  2. Hi everyone,

Im filling i864 for my mom & my spouse is filling i864a. I'm unemployed (homemaker) & we have filled taxes jointly. Am I right in saying the household size should be 3 in my case?

    I864

For part 6.5 should I put my income $0 or jointly filed income?

For part 13.abc should I put $0 or joint filed filed income?

    I864A

Part 2.13 & part 3.15 what to put for "indicate number"?

    Thank you!

  3. sheri - for the affadavit of support:

    1. I-864 on you, even if NO income or assets.

    2. I-864A on your husband

I assume the two of you are married, you were the petitioner, and you two filed 'married filing jointly' for the tax returns.

re: instructions on the online payment portal - there are things you need to DOWNLOAD - instructions are in the two DOWNLOADED things (invoice and coversheet) per item - so that's 2 downloaded things for the I-864, and 2 downloaded things on the DS-260 ..

    ----

    back to post #1, aye?

you referenced a link at http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html - that's the DS-260 and all of the civil docs list that you'll need on the parent. That's THEIR VISA APPLICATION.

you referenced a link at http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3197.html

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3197.html

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3197.html - that's the I-864 and the instructions.

in both of these links, forms you need for downloading are listed.

You'll need adobe acrobat reader installed (or something similar) and for the DS-260- it's best to USE IE 7 or greater on a PC running Windows with the acrobat pdf extensions installed properly.

GO GET EM, and GOOD LUCK !

    Darnell,

thank you so much for clearing things up!

  4. the thing that troubles me wink.png

is that you claim the fees are already paid.

so - either you snuck in a DS-3032 earlier

or - you had an attorney attached to the case with a G-28

    -----

although you are currently unemployed - what was your tax picture for 2012 ?

IMO - if you filed a 1040EZ, then I-864EZ is fine to use,

otherwise - get that big I-864 and fill it out wink.png

    ----

as to your co-sponser - it depends on complexity of tax return, as to which I-864 to use.

    ---

you not speak of a DS-3032 or a DS-261 - if there was an attorney attached to the I-130 via a G-28 form, neither a DS-3032 or DS-261 is needed - please confirm what's what there, aye?

I'm not sure if I understand you completely,

but Yes the fees are all paid and No i did not use any attorney. yes DS-3032(choice of agent) already sent via email.

we have filed taxes jointly all these years. i've been unemployed for 5 years due to some probs..

which I-864 forms do people fill for joint sponsorship normally(husband & wife are sponsors), is it one form each for sponsors?

if there is an I-864 prefilled sample form for joint sponsorship, it would be very useful.. plz comment.

  5. most people here at VJ download the forms

    and

follow the directions in the online payment portal

for sending things in to NVC.

if you truly wish to 'wait' - you'll be kicked into 'postal processing mode' with NVC - and NVC will send you blank forms, in about 3 or 4 months.

I suggest you not wait for blank forms to arrive via postal mail .

If you have issues with downloading forms or using Adobe acrobat, please hire a teenager, age 14 to 17, for up to 2 hours, to assist you.

re:ds260 - that's an online form, you must to use it - no way round it.

    Darnell, thanks for your help,

So the forms i need to submit are I-864 and DS-260 along with civil documents right?

Should i use I-864EZ form for my mom since i'm using co-sponsor & i'm unemployed? can you confirm that please? Help me VJ veterans!!

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3197.html

We received the Immigrant Visa Processing Fee Payment(s) for this case. You must now download and complete the Immigrant Visa Application and submit it with the required original civil documents for the principal applicant and each derivative applicant that will accompany him/her to the United States. Please visit the following website for instructions on how to obtain and submit the Immigrant Visa Application:

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html"

  7. The applicant/beneficiary will be one to fill up the DS-3032 (Choice of Agent) using his/her email account. The beneficiary/applicant will assign the petitioner (YOU) as his/her agent.

    Link to a DS-3032 email template: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form

  9. hello,

I'm an asylee currently living in USA. My country of persecution is China(Tibet). I hold a Nepali passport. I plan to apply for refugee travel documents. I need to know if i'll need tourist visa to travel to India. I've heard from others that Nepali citizens do not need any visa to enter/exit India(SAARC country). So please clear my doubts..

Also when I travel to India do i show my nepali passport or refugee travel documents?

    thanks

  10. greetings,

I am USC. on behalf of my brother i would like to ask for your help. he is an asylee. he wants to attend a religious teachings(we call it "Kalachakra") by His holiness 14th Dalai Lama from December 30th to January 10th, 2012 in India.(thousands of people will be attending). we first thought we had to apply green card then travel documents. So, he completed his immigration medicals and sent packet along with green card application(fee waiver).. we are just waiting... But we realized we could directly apply for refugee travel documents(without having to apply for green card), please correct us if we are wrong...

We would like to know if that could be done & estimate how long will it take to get his travel documents? Also is the filing fee $360 or $135? will he face problems re-entering US? If any of you have been in similar situations, any guidance will be appreciated.. It is very important for him to attend these teachings.

    thank you and god bless.

p.s. No, his asylee is not from India, he is safe to travel to India.

  11. hi,

i've bunch of questions, i did read past posts here and got some info, but would still like answers for specific ones.

I'm a US citizen. my I-130 petition for my mom got approved(filed 20th may). i want to have necessary documents ready for future steps. could you tell me what documents will be required for mom..example. foreign passport, photos, certificates, medical, etc.)? also what is the next step for me after approval? i think next step is send affidavit of support.. i m not sure how will she get green card? do i have to apply it right now or when she is here? what if my mom is a refugee and don't have foreign passport, what document is needed then? My mom don't speak english, little worried for interview. lastly can i expect my mom to arrive here in US by end of December or sooner cos i have some travel plans abroad.

    appreciate your help..thank you.

  12. I'm a USC and would like to bring my parents here. The problem is that few years ago, the US embassy has issued a letter banning my father from visiting USA for 99 years for fraudulent documents and jailed & later released on bail. Now that I am a US citizen, can he still be brought here? Is there any appeals or anything that needs to be done for taking care of such ban letters? Do you recommend hiring lawyers? i ask of any links of similar cases.. How do you handle such case? please help needed..as i dont know where to go from here... :crying:

    any help will be appreciated.
