  1. Talked to lawyer, I don’t know whether he was telling us truth or just wanted us to jump in the pool so we can be totally dependent on him as per lawyer this AP can be more longer,, he said Islamabad is known for delaying cases, especially with those cases, who are married to Convert Muslim Americans, and Non Muslim American with Pakistani Muslim Guys and also those couple who have much age difference.

He said consulate does nothing just pile up the cases and then sit & wait... He told my wife to visit Pakistan every year.. We are so confused what to do, as not sure whether to file case against Consulate or wait.

  2. Insha Allah it will be over one day,

  3. Dear All, I know we are all frustrated with the embassy for AP. But honestly AP is not up to the consulate. Once they send the file to Washington requesting Security Advisory Opinion, they have to suspend working on the case until they receive clearance from Washington. Most of the time when a name is common and it gets a false hit in the name check data base again and again it the case is given to person in the Washington DC office to clear it manually. So now how fast your case will clear depends on the person sitting in Washington DC who has your file. So, the hold up is actually the State Department Washington DC office, not the embassy.

I called DOS in september, and DOS told me that our case is in consulate now and it was sent back in August 2011. AP started in may 2011, since they always say we are waiting to complete the case,

  4. We had to submit some documents after his first interview. We submitted them in November 2010. Our case was placed in Administrative Review for 3 months then they placed it in AP for 2 months before he was called for the 2nd interview in May 2011. The embassy has had our case in AR/AP for over a year.

After his 2nd interview they just continued his AP.

It's really long time, i am also thinking about writ mandamus, but will wait till jan, then will decide, best of Luck!

  5. I am also writing a letter to Mr. Donahue that will be mailed out by the end of the week as well as a letter to Hillary Clinton.

I am doing the paperwork for a Writ of Mandamus and will be filing it soon with the Federal District Court for the State of Michigan. I can't afford an attorney so I am filing it myself and asking the Court to appoint me an attorney free of charge.

I filed the I-130 petition over 2 years ago and our case has been with the embassy in AP for over a year. My husband and I are suffering and I have to do something to try and get the embassy to make a decision on our case. I have sent many emails to the embassy about my case and all they will say is pending Administrative Processing.

I will keep you guys informed about how things are going with the Writ of Mandamus.

When your husband attended 2nd interview?

  6. What is the email address of Mr. Donahue? 8th month is about to completed and its still pending, i have become a heart patient now just because of this DAM AP

  7. Hello everyone

I need help about my case, it’s been 5th month since my case is on AP and there is no clue when it will end neither Consulate is helpful or DOS giving any positive response. First my petition was transferred to TSC and it took 7 months to approve and now this AP black hole. However In these circumstances someone suggested us to do lawsuit (Writ Mandamus) against consulate I need your suggestions about it is it a good idea to file, the lawyer who suggested us, he also said wait till 6 months will be over then go for it, as average time for AP is 5 to 6 months, I need your valuable suggestions,

  8. I think it's a good sign. My husband has been in AR/AP for over 9 months and all we ever hear is "still pending" or "administrative processing".

You could try emailing the embassy and see what they say.

Sent them email but they didn't reply, neither they answered calls, i called today after 30 Mins Hold they disconnected my call,

  9. Hello everyone, last Friday I called to DOS as per DOS they are waiting from consulate end to complete the case, Whenever we called before the only thing we heard was case is Still in AP, but last 3 calls they put me on hold to check the status, and after 2 or 3 minutes hold, reply was we are waiting from consulate to complete the case. What do you think about this new development is it a good sign?

Our case is on AP Since May 2011. I am praying so hard to get through this black hole; first CSC to TSC transfer ruined us and now this AP.

  10. If you read Nikah Nama carefully it does say, (if any) bride has appointed a lawyer or wali, it's not necessary as she is 23 but her brother can be wali if she wants, secondly there are 6 witnesses required at the time of Nikah, 2 will be witnessed for Marriage, 2 from Groom Side and 2 from Bride, she doesn't need permission from her father to make passport, all she needs CNIC and Birth certificate and I guess they will demand for educational documents.

  11. He doesnt have a very common name but yeah im thinking we will see visa i pray by the end of the year... our anniversary is next month and im losing hope fast it will happen before then... the ones that take a year are rare but it does happen... it looks like the timelines on average for ap for ISL is between 3-6 months.

Insha Allah, don't loose hope you never know when the window of happiness will be open for you, and insha allah soon.

  12. It all depends actually... we had to submit a document clarifying my child support income and who lives in the house with me so they didnt do anything until they reviewed that and then we had the co call and do phone interview on july 25th with me here in the states a month n half after his interview... after he was satisfied he told us our case is fine and we have nothing to worry about and they have to do one last thing which is name checks...once that is complete the visa can be issued.

Sometimes they do name checks bfore the interview or right after or in our case once our name check wasnt requested until the new docs were reviewed and accepted.

at the interview they did keep his passport and gave him the pink token to send docs and to receive his passport.

so your case is undergoing name checks, I have heard that if the name is common then it could take a while to clear from their system, it called NNCP it could take 48-72 hours to clear or 30 to 120 days, They never contacted us after the interview, neither they asked any more documents, at the time of interview CO said the same words to me, everything is fine and your interview is completed, all we need is some office work,

  13. nothing only that i know they were sending for name checks the last week of july... and of cos dos always says pending so i pray your close to visa... and hopefully sometime this month or next after 3-4 months of ap we too will see visa.. really missing my husband :(

Insha Allah, do they send cases for name check right after the interview? i have read on this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Visas_Mantis.png that they send case for name check right away, don't know how Authentic it is

  14. AP is a blanket term that covers even AR, kind of like an umbrella... AP is the umbrella and then so many things are under it... it includes all the checks and includes even administrative review. It sounds as if (I may be mistaken) they are concluding your case and doing the final review to see if they can issue visa. They may put all the pieces of your checks together at this time and confirm all your back ground checks. I have also read that they have a meeting at the embassy to determine results of the checks....

I hope that is the case for you anyway... we are a month behind in the interview and the ap while we understand and will try to be patient as we go thru it....it can be heart breaking and depressing not being with your loved one for each and every morning and night.

Thanks for your detailed reply, so my case could be on final review, yes i have read that too they do meeting before issuing visa, I pray this is the case and their final review will not be long, Any progress about your case?,

  15. Hi, I just realized that I didn't know the difference between AR and AP, I keep reading about both of them simultaneously and however I do not understand if they are the same thing. Can someone shed light on me about that? Before Whenever we called to DOS they always said your case is in AP and they never give any details, but last 2 calls were different, both times DOS said your case is under AR and they are working on it right now and they are trying to determine if you are qualified for the visa or not, they haven’t decided yet either you are qualified or either you are not.
