Just before Christmas, hubby and I were reunited, and I got the green card shortly thereafter. Life is good! Thank you to everyone on here who supported and encouraged me through this process!

Got my visa this week! Now just waiting for hubby to return from Iraq and I will move to the US and be with him forever!

Hubby is deployed. Probably going to postpone my interview because I would rather be in Canada until he returns. Any thoughts or advice are appreciated!

Well interview is scheduled... but not until after hubby goes to Iraq. Sigh. After 19 months apart already we are looking at another 9 to 18. So, I will go to the US in the summer so I don't forfeit my CR1, but will return to Canada until hubby is back

SIF! Come on Montreal! If I could get a DEcember interview that would be super sweet, but I know it isn't likely at all. A January one would be good too, then I might get to live with my husband for 1 month before he deploys to Iraq... Please please please!

Nov 16: "We have everything and have asked Montreal to expedite". Nov 22 email: theconsulate requires that you do the 260 even though we already sent the 230. We do it that same day. Dec 2: same email again asking us to do the 260. Argh. What is going on and what do they want?

Tues the 16th we were told they had everything and had asked Montreal to expedite. Monday the 22nd they email a request for us to do the DS 260 online. Today we are told to wait 20 business days. I am so disappointed and frustrated right now.

after emailing the DS230 3 weeks ago, we got an email yesterday asking us to do the DS260. Argh. Had to call to find out the Beneficiary ID #, as it wasn't on any correspondence. Sitll hoping for the expedite to come through before hubby deploys

So the NVC has sent a request to Montreal to expedite. But, our case isn't complete at NVC. Any thoughts?

If you get approved from Montreal, the NVC will send everything they have in your file (so far) to Montreal and from then on out, everything will be done thru the consulate.
It's both a blessing AND a curse because at the NVC, you could call the operators there and get some answers if you were confused (or to check processing times). At the consulate there is no number to call nor are emails answered (at least, not very often) so you really can't check ANYTHING, it'll ...

NVC is trying to expedite our case along with the Consulate in Montreal! Fingers crossed that we can be together before he deploys!

After being apart for 16 months, we have just found out that hubby is deploying to Iraq in the next 90 days. So, if we are lucky I MIGHT get my green card just in time for him to leave. So, do I bother or just stay home in Canada with my family until he returns?

Hey I noticed you mentioned on HEather and Matt's profile/wall that people who were done at NVC in June still don't have an interview date..? Really? How do you know that? Man that sucks!

Just spoke to a VERY nice operator at NVC "Nicky". She informed me they do in fact already have my DS230 packet as of the 28th! Phew!

Got an email yesterday that they ahve received our request to optin to electronic processing. I had sent them the DS230 over 3 weeks ago, and now wondering if it would've been better to just mail it in?

it's been 3 weeks since I sent the DS230, and no word (well, other than the fact that we may not have properly requested electronic processing). Sigh. Fingers crossed and anxious for good news!

NVC phone operator informed me I may not have opted in to electronic processing correctly. Hope I haven't delayed things too much.

That is cool that you have been instructed to use the DS 260 online- you must be one of the first. Let me know how it goes! I thought it was interesting whenI was reading the NVC website the other day and noticed they are rolling over to the 260 this month.
