  1. It says the following:

"As evidence you submitted the following:

    Identification documents

Federal Tax Returns for 2011 and 2012

    Two affidavits"

We sent bank statements, a copy of the deed in both names, a joint car title, real estate assessment in both names, but they were not listed as being received by them.

    It asks for evidence of

-children as a result of the marriage (my children are grown and we aren't having any more!)

-evidence that we reside together (Already sent the deed with both our names)

-Evidence that we have combined finances (Already sent tax transcripts for both years and some bank statements)

-Evidence that we have made estate, health and financial planning arrangements with each other.

-Affidavits from third parties who have knowledge of our bona fide marriage (already sent 2)

-Any other relevant documents not already mentioned.

We are sending everything from the first submission, plus bank statements for the entire two years, our joint auto insurance coverage, life insurance beneficiaries for both of us, and a will naming the other as beneficiary.

  2. We have received a request for more evidence when filing for removing conditions of my husband's visa. He came over on a K-1 visa in April of 2011 and we married April 13, 2011. He was granted the 2 year green card and we applied to remove the conditions this summer. They sent a letter requesting more evidence. The letter stated what they received and the letter did not list everything we had already sent in. Should we resend the same evidence. We sent our last two years income tax transcripts filing married jointly, bank statements in both our names, 2 affidavits from friends who know us as a married couple, a deed to our house in both names, car title in both our names, and a copy of both driver's license with same address, along with pictures of us with family and friends (Christmas, Easter, Beach vacation) as well as holiday cards addressed to us as Mr. and Mrs. I'm not sure what else to send to convince them that our marriage is legitimate. We have requested every bank statement of our joint checking account for the last two years. We don't have utilities together as they will only list one of us and it was already in my name before we married. Any advice you can give would be helpful as we're anxious to have the conditions removed.

  3. I am the USC traveling with my UK fiance from London Heathrow to Washington Dulles for his POE on our K1 finally!!! Since we'll be flying in together, I've read several reviews that say people were in line together at immigration. Does he go through the US Citizen line with me since he has a visa or do we have to separate to go through immigration? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

  4. When my fiance emailed about change of address to receive the appointment letter in the correct place, they attached a pdf copy of his appt letter that he printed off. I don't think his actual appointment letter ever arrived in the mail. You should hear back from the embassy soon. They are usually quick to respond by email when using their code. Good luck!

  5. My fiance didn't get his letter either. He called London Embassy and got the code for their email which is the best way to contact them. They emailed him back the same day or next day with the letter attached, which he printed off to take with him. His letter never came in the mail either. But they've said as long as you know the day, it should be on their schedule and you'll be fine. we just wanted to not have any problems, so he emailed the embassy. They're pretty quick with responses. Good luck!

  6. FALSE ALARM!! not 20 minutes after my freak out, my fiance sends me a message that says "SMS has your US Embassy item 1811114949 set for delivery between 8am and 6pm 18/03/2011" OMG yayyyyyyyy!!!! and holy cow that was super fast!

Wow that's only 3 days from interview to delivery??? Our interview is tomorrow so I hope ours is that fast as well!!! Congrats!!!

  7. When you phone the Embassy and they tell you to email, they need to give you a code to put in the subject line of the email. These are the only emails they read, the ones with the special code. I know from personal experience that at least one of the people who answers the phone does not give this necessary information! (Although subsequent phone answerers did not seem to believe that such a bad employee existed lol.)

If you get a reply to an email confirming the interview you can just print it off and take that.

Otherwise, if you cannot obtain anything in writing, just don't worry about it. They have a list of everyone who has an appointment, the interview letter is not actually needed. Sometimes they have trouble finding people's names on the list of appointments, so your fiance might have to insist that his name should indeed be on it, but he will be ok :-)

Thanks for the info!! He did receive a reply email from the embassy and he changed his address with them. They are sending a new letter to the new address. It did take a couple of tries and one person told him no interview had even been scheduled! Maybe it was a wrong number! lol It should be straight now, but thanks so much!

  8. Member nattrav called and tried several times to get at least an email confirmation and they insisted she didn't need a letter or email. This was just a few weeks ago. She got in the embassy just fine. They have a list of appointments at the front of the line.

She hadn't moved but her letter wasn't received three weeks after being mailed. It arrived the day before the interview after she was already on the train to London. The embassy had not put enough postage on it and her brother had to pay £1:32 to receive the letter.

Based on her recent experience, I wouldn't go to extraordinary lengths to get a letter since you know the date.

Thanks so much for the advice. The embassy was not quite as helpful as the DOS! We're just glad to have the appt next week!

  9. Moving this to Consulate/Embassy discussion...

Call DOS Visa Services in the USA..

For inquiries about visa cases and the application process call: 202-663-1225.

To e-mail the Visa Office for general information, write us at usvisa@state.gov.

I asked the DOS this already and they said I would have to confirm the address of where the letter was sent through the London Embassy, not with them. They have the address of the original petition. But the DS-2001 readiness form asks for the address where the interview letter should be sent, so we have no way of knowing which it's been sent to.???

  10. I have called the DOS and received confirmation that our interview date is set for march 18.Yay- next Friday!! My UK fiance called the London Embassy to confirm they have sent the appt letter to the correct address that he put on the DS-2001 readiness form. He has moved since the original petition was filed and is having trouble confirming anything in London at the embassy. Once he gets a human voice, they tell him to email, which comes back as not deliverable!!! Any helpful advice would be appreciated. It's next Friday and I know he needs the appt letter to get in to the interview! Just a little stressed at the moment!

  11. Have at look at the link in my signature about K-1 Interview prep. Takes you through step by step.

Granted, I was going through all this nearly a year ago but I've updated the thread to reflect the changes since (the pre-payment of fees, police cert at medical, etc.) If anyone comes across items that are inaccurate, please let me know but it's current to the best of my knowledge!

Thanks for the helpful link! One more question.... someone mentioned that we need to provide the marriage certificate from my previous marriage at the interview. I had not heard of this before. We have divorce certificate as well as my court ordered name change back to my maiden name and it is all in the original petition.

  12. I have seen some confusing information about previous marriage certificates being needed at the interview. I wanted to hear from someone who has interviewed in London. On the embassy website it says for married applicants to bring marriage certificates, but I had assumed that was for spousal visas. The divorce certificate listed the date of the previous marriage, the termination of the marriage and I have a court order stating my name change back to my maiden name. My UK fiance has never been married. We sent copies of all of these documents with the original I-129 F petition. So..... do I need my marriage certificate from my terminated marriage for the interview? Thanks for any help!

  13. Just to clarify as this is all so confusing and I don't want to waste time! I have called the NVC and they have given me the LDN number and said our approved petition has been sent to the London Embassy. So do I need to wait for London to receive our file before we book the medical? Or if the medical is done and sent, then London will know what case to apply it to even if they haven't sent out packet 3? Thanks for all the help!

  14. My thoughts as well. As the petitioner, I will order my previous marriage (official with stamp) records if required. We have time since we are December filers. My fiance had also been married before. Would this apply to her as well? Will she need to obtain her previous marriage records as well? Just want to get things right. Thanks experienced K-1ers.

Well I am the petitioner and I am divorced. My divorce decree would be enough I assume since it has the date of the first marriage on it and when it was terminated. My fiance is UK citizen and never been married so it doesn't apply to him. I was just confused when I read your post about needing a marriage certificate for the K1 interview??? This is all so confusing!

  15. I have also been reviewing the list for required documents for the interview. We are applying for a K1 visa so why would we have a marriage certificate needed at the interview? Do you mean if you are divorced we need our first marriage certificate? I know we need the divorce decree original and copy, but correct me if I"m wrong. I assumed the marriage certificate applied to spousal visa applicants.
