  1. Food Safety and Tracking Improvement Act - Amends the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA) to require the Secretary of Health and Human Services to establish a traceability system for all stages of manufacturing, processing, packaging, and distribution of food through which the Secretary can retrieve the history, use, and location of each article of food shipped in interstate commerce. Amends the Federal Meat Inspection Act, the Poultry Products Inspection Act, and the Egg Products Inspection Act to require a person (other than a household consumer) who has reason to believe that any meat, poultry, egg, or egg product handled by such person is adulterated or misbranded to notify the Secretary of Agriculture of the identity and location of the article. Directs the Secretary, upon finding that the article is adulterated or misbranded and there is a reasonable probability that human consumption would present a threat to public health, to: (1) provide all appropriate persons an opportunity to cease distribution of the article, make appropriate notifications, and recall the article; and (2) require an immediate cessation of distribution if voluntary action is not taken. Authorizes the Secretary to: (1) refuse to provide, or to withdraw, inspections of an establishment for willful or repeated violations of the respective Act; (2) deny or suspend inspection in the public interest to protect the health or welfare of consumers or to ensure the effective performance of an official duty under the respective Act; and (3) assess civil penalties for violations. Amends the FFDCA to require a person (other than a household consumer or other individual who is an intended consumer) who has reason to believe that an article of food introduced into interstate commerce is adulterated or misbranded in a manner that, if consumed, may result in illness or injury to notify the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Directs the Secretary, upon finding that to be the case, to: (1) provide all appropriate persons an opportunity to cease distribution of such article, make appropriate notifications, and recall the article; and (2) require an immediate cessation of distribution if voluntary action is not taken. Allows the Secretary to assess penalties for prohibited acts.

  2. Interestingly enough I was a GOP'er at one point and time and find this article lame and lacking information. I mean if you don't want anyone overseeing how these foods are made and what exactly the food is made of (mislabeled or adultered) then why don't you go to China and just have a field day on chiken feet and beaks labeled as white meat chicken breast. What kind of paranoia do people live in today that they think the governmetn is going to go to their front step and steal the ho-ho's and twinkies from underneath them. The act is purely making sure that white meat is white meat, and that tainted food can be noticed earlier rather than later through electronic means rather than the old process of yester year.

  3. I guess I can help answer this as I was reading this yesterday freaking out that I might've sent my package to the wrong address. I used Express Mail and sent it to the physical S Dearborn address. The package was sent yesterday by me at 3:30pm and got to the destination the next day at 11:30am signed for and delivered. I do think you should probably waive the signature required since it doesn't really do anything and god forbid something happens where absolutely no one is there that USPS would have to bring the package back to the office. As for the direct time difference between express to the PO box or street address is unknown as no one here probably knows about USCIS box pickup times or where these packages go after pickup. All I'm saying is both work

  4. This was all you needed to write "Obama’s efforts, and the global reactions to them, are reminding the world that global tensions still arise out of perceptions of self-interest, regardless of who is in the White House." That's it, instead you go off on a premise no one thought to begin with in that all the worlds problems was because of Bush. That obviously wasn't the case, the problem with Bush was that he was a complete idiot led by evil people like Karl Rove and ####### Cheney. The fear being that these guys lead the most powerful country in the world and they knew how to manipulate the masses to do whatever they wished. The main problem other countries have with america are the policies we have in place that restrict other countries and try to prohibit others from challenging our power.

  5. So my wife and I are finally preparing to send out our i-130 and i-485 together. She is hoping to go and visit her parents in Colombia in February. We are contemplating filing the Application for Travel Document. The problem is I have heard numerous horror stories for overstay immigrants. She is an overstay for around 14-16 months now. We have been married for 4 months and, I know, probably should've nailed down this paperwork early. But is it true that even though we might receive advanced parole their is no certainty that she will be allowed to travel back to the US or allowed entry to the US? And once that happens does it effect the processing for i-485 any? From looking at a lot of your timelines I am right close to when she will accepted in February and the advanced parole would be good insurance. Any help? Or anyone have experience in these?

  6. So I married my Colombian wife 2 months ago today and we are finally working on these forms. We got a lot of her forms (birth cert, family marriage license, vaccination record). And we just had a couple of questions before we submit.

    1) On question #15, should we admit that her Visa has expired?

    2) We got our passport style photos today, but should we include wedding photos and such? Or is there anything to add that isn't included in the checklist that would help in the long run?

    3) Does it matter, time response wise, if we only file i-130 now and then the i-485 once we get confirmation rather than submitting both at once. (dont think we are ready paperwork wise to compile the entire i-485 specifications) Basically would it be smarter to get the i-130 out now since we are ready and work on the i-485 and send out when ready, or should we wait until we are finished with both and send at same time?

    4) If we file at the same time, can we file the travel request and work request with it too?
