  1. Hello VJ,

My hubby finally received his Passport on Friday stamped APPROVED. He was at the Embassy on 3/8 and dropped off a second medical and his passport and paid the DHL fee and was told that he would receive his Passport within 14 days. Things were unsettling because he was'nt told approved nor was he told denied so we had been waiting. We finally received approval and his ticket is BOOKED!!! Thank you so much to all of you for always being available to answer any questions that we had along the way. It has been such a long journey but so worth the wait. Thanks again for all of your help. I am so very grateful.

BTW....for all in the predicament with drug admission..this is a case where in Nov 2010 he admitted to last marijuana use Jan 2010. He had to wait until one year since last use to submit a second medical report. The one year mark was Feb 1, 2011. He received a new medical report, we scheduled the interview (which was more of a document drop off), and finally received approvald. Good Luck to all VJ'ers still in the process.

  2. You'll are approved unless the new medical show something other wise.

    Congrats

Thank you for your reply. Have a great evening.

moved from Asia: East and Pacific to Latin America, Mexico & the Caribbean as that's the proper forum for the embassy in question.

  3. Good Evening VJ,

I always receive good feedback so here we go again. So, my husband went to the Embassy in Kingston on Tuesday. During his last visit, he was told to complete a new medical examination (after the one year anniversary of last admitted marijuana use). He completed the examination and returned to the Embassy. An officer (not the same one that he has had during his two previous interviews) took the medical package and asked for his Passport. He was given the slip to pay DHL and told him that the package would go to the Consulate and that he will receive his Passport back in two weeks. I love my honey to the ends of the earth but he had no answer when I asked "so were you approved?"

I emailed the embassy in order to receive a clear, concise (ha ha) answer regarding the same question, "are we approved" "denied" what? This was the response:

The Passport and new Medical has been passed to the Officer. Once the officer

has reviewed the documents brought in they will prepare the package for

    printing.

    Regards,

    Visa Unit

Ok. I can make some assumptions here but I prefer not to so....what do you all think???? Thanks so much in advance.

  4. Today after 8 months since we send our petition my love got approved!!! I would like to thank everyone who has supported us and been there to help us along the way. We couldn't have done it without this site!!! It feels like a huge weight has been lifted and now my life can finally begin!!! I am so excited!!!! I'm writting a review of what happend now!!!!

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Congratulations! I am so happy for you and your honey!! Love life...

  5. Well I instructed my parents not to go and get the shorts prior because I spoke with the medical people there and was told they would not accept the shot if it was done say 1-3 months before the interview. They would tell applicants this by phone.

Ricardo4eva2..this is crazy because they told my husband not to get any shots within 2 weeks. My aunt is a nurse and she stated that this might be because they don't want adverse reactions but really.....you have to have all of the required shots anyway whether the same day at the medical appointment or within the months before. I guess that the real answer will never stand up. Everything is such a rip off that you don't really know when an action is legitimate or not. Thanks for your response. Have a great evening.

  6. No doctor in good concussion would have given someone the same shots again if there were proof that the patient had just received them. Giving someone a double dose of an antibiotic or viral could lead to life threatening situation or illness. Therefore the patient should have question why they are being given a second dosage of something they just previously had. If this doctor is part of the panel of doctors that the US embassy use as a referral, they know they are under scrutiny by the US govt as well under their own government. In saying all of this something doesn't sound right, why would a doctor risk his medical license for such a small fee, if the doctor had evidence that a patient had received these shots previously and then to give them again is bad medical practice.

What evidence do you have that your SO had received these same shots within such a small time frame, do you have copies of his shot record?

Yes, no doctor in good conscience should. Yes, the doctor is at Montego Bay Hope which is a panel facility. I understand that it doesnt sound right and that is why I posted here. The doctor said to my husband that he did not understand why he had to receive the immunizations again but that he was going to proceed since that is what he was told to do. My husband received the first set at that same location so they had that in his records along with the records that he had with him. Like I said previously, he said he knows that it did not sound right but that he did not wish for further delay. I am waiting for them to provide us with the medical report and then I will be taking the Medical Center ON!!! Thanks for your response. Have a great evening.

  7. if you dont mind me asking where did he have his medical exam done, because I would like to make sure that I don't have my fiance to go to him because I don't want to add more time to Jason getting over here if he has to go a second time, I saw that there is one in Montego Bay, which I was going to have him to go.

Thank you for your response. No, I don't mind. He had the medical at Montego Bay Hope in Half Moon Shopping Center. Have a great evening.

  9. Hello VJ Fam:

Quick question. My husband had to complete a second medical examination. His first was in November and he received the remainder of immunizations that he did not already have. Well, he returned to the same location for the 2nd medical examination and was administered the same shots that he received in November. I know that usually this is not permitted once you can prove that you received the shots and that it in fact can cause illness. My husband said that he just went with the flow because he did not want any further delay with his process. Has anyone experienced this or is this another money making racket? Thanks in advance for your responses.

  10. Hi VJ, did I tell you that I love you lately? :D:luv:

    Question:

Is it best to put all the pictures in a ziplock bag with the dates written on the back of each photo, or should I put them in a photo sheet protector so that each picture can be viewed individually without having tot take them out?

thanks in advance for your experience/thoughts!

Hey JAPrincess...Honestly. We just printed our pics from our wedding and other pics from trips. They were regular 4 x 6 printed at the local Walgreen's Pharmacy. They were in no plastic protectors or anything else but just placed in the package. No request for further evidence received. However, we did provide quite a few pics. Hope this helps but I don't think that there is any need to jump through any extra hoops. Take Care..

  11. Hi all,

My medical is coming up, and i was wondering if anyone knew how much it will cost for me and my 4yr old son?

we both are missing one shot.so take that in consideration when you reply, if it helps. i called the medical

facility that will conduct the medical and was told by the lady on the phone to take $50,000 jamaican dollars

that is roughly us$700.00 but i think that is way too expensive. so if any one can share any info that would be

appreciated, and anyone from jamiaca who had their medical done already would be an assett.

    thanks guys.

Vett, correction. My husband paid approximately that amount for several shots and a urine test. He stated that he paid approximately $1200 for one shot.

    Vett,

The cost depends on where you are going. Montego Bay Hope Medical Center charged approximately $100 for the physical but the center in Kingston quoted us a fee of $200. The shots, if you have to get them at the center, are expensive. I think that my husband paid between $3000-$5000 for the shot that he needed. Hope that helps.

  13. Thankyou! I will pray for your interview soon! I hope you get to be with your hubby soon!

So far in our case we are at the NVC stage. I submitted my AOS and it has been accepted with no RFE's, entered into the system. My hubby just sent in his IV stuff a week ago. So we are closer to a interview soon... i hope.

We do have some updates about his prior arrests though. The marijiuna we got a synopsis from the police station and it seems he had not even 1 gram of marijuna on him it was something like 0.0657 or something. And when the police officer caught him he just put him in the back of the cop car then took his stuff away, and let him go... i guess he just put it in the police system. Thenn the police records also say that the judge had the charges withdrawn. Soo he has no conviction for marijuina. and the other purse senario he was on a conditional discharge for a year and the charges were dropped. So God willing everything will be okay!

Everything will be just fine. My hubby had his interview yesterday and it was disappointing but not denied. He has to have a second medical and return for another interview at which time he was told he will just drop off the medical and his passport. This process has been long but I strongly believe that everything is for a reason. So, he just needs to have the medical after Feb 1 and then we request the interview. I sure hope that the interview date will be close. Take care..

  14. hey guys

i previously posted that i got yesterday my interview date for feb 2,2011. i contacted the hospitals to do the medical and they said it would take 10 working days for the results to be obtained. therefore the time is a bit short.

Am askin for your advice if i should jus reschedule the interview or go to the interview without the medical and the consulate would tell me what to do from there.? :help:

We were in the same predicament where we could not get our medical results before our interview. I emailed the embassy to seek advice (these are the instructions that are given on the website) and they told us to keep our date. It was a hassle because we had the interview 11/2, had the medical 11/10, the results were ready 11/25, and I emailed them on 11/18 seeking a new interview date which was scheduled for 1/21/110. You should probably follow the instructions and let them tell you how to proceed. Hope it all works out.
