  1. Hi everyone,

I entered the US on March 15th with my K1 visa

got married on April 8th and on May 3rd sent in the application package for the AOS and an EAD as well (to the Chicago lockbox)

It's been 22 days and I have not received any notifications nor was the check cashed.

When I called I was told that I have to wait until 30 days go by (!!!!!!!!!!)

When I entered the country I got a temp 90 day work permit stamp on my I-94, but it expires on June 13th.

Is there anyway to extend that? Or is that the EAD (which I understand takes about 3 months to get)

What happens after I get the NOA1? Will I be legal after June 13th?

I feel like I missed something...

Does anybody have any light to shed on my situation?

Did you mail yours regular mail or express? I sent my AoS and EAD last May 11. I noticed from Visajourney that most AoS applicants received their NOA1 within 15 days. I too am worried. Check, not yet posted either....

  2. Thanks, Appreciate the information from someone who actually experienced receiving their visa from 2Go. The other folks should stop making other remarks if they haven't gone through the process. It just frustrates and confuses other folks.

  3. This should be pinned because it seems that most people don't know how to track their visa after interview.

To anyone that wants to know how to track the visa

    Go to 2go website e-trace 2go.com.ph

Enter NVC number. It will show invalid until 2go receives the visa from the embassy.

Typically its 1 week minimum after interview before arriving at 2go delivery service. Expedited will be sooner.

In my wifes case it was 10 days after the interview before it appeared in the 2go tracking system.

The next day it was delivered to my wifes home.

Thanks, Appreciate the information from someone who actually experienced receiving their visa from 2Go. The other folks should stop making other remarks if they haven't gone through the process. It just frustrates and confuses other folks.

  4. Well i thank God for everything he has done for me and my fiancee but truly for me,i think everything is happening so fast....i meet my fiancee 3 years ago and we became best friends later fall in love after over 8 months of talking daily on line and over the phone.on that period of time, she broke her legs and went through surgery and Thank God she finally recovered fully and i was there to support her and always cheer her up as much as i could, and she was so happy after her recovery, she visited me and we had good times and she met my family and she got to know more about me and all that..............And During my service year, she came visiting me the second time and we finally got engage and we decided to get married and i told her that we will get married but that i must finish my one year compulsory service to Nigeria (NYSC).she agreed and waited patiently and we still continue our yahoo chat and web cam and i understand with in myself that is just so hard to wait without having things moving and as much it was hard for me either to wait knowing how much we missed each other everyday that goes by....but we decided to wait and we keep waiting,Both my parents and her parents agreed with us for me to finish my service year before we finally get married, like we both decided,Her parents are both Nigerians but live in US....But we had a challenge, the Nigerian weather was too hard on her skin the two times she visited,so she was not able to stay long, but at any rate,we had fun and fun and fun....and Now,in Jan 2011,we decided to file k-1 visa for us to get married shortly after my arrival in the US knowing that i will be done with my service year in Feb 10,so we did file and we got our NOA1 in 8th of february,2011 and we were hoping that it will take like 4 to 5 months before the approval,we were approved in 3rd March 2011,That was just 23 days from Noa1 and As we drop this note,Our package is on its way to Nigerian Consulate from NVC...We were very happy and we thank our God for her blessing in us..Fortunately,now that am done with my service year,i got an offer letter to start working in one of the leading Nigerian banks that i served with to resume work next week..And i just told my fiancee about the good news and she was so mad about the offer letter,i just told her is just an offer that i never plan on staying back after the whole process is done with my visa,But she is just so worried and she is telling me not to accept the offer,i mean i don't know what to say..In me,i don't have any issues with me leaving the job behind and getting married to my fiancee shortly after my arrival in the US like we have always dreamt of becus i know i truly love her with all that i am and becus she was there for me when i was even still a student, she supported me,encourage me,waited patiently for me and i truly am willing to do whatever that will make her happy....i just want her to understand that i just needed to be working for now till we get everything done, then i will resign but she just want me NOT to accept the offer at this point...But my concern is that she is so worried with this new development of me getting an offer to start working at this point and she is worried that i might not be coming like we agreed on which i don't have plan whatsoever not to.....PLS how do i make her understand that i am still coming even as much as i have this offer, that i still love her and that we are getting married as soon as i arrive...Well anyway....i have called her parents and explain things to them and they agreed with what am saying, but right now ,she refuse to take calls from her parents and even discussing anything about that....pls advise,My Mom promise to talk to her today but i have not called her yet to know how the conversation went...PLS VJ,i never wanted to discuss this over here but is getting beyond me....she is calling me over and over and over again to know what i decided on doing.....pls urgent advice.....thanks....

You need to decide which is more important. You need to ask yourself, you can always get a job, can you always get someone like her?

  5. If I do not get my NOA2 tomorrow, then the officer who has my case should get an earful from SOMEONE on Monday. Saturday marks 30 days since my case was assigned to an officer (and they said it would be adjudicated in 30 days). And 5 days since I requested an expedite (and they said they would get back to me within 5 days). But I don't expect to hear from them.

So, here's the plan. On Saturday morning, I am sending out FOUR letters: one to my Congressman, two to my Senators, and one to the USCIS Ombudsman. I hope that these letters will arrive Monday. I plan to call all these places Monday as well. This is the second time I am contacting my Senator. The bulk of of my letter is below. I described my situation and then added this:

"I know that I am not the only one who has experienced a delay in the processing of my I-129F petition. Petitioners who call the National Customer Service Center after 5 months are told that they must wait longer because there is a backlog of I-129F petitions. This is disconcerting because the director of USCIS Alejandro Mayorkas stated in a press conference on February 17, 2011 that “I believe we have eliminated our backlogs.” (See attached print out #1). I feel that it is imperative that you, as [the USCIS Ombudsman/ my state Senator/ my Congressman], are aware of the abnormally long processing times at the Vermont Service Center for I-129F petitions, particularly if these delays are not being acknowledged or addressed by the Director. The number of approvals in the fall of 2010 was exceptionally low, and in December 2010, USCIS processed fewer I-129F petitions than any month in the previous 2 years, even though application receipts remained steady (see attached print out #2).

I can think of no other explanation for this trend except that many I-129F petitions were set aside for several months to put priority processing on other petition types. As an institution that is funded almost entirely by user fees, I find it unconscionable that K1 petition filers – who are all U.S. citizens themselves and who were paying $455 to file the I-129F in September – could be moved to such a low priority for such an extended period of time.

That said, it appears that many others who have submitted their application at the same time as mine or after mine have already been processed, at both the California Service Center and the Vermont Service Center (see attached print out #3). I have waited my turn and, given these trends, it should not be unreasonable to request attention to my case, as well as the others who submitted their K1 visa petitions around the same time and have waited patiently."

I included printouts of the transcript of Mayorkas, the USCIS website processing trends, and visajourney petition trends, as well as a copy of my NOA1.

If this doesn't work, I know I have tried everything within my power.

YOUR THE MAN! GOOD LUCK

  6. Hello!I also got the same error when i tried getting my interview date, but luckily one of the vj member helped me out. Here the link where you can download your letter for the interview..http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/ScheduleanAppointment.html . Just type in your passport number, UID, and password. Good luck!

Did this one too but still the same result. The Call Center said the case should be in the USEM system/database first before we can schedule an appointment. I am more frustrated here than waiting for my NOA2. So close but more waiting .....

  7. My fiancee and I are trying to schedule her interview online. I went to the K-Visa Scheduling link, I entered her passport #, MNL case #, date of payment, date of birth, password, and image code. I keep getting the error "Case Type Number not valid." I have tried MNLxxxxxxxxxx and I have tired the number without MNL. Same error both times.

    Any suggestions?

    -James

Have the same problem. Called the Call Center also to make appointment but they are saying my case is still not in the system. I was instructed to wait for the USEM Eligibility Letter before I could set up an appointment.

  8. Yes thats a good guess ... from the Adjudicators Manual:

    http://www.uscis.gov/ilink/docView/AFM/HTML/AFM/0-0-0-1/0-0-0-1067/0-0-0-1749.html#0-0-0-292

I suppose that the following covers that possibility?

"USCIS -wide policy pertaining to the type of application or petition being filed, such as The USCIS Director's fiscal year priority that backlogs in a given type of application or petition be reduced to a specified level;"

I don't think approving new applicants right away will reduced your backlog. The backlog will still be there because your not approving them. It will however reduce the averages, which your not really solving the backlog problem but skewing the averages to show the the timeline to review and approve petitions is within specified level.

  9. From the Igor's list for Vermont service centre, it seems December filers have been completely forgotten as if they are not part of the petitioners here. Looking at the graph while petitions in other months are being processed rapidly even February, December is completely dormant. :(

How fair is it that those that filed in January and February are being rapidly approved and some people are waiting for 6/7months :crying: for same approval when it only takes 10/15 mins to approve a petition.

I know my journey just began nevertheless, I have been waiting patiently and happy for those getting approval knowing fully well that its is first-come -first-serve basis till that time when I will receive my own approval. However, after seeing all these (especially Jan and Feb approval ), I couldn't help but begin to wounder what is actually going on.

I am glad that others are succeeding but shouldn't it be in order :innocent:

I guess it might be too early for me to start venting and getting anxious knowing that I still got more months ahead. All the same i wish someone with inside information would enlighten me on why this is so

FYI, these are from Igor's List: These quick NOA2s just started in February this year. From July 2010 thru Jan 2011, its a miracle to see one of these, unless its "Expidited". Now they are all over the place. I already got my NOA2, but I agree this is mind boggling. We are always happy for folks to get quick approvals but it should be "first come first serve basis". These does not include the one's that did not update their timeline.

  10. Wait, I think the discussion got sidetrack. The point is, its hard to understand why some petitions get approved within a month when majority has to wait more than 4 months to get approve. There should be just one process to approve these petitions. If USCIS can approve it less than a month, why not approved all the easy one's (no RFEs) within a month. Why the delay? Job Security.....

  11. what I am seeing is a lot of approvals for the Philippines quickly recently. Not sure of the reason why.

So I'm not the only one that noticed that there are several of these less than 1 month NOA2 approvals. Very irritating for those who is still waiting for several months now.

Congratulations though. A New Journey Begins.

  12. Try calling the Embassy's call center. Maybe they can schedule you for a better date.

Called today 3x just to make sure, YES! There is no available schedule period! :( The call center told me to keep trying. I thought that was unusual, the call center agent said the same thing. They don't know when a new schedule will come out. What is going on? :bonk:

  13. For several months, majority of us K-1 filers have waited and is still waiting for NOA2s. For about a couple of weeks now, there has been a noticeable amount of NOA2's that was approved from less than 1 month to 2 months. Congratulations to these folks. Most of these petitioners were surprised to say the least. I know, curiosity kills the cat, but I can't stop wondering what's going on with CSC? Does anybody know what's going on?

  14. Hello and good day,

I have met a nice, sweet filipina. I went to visit her for the 2nd time this past January (first time was February 2010). I am certain I want to petition for her now. There is a small obstacle, if you will. She is PREGNANT for over a month now. I am debating in whether or not to start the K1 Visa process while she is pregnant. I would be willing for her just to have the baby there. If I wait until she has the baby there, How do I file for her and the baby? Would it take longer to do so? She tells me that she is fine to seek the K1 Visa before she has the baby. Would the baby be an American citizen IF the baby is born there?

    your replies will be appreciated!,

    Angel

I would start petitioning her NOW. For a couple of reasons. You don't have to petition another person, the cost for K-2 is over $1000.00 plus. The most important reason, when the baby is born here, the baby is already a US citizen, no more petition for the baby. You save time and money if you do it now. Who knows, your K-1 application might be quicker because of her situation. If the baby is born in the Philippines, the baby won't be a US Citizen. You have to file a separate K-2 for the baby along with the K-1 Fiancee Visa, if the baby is born in the PI.

  15. Interesting and i thought my wifes parents were poor. Not even close compared to your situation. Anyway, I tried to "expedite" my wife because my father suddenly became ill last August. I got a note from the doctor and sent it to immigration. My father passed away on Sept 10th and i called the USCIS to expedite again. They did nothing. Immigration could care less about your situation or anybody who goes through this process. You're a number to be processed and that's it!

And my wife and i are still waiting thanks to my incompetent lawyer, it will be almost a year since we submitted. I hope you don't have wait as long as my wife have been waiting. Best of luck to you, i hope you have better luck than my wife and i have had.

Lawyers...there is a reason why they have lawyer jokes you know.

  16. the family has never been outside of the area they are in. 1) they never have been to mcdonalds or jollibee until I took them. 2) going shopping is a rarity to them. 3) there is nowhere to send while waiting, all of the family pretty much lives in the village from what I know. 4) the furthest I know of them going is butuan or cagayan de oro. 5) I am having her get her vaccinations now, I will be paying for all of these. 6) I also paid for her cousin to take her exams for graduation.

Why not! No harm in trying. Lately we have people getting their NOA2 approved within a month for no reason whatsoever, you might get lucky.

  17. hi all! i am new here to the forum with a question. this may be the wrong place for it, but....

    here goes...

my boyfriend lives in seattle, WA

    i live in vancouver, BC

i have been visiting every other month for 3-5 days each time i go. i tell border i am seeing friends.

i want to marry him in the USA. i want to live in the USA. i want to work in the USA.

what is the easiest, fastest way to go about this?

You might want to ask or look which way is the cheapest because they are about the same except for cost and the issuance of a green card (i think).
