  1. Hi,

Our interview is on June 29th, just a "quick" drive flight from British Columbia to the convenient Embassy.

All sarcasm aside. I'm getting nervous hearing how long its taking for people to get their Visa. I had never heard that part of the process taking that long so already made plans.

  2. I need HELP! The NVC sent a letter showing this:

    Supporting Documents missing or incomplete

[x] The (sponsor) has not provided proof of U.S. domicile.

With my affidavit of support I included this letter below and everything described in it. What more could they want? Based on other discussions I thought I had enough. So frustrating.

Question No. 15 Country of Domicile

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I, **, am including this letter and supporting documents to prove of my intent in good faith to reestablish my domicile in the Unites States, for the purpose of fulfilling the I-864 requirements. I have attached the following:

    • A lease agreement for a place to reside in **.

    • Unites States bank account statements including retirement account.

    • Quote from moving company to move from Canada to USA.

    • USA Credit Card Statement

    • An offer of employment from a United States company.

The following item is currently unavailable as it requires a more concrete time frame of when the interview will occur so we plan our move accordingly. I submit that this item will be available for review at the time of the interview:

    • A letter from current landlord acknowledging the end of our residency at current location in Canada.

I declare that I intend in good faith to re-establish my domicile in the United States no later than the date of my wife’s admission into the US.

I certify under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States that the statements in this letter and all accompanying evidence are true and correct.

  3. Well, I am definitely feeling discouraged and frustrated...

I called an operator last night because it's been over 20 business days since we sent our paperwork in and there has been no update. She told me that it still doesn't show that they have received any of our stuff! REALLY?!?! We've already had to resend it twice, and they still can't find it??? She said she would put in a request for them to review our case, but that we should re-submit our documents again. The NVC now has 4 copies of our documents. 4! Each time we have submitted we have received confirmation that they got it. We are doing electronic processing, which I thought was supposed to be faster, but it seems to have caused us more problems....

I'm discouraged. People who began their NVC journey after us are seeing CC and SIF.

I just don't know what to do anymore....

I'm having same issues. They keep saying we're not opted in. Finally I emailed the nvc and got a response, but im not sure if its the optin acceptance or not. Anyhow, there are others in your boat, this electronic processing has serious flaws. I dont know why they dont just add a checkbox to one of the websites we can login to. They can automate sending in an entire form, but a simple yes/no for electronic processing? rediculous.

  4. The guy on the phone at NVC is saying this email I got is not the OPTIN acceptance email, and to call back next week as it needs to be updated in the system. Can anyone confirm/deny the format of the optin acceptance email?

    Dear Sir/Madam:

Thank you for your interest in processing your case electronically with the National Visa Center (NVC).

Your case has been updated with the email address you have provided to us.

All further communication with NVC will now be done through this email address:

    NVCElectronic@state.gov.

All documents and forms that we request and require from you should be scanned copies of the originals. The applicant must present all original forms and documents to the Consular officer at the visa interview. Failure to present the required originals at the visa interview will result in a denial or delay in obtaining a visa for the sponsored applicant.

Any questions regarding your petition should now be directed to NVCElectronic@state.gov.

  5. Hi,

We are having a similar experience and wondered mxrado, if you can give an update of if/how you got your situation resolved?

We never got anything saying they accepted our"OPT IN" email for electronic processing. The people we call are pretty worthless and just keep saying to wait. We finally received today some emails asking to complete the application of support and DS230 supporting documents, which we sent in almost a month ago. So we've sent them in twice now. Any advice?

  6. Thanks birdnerd,

I was worried that I couldn't mail it. I don't think Canada understands that this is a giant country, we don't all live near these big cities. Pretty lame, but I guess thats what I have to decide. Given its a 4-5 hour drive and that their website has conflicting information(one page says Thursday the other says Friday lol) i'm leaning towards going the US, Chicago route. Ive also gathered from this thread that it might not be that much faster going DCF route, Am I wrong?

    Thursday

    Friday

    Thanks,

  7. Hi,

I have all the paperwork ready to DCF but was hoping someone on this forum had some insight on a couple of questions.

    1. We live in BC, do we mail our application to Vancouver or straight to Montreal?

    2. How did you guys pay the US$355.00? I cant find anything on this, Im hoping I can use a personal check, but don't know who to make the check payable to, or if it should be US bank or Canadian Bank?

    3. Anyone know if DCF is still an option for Canadians given the wording change with the latest I-130 instructions?

    "Where to File :

All petitioners who live in the United States or Canada and who are filing a stand-alone Form I-130 must submit their petitions to the Chicago Lockbox facility. Form I-130 petitions filed with the Chicago Lockbox will be routed to and adjudicated at the appropriate USCIS Service Center. This routing will be based on the petitioner’s place of residence."

    Thanks!!
