But as I read few VJeris people reviews most of them got informed that they will be in AP, at the time of interview. but in my case I just received a letter that says congratulations your visa will be ready in 3-4 days. why? my name is not a common name, even it's not Islamic name.so why they should put me in AP?

My fiance is also Iranian and applied through the consulate in India. He was also placed on AP, but it only took about 2 weeks. I'm pretty sure its just for name and background checks. I kept calling DOS and they finally told me on what day his visa was issued. Got it a couple business days after. Good luck!

If he is resident in India he can process in India. It is on the Consulate web site.

My fiance has his interview next week but we just heard some bad news from someone in his situation.

My fiance is Iranian but has been living in India (on a student visa) for the past 5 years. We applied through the chennai embassy in India for a K1 visa. He just heard that someone was denied a K1 visa beacause the US embassy in India is not allowed to issue someone with an Iranian passport a visa.

I called NVC and the department of state and they said that this is not true. They said that if you are currently residing in a country, then you can get your visa there.

Now we dont know who to believe because there is conflicting information. Does anyone else know anything about this or have experienced this???

Or does anyone else have an Iranian passport and was issued a visa in another country(Not including Dubai or Turkey)??

You dont get an NVC number you get an embassy number.

I called almost 100 times yesterday and finally got through. Talk to an operator because the automated message isn't always correct. Mine said they havn't received my file but the operator told me it has already left NVC and on its way to the embassy... good luck!

Thanks everyone... Ya I need to call back to get my NVC number. I was too excited/shocked and I totally forgot.

I got my NOA2 last week 11-8 and have been trying to call NVC to see if they have received my file. The automated system keeps saying that it has no record of my file. So I decided to wait to speak with an operator just to make sure. He told me that my file was forwarded to the embassy today! I’m starting to doubt him because the automated system said they haven’t received my file. Also, it is almost too fast. Has this happened to anyone?? Do I trust the operator or the automated system??

Got my NOA2 in the mail today!!! It is dated 11/8. I am a late june filer... I signed up the the email and text alert but didnt get any and my case status hasnt updated either. Good luck to everyone else!!!
