My wife got two notice from USCIS. One notice is a welcoming letter and the second notice here and another notice is as follow:
Your OS155A, IMMIGRANT VISA AND ALIEN REGISTRATION was accepted and is being processed at our TEXAS SERVICE CENTER location. On December 27, 2010, we mailed you a notice explaining this and describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or contact our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.
During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators
If you have filed an I-485, I-589, I-751, N-400, I-90, I-821, I-131 or I-765, you can expect
If you have filed an I-485, I-589, I-751, N-400, I-90, I-821, I-131 or I-765, you can expect to receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints and/or photographs taken. The timing of your appointment is determined by the number of applicants ahead of you that also need a biometric appointment. We try to schedule biometric appointments as quickly as possible and in most cases you will receive your appointment notice within 30 days of submitting your application. We will send your appointment notice approximately 14 days ahead of your scheduled appointment. It is important that you keep this appointment. If absolutely necessary, you can request that your appointment be rescheduled however, please be aware that rescheduling may delay the processing of your application. Please follow the instructions on your appointment notice if you need to reschedule. Occasionally, you may receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints taken when you have filed a form other than those listed above. In these situations, you may receive your appointment notice more than 30 days after submitting your application or petition.
My wife entered the US two weeks ago on a CR1 visas and submitted a package at port of entry. Does this mean she got the GC? Thank you

Hey Everyone My Wife got Approve and she already here. She told me that the interview was good.
The interviewer asked here couple of questions:
1 Date of marriage
2 How we met and how long do we know one another
3 What her occupation
4 What my occupation
5 What kind of occupation she will like to apply for when she is in the USA
I just want to say thank you everyone for helping me on the journey. It was a pricess Christmas gift
that my wife made it before Christmas. She told me that the agents at the embassy were amaized
because she got everything done prior to them calling her to give her information about medical
exams and proper documents to bring a the interview.
May God or whatever you believe in assist you in your journey. Above Love Always Win.

NVC and DOS told me that the package was send to the embassy on 15NOV2010. I check on the by reference tracking from 15 to 19 Nov 2010. The list provides information for all contries except Burkina Faso. I called NVC again to discuss the issue. They kept telling me that they send the package on 15NOV2010. I know Burkina Faso has a US embassy I have been there before. I don't know what else to do? Your sugestions are very welcome. Thank you.

I just called DOS. They said that the package was send on 15NOV2010. I went to the reference tracking but could not find the Embassy in Ouagadougoug, Burkina Faso.
-
Can you give me specifics on what your put on the Reference tracking? Thank you
-
Loto,
thank for the info but I have been trying this reference since this morning and it is still not working.
-
I called NVC tonight. They sent the package to the embassy today. I have tried to track the package by reference by puttin EXP 15 NOV 2010A, but it does not work at all. Can someone help? Thank you.

I have received a mail on November 4 from NVC with my interview date. I called NVC and they told me that all documentation was send to the embassy. Today the embassy has not received the documentation. From my own experience it take only 5 business when sending a package to Burkina Faso on a regular courier.
The embassy has moved to a new location but NVC sent the package to the old location. Can anyone tell me if they had a simular case and how did they fix it? Thank you.
-
Can someone give an idea where I can find detail information about documents needed for the interview?
In addition does the physician send the results of you medical examination to the embassy or do you have
to get sealed from the physician and take it to your interview?
Thank you all
-
I have just received the interview notice though email. NVC used her maiden name not her married last name on her passport.
Is that going to cause any problem? If yes how can I fix that before the date of the interview?
-
The interview date is December 01. Praise be to God.
-
My case was completed at NVC on 10/21/2010. Does anyone has an idea when I should expect to receive the interview date?
-
Thank you. I agree with you. I just called NVC and the operator told me the same thing.
-
I received the sign failed today (20/10/2010). How long do you think it will take for the consulate to received correspondance from NVC. In addition when are we going to know the interview date? Thank you!
-
I am in the same situation. I have sent mine four weeks ago. I have called NVC several time sand the operators keep telling me that it will takes 6-8 weeks. I think you should wait and call them at the sixth week. Here is the phone number 6033340700. The line is always busy but keep calling until you reach them. Depending on the time of the day, if you call them at night between 7pm-11pm you have a wait of at least 30minutes. From 08am-06pm around 10 minutes of wait time. Good luck.
