  1. I am really new at this and have some questions...one is my step-daughter is in Honduras...can I file for her as an immidiate relative? Will that speed up the process of her getting over here with us?

      Hi treyfort!

I am also filing for my step-daughter. The natural parent or the step-parent can petition her. The USC parent would be faster, though. Did you marriage take place before your step-daughter's 18th birthday? That would be the most ideal scenario. And yes, that will speed up the process.

I am really glad to hear that...yes the marriage took place before she was 18...we got married Aug 3rd of this year and Aprile (my step-daughter) is 16. I am a U.S. Citizen I was born in Indiana and my wife was born in Honduras we met by the internet and then met in person and we fell in love, and I could not imagine my life without her...I really need to get my step-daughter here with us to make my wife and my daughter happy. There is no biological father for Aprile because he has never been...
