  1. Also FYI to everyone, even though my case was closed yesterday, talking to an operator late yesterday evening was not helpful. As usual when I talked to the operator, she knew nothing of the status change. I am now convinced that many if not all of the operators do not have appropriate visibility to our cases to provide meaningful updates...you can call five different operators and get five different stories.I'm in no way trying to knock the operators themselves, in many cases I'm sure they are doing their best...but it is obvious that they are not given the appropriate tools and visibility...their processes are at least better than those of USCIS operators, but still lacking....just my opinion.

  2. Could it be?? A SIF after midnight?? I've been going crazy, waiting for an update, checking the website several times a day...usually I give up after a certain point in the evening, thinking they won't update anything else until the next day...tonite I was going so crazy and I was wondering if perhaps the website may refresh after midnite eastern time...I know...grasping at straws, but I was up, so what the heck....and guess what?? I got the coveted red box!!!!! I tried three times on two computers...same result...SIF SIF!!

Called the AVR this morning...and the AVR says......case closed on 1/28!!!!! wooohoooo!! I hope and pray that everyone else here gets to hear these words very soon!

I also used the DHL tracking hints in LingChe's shortcut...and I see a package shipped to Costa Rica late yesterday! Looks like it could be mine!

  4. Just to let you all know that I was stuck in the "Final REview' i.e after SIF till close complete from Dec 29th till today Jan 26. I kept calling and two weeks ago I asked for a Supervisor review, the operator sent the case the supervisor for review. I kept calling every day and finally today they said case complete. Now I am hoping for an interview date ASAP.

I am not sure if taking longer because of snow or additional security check. I truly believe its a bit of both, but I think its security check on certain applications.

So after two weeks start pushing.

Thank God at least somebody got an update....finally!

  5. Salam guys ,,,

i just call NVC and the operator said that our case in review process

so what do you think guys i should expect for next days and when?

    thanks in advance

It would be nice to say that, but it seems they are moving slow these days...maybe because of all the snow days, don't know...but I've been stuck in the ambigous "review" bucket since 1/10...best of luck to us all...and pray for the snow and holidays to stop

  6. guys im a little lost here.. we are at NVC now.. we paid the $88 Fee online is showing as paid , i sent the DS3032 online and received the confirmation email... now the IV Fee is avaiable to pay, what do we do..send the I-864 package and after pay the IV Fee or we pay the IV Fee and then send the I864? we dont know what to do and we dont want to do wrong :( if anyone can help us :)

It doesn't matter which one of those two things you do first. I would personally recommend paying the IV fee bill immediately, since you can't send in the DS-230 until you pay that and the status is "paid". But also, as long as your $88 fee is showing paid, you can send the I-864 in asap. As far as the address to send it in, you need to go to the online site where you paid the bill. On the receipt page there is a link to a barcode coversheet. You must print this coversheet off and send it with your AOS package. This coversheet page will have the correct address to mail your I-864 to...good luck.

  7. Oh no...dont tell me that! Was your friend applying for CR-1 visa? If so that blows the 'we only schedule interviews in the first 2 weeks of the month' out of the water. I absolutely cant bear this awful process any longer!! Our very simple RFE has been at NVC for nearly 2 weeks now and still no case complete. I want to call them every day but am afraid that if I do they will get fed up and put the file at the bottom...I had my hopes on a Jan interview...then Feb...now March?? At this rate I'll still be here in the summer :crying:

If someone knows better, please correct me, but it is my understanding that the interview slotting/scheduling process is completely dependent on the embassy/country involved, so blanket statements about them cannot be made. I think it is best that you search this site for others that have gone through the process from your country and check out their timelines.

So NVC is slow now? As soon as we left USCIS now NVC is delaying everything? Oooohhh... still no case number... 12 days since approval at Uscis...

 It seems you cannot catch a break! You got caught up in the transfer to the TSC that took forever and now the NVC has slowed to a crawl...I feel for you

  8. Hello everyone

I called NVC in morning today their system were saying NVC is closed today friday 2011 because of the inclement weather no operator assistant will not be available during this time and blah blah blah, I got so upset after hearing this message. one more day off in NVC.

Then I called NVC again(just for fun) at 3:30 pm PST also spoke to the operator, she said right now they are reviewing package and I should hear something after 2 weeks . 2 weeks is just too much. I hope it gets done earlier

Very interesting! Well, at least we know that there was some work being done today...I thought the whole day was a wash because of the snow! As for the two weeks, I think that's a positive sign...I've never heard of an operator giving such a low time threshold...usually it's the standard "give us 6 weeks" line...heck, 2 weeks may mean 2 days then!

  9. Well stated and I can understand the frustration, but I don't believe the 'crusade' will work. There is a lot more involvd than you guys seem to think.

Sorry, but the 'crusade' attitude is just wearing on me. I'd prefer to just be patient. But that's just me.

Wow...I and wondering if you even know what a crusade is...because people standing up trying to hold their government accountable is not even close to a "crusade". I am held accountable at my job...as I would suspect most people are...why can't the government be held accountable?

  10. Salam guys ,,,

i have kinda weired question of calling NVC

when am try to get the ANR System and want to put the first 3 letters in my case whis is CRO********

i push buttom 3 times for C and another 3 times for R and same for O

but its didnt work and am wondering why?!!

    thanks in advance

When prompted to enter the letters, for "CRO" you would hit the telephone numbers 276 that's it! Then you should hear a message confirming

  11. I called the NVC and got the automated system because they closed at 1:00 due to bad weather. Our file was entered into their system on 1/14/2011 and said they will send the beneficiary information on what to do next. If they send my husband any paperwork he will probably never get it in Egypt or it will be over a month. I want to email the DS 3032. How do I do this so the NVC will send me all paperwork? any information is appreciated.

    thanks,

    Jennifer

There are a couple ways to do this...email and regular mail...if you haven't already done so, I highly recommend reading the LingChe NVC shortcut document here on Visa Journey...you can find it within the NVC Wiki here http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/LingChe_NVC_ShortCut LingCheactually suggests both emailing and mailing, jsut to be sure, which is what I did. Do you have a signed DS-3032 from the beneficiary already? You would need this to go the regular mail route. For email, follow the instructions here http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form make sure to follow the instructions and the email format precisely. Also, send it from as many different email addresses as you have access to, since the NVC spam filters can misroute some emails. I sent mine from four different email addresses and two of the four were ultimately successful...none of the four got the "automated response" right away, but two were accepted finally a few days later and I received acceptance replies.

  12. also, thanks for replying so quick :) I called again and went through the automated system...at least I got the case number now. Tomorrow I will call for the invoice number. What is an AVR?

Great news! Yes, hopefully if it ever quits snowing in NH, you can get some real process now..."AVR" just stands for Automated Voice Response...the same thing you used....the alternative to a live operator.

  13. I called NVC today, got my case number and IIN. Used that information and paid the fees of $88.00. With all the information avaialble, I am a bit confused on next steps. When I read the EZ guide, this is what it says:

    1) After receiving the case from the USCIS, NVC assigns a case# (NVC Case#)

    2) Call NVC at 603-334-0700 to get NVC Case#, to provide both the petitioner and beneficiary email ids and to get IIN (Invoice Identification Number)

    3) Email DS-3032 (Choice of Agent) by the beneficiary to NVCINQUIRY@state.gov making the U.S petitioner as the agent (Email format: http://www.visajourn...il_DS-3032_form)

As I've mentioned, Ive done steps 1 and 2 above. so what im conused about is in step 3 stated above, how does one get the DS-3032. Is that emailed by the NVC to both the petitiner (myself) and beneficiary (husband). Or can my husband just download the form in the link above, and email the NVC? Lingche's NVC short cut says "attempts to mail or email DS-3032 before it's been generated are useless. It's like trying to pay a walter bill for house that hasn't been built yet. " So i am just a bit unsure whether my husband can send in a downloaded ds-3032 without a bar code and such or should we wait for the NVC to send it to him?

If you already have the IIN and have already paid the $88, I'm sure your DS-3032 has been generated...you probably just don't know. As the LingChe shortcut indicates, I would strongly recommend both emailing the DS-3032 and mailing the hard copy...1) for emailing it, follow the instructions in the link you have about EXACTLY. This is not a form to download, you simply type the message very precisely in the body of the email. Also as LingChe suggests, I would use more than one email address. I personally sent mine from 4 different email addresses just to be sure at least one of them got past the NVC spam filters. By the way, I did not get any auto notification that any of the 4 were received. It took them about a week to respond to 2 of my 4 emails, both telling me the DS-3032 was accepted. This is the main reason why I also mailed it, just in case. 2) for mailing it...hopefully you have a signed hard copy from the beneficiary already? If not, your best bet at this point is to hope for the email to work. If you do have a signed copy, follow the LingChe instructions EXACTLY to create your own bar code to paste at the top of the form.

You really want to make sure you nail down this DS-3032. At this point in the process, it will hinder your progress until they accept it. You will not be able to pay you IV DS-230 bill or submit you DS-230 until they accept it. You will be able to move forward with your AOS package as soon as your $88 fee is officially marked paid, but your DS-230 is dead without this DS-3032...so if I were you, that would have all my attention right now....good luck.

I emailed them mine about three times and just in case I mailed them hard copy signed by my wife. You can download the form, fill it out, let

the beneficiary sign it and mail hard copy to NVC. I think you can send email version few days after you have paid AOS fee.

I emailed mine the same day that I paid my AOS fee....both on Christmas Eve...no issues.

  14. I would say wait a few days after your NOA2 date and call NVC and talk to the operator everytime... I just had my IV packet delivered yesterday.. and still the avr system says no record of the case. good luck :)

By no means am I suggesting to always use the AVR in every circumstance. I understand the value of talking to an operator...when it makes sense...and in your case, if you've never been entered into the AVR, you're right, you would need to talk to an operator everytime. Also, in my case, my AVR message now states that the DS-230 has been received, but the AOS has not. This prompted an immediate call to an operator, since I sent in the AOS a full week before the DS-230...and the operator was able to confirm for me that both pieces were received. However, if everyone used the operator option everytime they called, the hotline would be even more difficult to get through than it is now...I don't see the harm in first using the AVR, then, if things don't seem right, ask an operator.

  15. Hey guys, we are joining you since our application was approved JAN 13th at TSC!!! :) So excited!! How are things here? Any good news? :)

Do I understand it correctly: we have to wait one week and then start calling NVC?

Great news to see the TSC is finally taking care of the July-August filers...I would recommend that you start calling the NVC right away, at least using the AVR...you never know...and it doesn't hurt anything to try...you're not even needlessly bugging anyone using the AVR...mine made it to the NVC in 3 business days after NOA2

  16. Urgh! Is it me Kikapoo or do we get more impatient the closer you get to finishing with NVC?!!! I want to know my interview date!! Have the number for DOS, may call them instead today as they apparently can often know the date before the NVC operators - worth a try I guess!

I agree...I remember thinking before I got my NOA2 that once I had that in my hand, I would be more relaxed, knowing the NVC stage goes by quicker....yeah right....reality is that I am more obcessed now than ever!
