  1. Hi

Just to let you know I am also waiting. My sister USC filed I-130 back in April 2005. I travel back and forth to the USA every 3- 4 months and I know the feeling. Now have a Senator in Florida who is looking into the applications on my behalf so hopefully I may have a good result but I'm not holding my breath about it. What gets me mad and I've also asked this questions many things is that when you check on the progress, the date havent changed in the last 18 months.

By the way how did Beckham get a visa so quickly ??????

Hang in there you arent alone.

  2. Hello Kez

I hear how you feel and know just how hard it is for you and your son. I applied for my daughter in 2005 and the wait seems to be a lifetime. I just wanted you to know you aren't on your own in this, that there are more of us in the same situation and to keep strong. I have just got back from UK today after visiting my daughter and it never gets any easier.

    bye for now

    Maggie

Just mailed off the I-130 for my son.... he was over on vaccation and he flew home to Scotland last night :crying::crying: .... so I thought today would be a good day to mail it.... so I am thinking it will be about 8 years before a visa becomes available for him... but I will upgrade it once I become a citizen... that might save a year or two....

    Kez

Thanks Maggie..... its so hard when your 6' 2" 26 year old son is in tears at the airport saying "Mum I so wish I could just stay" He can not understand how my Mum and dad will get their Visa's within 12 months of my citizenship but he has to wait years.... I have no answers for him..

  3. Hi,

I am permanent resident here, and know that I need to wait until I become a US Citizen if I wish to sponsor my parents and brother to live in the US. Does anyone know the timelines for UK citizens? My parents are both retired and my brother is in his 40's now. Would they even be eligible to be sponsored?

Also, would they be able to visit me here in the US whilst a petition was in process?

    thanks so much

    Hi Britty

First, my sister is a US citizen and applied for my I-130 back in 2004 and still waiting. What really gets me annoyed is when you go to check on what date they are processing it seems this visa for brother or sister then dates havent changed for the last 18 months so who knows how long this will take. I've asked my sister to get her senator involved and try and find out why this visa takes so long when other family visas dont, yes I understand about getting a visa number etc etc.

Yes they would be able to travel while this visa is being processed. I travel back and forth to the States at least 5 times a year and havent had any trouble.

    Hope this help

  5. Hi Everyone

I am hoping someone out there can answer my question.

Was checking the processing times for I-130 Alien Relative, my sister in florida has applied for me, I am a UK citizen and it seems that the date for ths visa hasnt changed for the last 18 months.

Does anyone know how I can contact them via email to find out why this date has never changed. Because if that's the case then I will never get my visa.

    Thanks

  6. Hi Everyone

I hope someone can asking my question.

My sister USC living in Florida and Iam a UKC. So I have to wait for a visa to become available under the fourth preference which could take a number of years. At the moment I've only been waiting just over a 1.5years.

What I want to know is while I am waiting for that can i apply for a B2 Holiday visa which allows me to stay in the states for 6months and with luck you can have it extended ???

also is there anyone out there from UK who is in the same situation and if so, how long have you been waiting.

    thanks.

    Karen

  7. Hi

I am awaiting for my I-130 visa which is thought my sister (USC) who lives in Florida and yes I know the general reply when you put in your application for the visa is 999 days. On a general note i was just wondering what peoples timescale have been. I live in the UK. It's been one year and I know it will be another few years yet. Would be nice to hear about peoples experiences in the same situation in terms of how many years that had to wait before approval.

    Thanks.

  8. hey, i am new to this website but i have done a lot of reading on it and it seems like the most helpful website out there. i have a few questions. i met my girlfriend online a few years ago and then in the summer of 2005 i came to visit her on the VWP and i stayed for the 3 months that we are allowed, i then returned to the UK for 3 months and then came back for a month to visit her again. after that i was in the UK for 2 months and then came back for 6 weeks to surprise her on her birthday, however i got serious questions the last time i i tried to get past the customs man at chicago. he gave me a real hard time, he asked me how much money i had, what kind of job i had in the Uk and my reasons for visiting and what i`ll be doing the whole time. this lasted for about 10 minutes of me just standing there talking to him. it scared the ####### out of me. i understand now that i was entering too much, i just naively thought that if i didn`t overstay the 90 days then i`m not doing anything wrong. my question now is though, how long should i leave it before i try and come back? i know that a lot of you have reported trouble at the customs when trying to visit your boyfriends or girlfriends. we plan to file for the K1 visa next year and are trying to worko ut how to see eachother at least a couple of times a year without me being turned away and sent back to the UK. so can anyone give me any advice? any similar experiences? i`m thinking that i won`t be coming back for about 6 months, will this be sufficient? if i come back in like 6 months and only stay for about 4 weeks? or do you think that this could still be a big problem? i am so confused by it all!!

any help or advice at all would eb so hugely appreciated.

thank you, i hope to hear from you all

    Paul

    Hi Paul

I travel to Cleveland from the UK via Chicago every 3 months to see my boyfriend, I stay anything from one to 3weeks at a time. I never yet had any problems with immigration at chicago in fact I like going though Chicago because I think the immigration people there are the best. They usually ask me what my job is, who I am going to see - I tell them my Boyfriend, they then just say ok and off I go.

  9. Hello all

I just wanted to make contact with all new members that have submitted their K1 to nebraska within the last month. Ours was sent out on 27 march. I personally would like to make contact with those that are possibly moving to the ohio area and are from anywhere local to the midlands area. I my self will be moving to Columbus Ohio and I live in Leicestershire. I would like to make contact so that we can give each other support (its always nce to talk to someone, especially if you are a big worrier like me lol) and even meet up at the embassy for the interview LOL. I would like to communicate either by email, yahoo messenger or by phone if at all possible. This site is very useful and very supportive but I would feel alot more confortable knowing there are people out there close to me also in the same boat. And sometimes typed messages can get misinterpreted, hence i love to talk LOL. So feel free to send me a private message or contact me to swap numbers, emails yahoo ID etc. If you are not moving to the ohio area thats fine too :)
