have received the same 221g blue form and it did not mean they were denied.

It all depends on how you look at it. If they didn't give the visa after your interview then you were temporarily (or conditionally) denied because he required to go through the AP. It doesn't mean much more than that. Don't let the robotic answers from the operators make you sad. I just wish they would do the AP before having the interview. It would be so much easier (may be?) on people not having to wait again ( sometimes indefinitely and without a known time frame).

Don't give up hope and "naa omid nashid". (F)

I wish everyone a short journey through their AP period.

    Thanks so much!

This is the hardest test of patience I ever have had to go through....I am so trying to stay positive but the whole WHAT IF lingers in the back of my mind....Thanks for the encouragement!!
