Thank you. Both my mother and I are citizens.

Last question, does my mother have to remain in the US during this process. She is back and forth between here and the U.K. frequently.

So my mother, US citizen, will be filing paperwork to bring my sister, under 21, to the US. It is far less messy if I am the sole financial sponsor. Is that feasible? And...are the wait times still horrendous if I am the one to sponsor her VISA entirely?

I've driven by that place hundreds of times yet neither my husband nor I have made it inside. Its a small hole in the wall place. I doubt they have a refridgerated section, but let me know what you think. Ryan and I may be swayed to stop in next time we visit family.

It took 2 weeks for us to hear back, then another two weeks for our case to be forwarded to London and an interview to be set. But only a couple days after that for the actual interview. So our timeline was like this, Expedite request sent July 26, approval Aug 12, NVC mailed petition Aug 15, London logged it August 23, interview Aug 26.

If your case is really complete at the NVC, you can turn your focus to the State Department. 202-663-1225 at the prompts 1 then 0. Give them your LND case number and they will be happy to track your case. They can tell you if it has left the NVC, if London has received it, if London has logged it (that took a while for us) and if the interview date has been set. We NEVER received an interview letter from the London Embassy, had I not been calling the DoS I would have never known when my husbands interview was. You are likely to be on hold with them for 15 minutes each time you call, the phone just keeps ringing and ringing. Stick with it. I had great luck with getting knowledgable people on the phone each time I called.

I saw in another post that you are through the AP nightmare. We were not in AP, it was just taking London a long time to issue Ryan's visa. I called DoS every day to see if it had been issued and was told no and they had no other information to give. Several weeks later we were told it had been issued. No idea why it took longer than the standard 10 days. We saw other people who had interviews the same day as us receive their passports back 3 days later.

12 weeks? I would go insane, I already am and its been less than 2 weeks since our approval in London. Have you received any information from the Embassy or DoS?

I have learned over the years to have little faith in the Royal Mail. I'm still waiting on last years birthday card that never arrived. Hopefully it will arrive. Unsure what the MRV fee is, is that a K1 specific thing? We paid some fees at the NVC phase, but nothing other than the medical since.

Here is my question. I called the Department of State this morning to find out that my husbands interview is scheduled for this friday the 26th. (expedited case). The embassy mailed his appt letter on the 22nd, so it is unlikely to reach him before he has to leave for London. I called the DoS back to see if they could send us something, they said no. And the embassy call center claimed to have no case for my husband (#######?). What will happen Friday, will he still be admitted to the embassy for his interview even if he doesn't have the letter?

My life would be perfect if my husband had a september 16th interview. Here's hoping. We got approved for an expedite by the NVC/Embassy this morning based on my son's health. D-Day for sugery is Oct 6th, fingers crossed hubby is here by then.

It can impact your case if he is still drinking. At the medical he will be questioned about his drinking habits. If he is deemed to be a heavy drinker he will be denied based on his "harmful behavior". I know this to be true as it happened to us when my husband applied for a visitors visa. My advise, tell him to stop drinking, show rehabilitation, and expect a lot of scrutiny

I fly through heathrow frequently with my 2 year old, about once a month in fact. I have never had a problem with taking bottles of juice or formula. Heathrow will ask that either you or the child to taste from the bottle to ensure that it really is what you claim. Once in the states, they will hold a test strip over the opened bottle. Its all very easy. Just put the bottles in a separate bin and know that once they go through the x-ray machine that you will have to wait for someone to be available to test them. I usually take 2-3 premade bottles or sippy cups and when Nathan was an infant I would have either the powder formula or sometimes the sealed liquid formula containers with me. If the formula is unopened from the store, you will not be asked to test or open it.

After waiting 6 weeks, I am a July NVC filer. They received my file this past monday, but have not generated my I-864 bill. How long does this usually take, anyone know?

Join the club. It is a nightmare. But the alternative is worse, a visa overstay or misrepresentation could end your hopes of being together.
