  1. Hi, just wanted to update that tim had his biometrics appt this past sat in SF-he got there a few mins early and they were all very friendly to him. He had to switch off his phone, fill out some paperwork (they only wanted name, address, SSN -the basics) and he had to turn his cell on to get his ssn (hub does not have a great memory). No problems, they were all very friendly, took his fingerprints and pic and that was it. WE ARE DONE for now and I can't tell you what a relief it is. To all of you still waiting, we honestly thought the waiting would never end (approx 5 mos from mailing I-751 to biometrics appt) so hang in there, I'm sure your turn is coming soon!!! Take care, averi :)

  2. That's great to hear - congrats! I hope ours comes soon too, my application was also accepted on april 2, still no NOA or biometrics. Did you ever get your NOA or did you just get the biometrics notice?

    Hi Pascal,

No, we never received NOA or anything until this biometrics letter. It's been so d@mn long, I forgot what the biometrics appt entails. Lol...I hope you guys get your's soon. Surely, it's a matter of days at this point..?

    :)

  3. Hi all,

I'm just checking in to say that we have still received nothing from csc. I can't even count how many days that is, but it is closing in on 4mos since recieving our stuff. Meanwhile, my husband can't get a CDL because the GC has expired (he tried before it expired but it was less than 60 days from expiry) and our car insurance was asking about why he doesn't have his CDL yet...yeah, get in line DMV, we want the damn thing too. haha

I cannot fathom what is taking so long. Tim has called and they just gave him some receipt number and said he has to wait..then they quoted that they are processing some from ages before our's...still far too much time for my comfort level. They told him to hang on to his case no because that's all he has to claim that he is legal. Doesn't sound right to me, but what are you going to do...I don't know what we would do if his employer wanted proof of extension! yikes!

any word on your end, sean? paschal?other csc'ers?

    :)

  4. Hi chilltown,

I filed with CSC (received on apr 2) and also have gotten nothing. Very stressful! My husband's GC expires in less than 2 weeks. He's going to call them again today. So frustrating, I know. It sounds like you might be better off since at least you got a receipt. ? I don't know...Keep us posted!

    :)

    Good morning all,

I filed through Vermont on April 2.... I still have not received an NOA. I did receive the blue receipt dated 4/26. I see a lot of the Visa Journey members who filed after me have aleady received their NOA and Biometric appointment. Is there anyone else in the same position as I am?

I called up and the Immigration officer mentioned I have to wait at least 45 days from the date I received the blue receipt. I thought it was 45 days from the day the application was filed??

    Thank you guys

  5. Hi guys,

I just wanted to say that we are also STILL waiting. We filed with CSC at the end of March. I seriously thought this was going to be a quick process so I'm with you with the complete confusion over this. My husband called the number for updates before our trip (3 weeks ago) and they didn't really tell him much except to wait for our NOA etc. I think he's going to call again. GC expires in less than 2 weeks. So annoying!

Please keep me posted with your updates. Thanks!

    Pascal07,

I'm glad that things are now moving forward for your guys. What number did you dial to call CSC? Was the wait long? Maybe I should call too. Please provide me with the phone number and any tips.

    Regards

    - Sean

I called the national service center again (because I just can't get over the fact that it's been 70 days and still no NOA...) and it turns out not getting the NOA is only part of the problem. My case is in the system, but they spelled my name wrong! My name was spelled correctly on the appllication, they just entered it wrong. Weird thing is that this isn't the first time this happened - my name was spelled wrongly (a different wrong spelling) on my original green card as well and I had to have it replaced back then!

They now sent a note to CSC to ask them to correct my name and send me an NOA. For what should be a simple process, this I-751 process is turning into quite a mess. Nothing surprises me about USCIS any more...

Even though I'm a newbie here I just want to say thanks for all the posts -- it's a real comfort to hear from others who are going through the same thing...

After much pleading I got a 3-month I-551 stamp this morning (it wasn't easy though...). They said that the case is in the system but that the receipt hasn't been mailed yet. They sent an email requesting that receipt be mailed. So now I'm back to waiting I guess...

I'm still curious to know if we're the only ones having this issue - anyone else having trouble with I-751's at CSC?

  6. Thanks guys, I appreciate the replies. 45 days huh? Is that the waiting time to get an NOA?

We will return from our traveling with his GC still current, but it will expire 2 weeks after we return. I guess we are just in a holding pattern of waiting for news. I am not sure what to do if they send the letter with an appt while we are gone though..? I guess a friend can open the letter for us and hopefully there will be a contact name/number on it and we can let them know we are away...hmmmm...should be interesting I guess!

  7. Hi Sean,

Any news? We also filed our I-751 with CSC on March 31 (received apr 2) and have received nada. I think it's been about 33 days since they've received it so I am with you, wondering where the he!! is going on. I'm wondering if maybe we did get a notice and it went to the recycle bin with the zillion safeway/longs flyers. lol. We are going to the uk in 2 weeks (for 3 weeks) so this could get ugly if we do finally get a biometrics appt during that time...sigh...Just wanted to tell you you are not alone in the waiting game  keep me posted if you hear anything! :)

  8. Hi, we mailed our packet off 3/31 and it was recieved april 2nd. We haven't received a receipt or any biometrics letter and it's worrying because I'm reading here that people get some kind of notice within a couple of weeks and we've just passed 5 weeks. Is there a number we can call or should we just wait? We are leaving for the UK in 2 weeks (for 3 weeks) so we are getting pretty nervous here (greencard exprires june 25)

Anyone have any words of wisdom? Thanks in advance :)

  9. Hi, I've been reading the posts, but don't quite 'get it' as far as the time to expect from filing for removal of conditions and getting it. We were hoping to go to the UK for a wedding at the end of May, but will be filing at the end of March. Is it safe to buy the (sadly v expensive) plane tickets, or is there potential that we won't get whatever it is we need to travel outside the US in 8 weeks? My husband's passport is up then, too, so it's going to be a nice chunk of change outgoing then. lol. Thank you in advance!
