I had my interview on Feb 13th 2006 and have still not recieved anything through the post. I have even made 3 requests through the misinformation line and get told the same old thing- just be patient and wait.
Good luck to you!

I had a successful interview on 13th FEB and was informed that my Green card would be posted to me within 14 days. Its now the end of March and I am still waiting for my welcome letter.
Has this happened to anyone else and if so how long have you had to wait. I've contacted the miss information line and they have filed a request for me ...but I'm still none the wiser on where my card is and am hoping to go back to England within the next few months.
My interview was in Jacksonville Florida.
Any advice would be much appreciated

hi i came in from the UK as well and submitted my vaccination sheet given to me in London with the AOS paperwork. We didnt get an RFE either - i panicked when i read everyone else was sending in a suppliment vaccination sheet or taking one with them to the interview so I got one done by post - no charge at all.
I had my interview yesterday, took my vacc sheet with me and was not even asked for it.
So I personally wouldnt get one done and just take with you a copy of the one submitted from London.
Hope this helps.

Hi i had my interview yesterday in Jacksonville and got approved YIPEEE
The interview was a breeze and really nothing to worry about. I honestly believe that as soon as they meet you they know whether they will approve you or not. The guy that did our interview was great, very informal and only asked for the bare minimum of paper work. I didn't even need my Vaccination supplement or 1/2 the paper work asked for on the int letter.
All those months of worrying and stressing were completely wasted, we were in and out in 30 mins. I think that if you come from a country similar to the USA (UK, Germany, France, Holland, Denmark, Canada etc- A a strong country where the benefits of living in that country are no different than here) than you are more than likely to have an easier interview. Several times i was asked why would someone from the UK want to move here when life there is so good - especially when you have had to give up your job, your home, friends and family. I think those that are coming for a new / better way of life are those that they are cracking down on. We were quoted that 30% of the AOS interviews are fraud cases and are denied for one reason or another.
The only snipets of advice i can offer is:
If your pregnant take some proof ..a doctors letter, hospital letters, scans, etc. ( we were asked to prove how we wouldn't be a burden on the state whilst being pregnant)
Take more paper work than you need. I went in with a whole bag full of photos, cards, journals etc, etc. Although your not asked for it - i feel that it makes your relationship more real.
Good luck for all those going through this process.
I'm out of here now for 2 yrs.

Hi just wanted to pick your brains. I have my interview on Monday and wanted to know if its crucial that i wear my wedding ring. I'm almost 37 wks pregnant and cant get the damn thing on due to swollen fingers. I can go out and buy a new one but could really do with out that due to baby expenses.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi my interview is next week as well and i had the same problem. All i'm taking with me is a copy of the AOS paper work we sent in originally. With that i sent TAx returns, bank statements, business licence -my husband is self employed, divorce certificates, orginal birth certificates etc. Just the usual.
I really have no idea why they even need this stuff as it was all sent to them when first applying. As for other evidence i'm taking a ton of stuff, photos, wedding cards, house ins, bank statements etc, etc.
Good luck - hope it goes well for you!

HI i have my AOS interview on the 13th Feb and just wanted to find out exactly what the green card is. Is it something that is stamped in to your passport or is it a plastic card you can carry around in your wallet.
Reason i ask is i'm 9 months pregnant - baby due in a few weeks and i want to go back to the UK to visit around June time. My daughter will have a US & UK passport but her surname will be different than mine. Which might cause problems getting in and out of the country.
My passport is stil in my maiden name and I'm worried that if i send my passport off to the UK Embassy to change names on it they will keep the old passport and send me a new one with nothing in it and then i've lost my green card (if its stamped in your passport)
Any other Brits out there that have changed their name on their passports that can shed some light for me.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one still waiting for my welcome letter and card to come through. I got my approval in Feb 06 , have the stamp in my passport but have heard nothing else. I'm at the stage of where i have conctacted USCIS 3 times now and am still waiting for a response. If I've heard nothing by 8th July its an infopass apt for me in Jacksonville.
Good luck - let us know if you get your card through.
