  1. my husband and i both bank with TD (him US mine Canadian) and i just signed the checks into his name (if it was both) and it was fine, but plain cash gave us some issues ... maybe a Western Union would be good?

*i used to bank with the Canadian TD

  2. just a heads up, some schools require a sponsor to have so much money in their bank, and they do specifically ask if you are staying with a boyfriend/girlfriend (a friend of mine did school in the US and i was shocked that even thought they were getting a Cdn loan (OSAP) they were required to have a sponsor with XXX amount of money...

    Good luck

  3. personally i think too it goes on how fast you reply back to RFE etc, because my case was going pretty fast until i took abit to reply to an RFE ( i did do my biometrics 3 days after having my daughter ...... ) but i got an RFE 1 week after for proof of assests/co-sponsor and being so busy i took almost 2 months to respond and then got my case started back up Sept 1st ... sooo i think it not only depends on who`s doing you case but when you send things ....

  4. So i responded to my RFE on sept 1st, and i checked my email etc for updates for a NOA2 which there was none, but tonight checking, it says

    " Case Status Retrieval Failed

To view the status of a case, please enter the corresponding application receipt number. The 13-character application receipt number can be found on application notices you have received from the USCIS. It begins with three letters such as (EAC, WAC, LIN, or SRC). Dashes ("-") should be omitted when entering a receipt number. However, all other characters, including asterisks ("*"), can be included if listed on your notice as part of the receipt number.

Listed above are the possible steps an application or petition may go through during processing. Not every application or petition will spend time in each of these steps. Once you enter your receipt number you will see the steps that will always be required for that particular application or petition. The step in the process where your case is currently located will be highlighted. Other steps will appear if your case requires that particular step."

Does this mean anything or should i be calling in?

[sent in i-130, EAD and AOS at once] my receipt said MSC

  5. That's the way this seems to be going, I'm afraid. It appears the world is against international relationships, or at least the United States. And they are especially biased against anyone under the age of 30, it seems. I appreciate your help thus far.

    A few problems:

She does not own a car nor has a driver's license.

She lives with her mother, paying rent monthly

She's currently unemployed - leaving her job due to an unworkable environment

She's not in a University because she obtained her bachelor's

This all works against us, in terms of having strong ties. Though, she does do voluntary work, which she is in training to be made into a full-paying job, though it does not match her degree.

Is there anything that I can do? Or is there anything she can do to improve her chances?

She says she's willing to try again, but she's afraid because the IO had said that his decision is final and that everybody would agree with him. She's afraid of getting another decline on her record, hindering her chances even more. Wasting more time, more money, and gaining only more heartache.

I will look into the BUNAC, definitely. I'm highly interested in studying abroad, if not to meet her, then for my huge interest in traveling.

you can always have her mother state she is required back to pay rent or the employer state she needs to return to work by etc, also i know some schools require that the USC has enough funds in their bank if the school requires it
