  1. It will take 60 to 90 days from application to EAD and a couple more weeks to get a SS Card.

They already said why. They want to work while they save for the AOS. My wife did exactly that, as did my step daughter but that was under the 1996 fees, not the current ones.

why you harassin me man? i can pick u statements too. where they already said why? they no say what u say. they ask advice what to do and oksana and mak told them the best advice and me too.

  2. You wrote, "ead is free to apply now? its included with k3 fees? " EAD is not included with K3 fees. Oksana and Mark indicated what they would choose in THEIR circumstances. The OP is in a different circumstance, is presumably an adult, and can make their own decision, if given the applicable information.

wat u problem man. u no see ????? question mark after i ask a question? leave me alone

  3. HEY VJ,

I am greatly hoping someone can help me to figure out what is going on with my case. I posted last week and i hate to rehash the whole scenario but lemme try to make it short. I am a CR1 visa, I filed in JUNE 2011.

NVC recieved my case on 10/31/11 and i got my case number on NOVEMBER 23rd.... OK this is the fun part ....I HAVE BEEN AT NVC a grand total of 42 days, since recieving my case number over 2 weeks ago i have recieved NO INVOICES or emails of any sort from NVC.

MIND you i have been told and read on VJ that NVC is slow when it comes to sending emails, though most of my friends in this process i have received there emails within 2 days or sooner, so i like any good VJ'er started sending up smoke signals to NVC after about a week of no emails, I ALSO have been checking the payment portal daily which continues to say NO INVOICE on the page.

I have called NVC everyday, and i will say out of 10 or so people i chatted with, ONLY 2 provided me with any pertinent information. I got responses running the gamut from it TAKES 10-20 business days before any invoices are created, I also was told, that no one should be recieving invoices or emails from them in 2 days time and basically insinuated i was either lying or mistaken.....( sucking my teeth at the nerve..LOL)

anyhoo, Last wednesday i sent an email INQUIRY to NVC and got a standard form letter response stating that my case was approved and now ready for further processing.. whoopee... but that email told me NADA nor did it answer my RASS question, so i politely sent it a 2ND time with the subject SECOND INQUIRY in the tag line. Today i recieved an email from a HUMAN saying that they are checking into and will contact me once they figure out the problem. SMALL VICTORY FOR ME< i made human contact.

Conversely, also last wednesday evening i spoke with a nice rep who agreed that yes, it should not be taking so long and that she would send it to a SPVSR to see what the hold up was. WELL BY FRIDAY nothing had changed and suffice to say i had a really crappy ending to my week, this ####### is depressing.

Today i promised myself i would call NVC ask my standard question, and no matter what, i wouldnt get upset. I got lucky, i talked to another human who was nice enough to keep me on the line for around 10 minutes while she went to go check the issue, she again came back, and said yes something is definitely wrong and no your not in AP cause i asked her. Again she said she would flag this for a spvsr to look into. OK so much for me keeping this short, the end result is this. During the course of the work day, i couldnt help but peek at the payment portal to see if a minor miracle had occurred and the invoices had been submitted and this is what it said:

Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please click on the Contact the NVC hyperlink if you believe that you have received this message in error

PLEASE SOMEONE ANYONE TELL ME WHAT THIS MEANS, HOW CAN MY CASE NO LONGER BE AVAILABLE FOR PROCESSING WHEN I HAVENT PAID THEM ANY MONEY AND SENT THEM ONE SHRED OF INFO REGARDING MY INCOME OR ANYTHING ELSE.. NOW IM BACK TO FULL FLEDGED ANXIETY...LOL

DID I PISS SOMEONE OFF BY INQUIRING ABOUT MY CASE OR WHAT? I HAVENT CALLED NVC BACK, for fear of something else going wrong. ANy and all input is appreciated and if anyone has snarky comments, please keep them to yourself as im SOOOOOO not in the MOOD :)

    please and thanks

    JAHONEY

this means your case is complete

  4. This is totally incorrect. EAD has a separate fee unless applied for in conjunction with adjustment of status. EAD is not needed with a CR1 visa but K3 is not CR1. K3 visa holders are not work authorized.

relax, i was ask not tell. i saw its 385 fee but if u file i485 its free. ok so they no said they want work while saving. i would just save for aos. oksana and mark is correct

  5. I don't. I just like it when countries are willing to stand up for what they believe/how they feel about the situation.

we have right to practice our religion beliefs

Nice try but total fail with that post. It has nothing to do with hate, and all to do with conforming to the country you choose to live in. You either conform, or you go to where your the majority and/or don't have to conform.

Nobody is forcing Muslims to immigrate by the millions to Western countries. It's all on them.

Another victory for Canada! Good Job! this is hate statement because they against our beliefs

  6. Good Morning,

I am k3 visa and as of now am planning to apply EAD first before AOS is there anyone who has same situation as mine?? How long it will take to approve EAD? WAS it advisable to do this while saving $1070 for AOS. Any suggestion will help me, Thanks.

ead is free to apply now? its included with k3 fees?

  7. Another victory for Canada! Good Job!

    http://worldnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/12/12/9396155-canada-bans-veils-at-citizenship-ceremonies

MONTREAL -- In a move likely to inflame Canada's Muslim community, the government said on Monday it would bar all women wearing face coverings from taking part in citizenship swearing-in ceremonies.

Immigration Minister Jason Kenney said he had received complaints from citizenship judges and parliamentarians about veiled women taking the oath to become Canadian.

"Requiring that all candidates show their faces while reciting the oath allows judges and everyone present to share in the ceremony," Kenney said in a speech in Montreal.

"The citizenship oath is a quintessentially public act. It is a public declaration that you are joining the Canadian family and it must be taken freely and openly."

Kenney said some citizenship judges were concerned that some Muslim women wearing face coverings were not actually reciting the oath.

"They told me last month that it’s a fairly common problem. Every week, in every region of the country, we’re dealing with situations where applicants arrive with a veil on,” Kenney said, according to The Globe and Mail. “Frankly, I found it bizarre that the rules allowed people to take the oath with a veil on.”

Kenney's announcement will affect women wearing the niqab -- a face veil with an eye opening -- as well as the burqa, which has a full face covering with a mesh area to allow vision.

The move might well trigger a court challenge from those who say the restriction violates freedom of religion provisions under Canada's constitution.

The Canadian Council on American-Islamic Relations said Kenney's move questioned the sincerity and good faith of some citizenship applicants and not others.

"This decision will have a damaging effect on our democracy because it forces those who wear the niqab to choose between their religious convictions and adopting Canadian citizenship," said Ihsaan Gardee, the council's acting executive director.

The most recent figures from Statistics Canada show that, in 2001, around 2 percent of the population was Muslim. Community leaders say the figure now is more like 3 percent of the country's 34.5 million people.

•Canada considers: Can rape accuser testify under veil?

The location of the announcement was not without symbolism. The French-speaking province of Quebec has had debates over how much Canada should bend to accommodate newcomers.

The provincial government said last year it planned to ban Muslim women from receiving all official services if they have their faces covered.

Earlier this year, a court in France fined two Muslim women for wearing full-face veils in public, the first time a judge had imposed punishment under a "burqa ban" law.

Last week, the Supreme Court of Canada heard the case of a Muslim woman who wanted to testify against her alleged rapists from behind her niqab. A decision has not yet been rendered.

why do you hate muslims and our beliefs?

  8. I think you are going to be greatly disappointed when you come to the USA. Between the illegals in the USA and the liberals thinking they should be entitled to everything for nothing, this country has become really screwed up. They both are constantly working the system for everything they can take. It is sickening to witness, especially if you are a hard working US citizen like myself that pays his taxes and is willing to donate some of my income to the truly disadvantaged in this country.

Good luck and keep an open mind when you get here or you will be greatly disappointed.

Sometimes I have to laugh because its not so easy to make it here anymore. Its not like the old days. Many people get a rude awakening when they get here.

  9. uhmm...now another waiting journey huh....lol wonder how long will it takes to get our passport & visa to be deliver....unbelievable! good just reserved my flight on sunday hope I can get my passport today..well we'll see....

5 business days Rie, takes 5 days. 2GO dont have tracking on their website. Air21 used to do the delivery there but now they use this cheaper delivery company called 2GO. And I read that 2GO no deliver on sat or sunday. I think Embassy in Manila cut and print the visas on thursday and fridays , in the mail by friday afternoon. So maybe we get them on tuesday this week?

  10. HELLO, Everybody...

    here is my case.

my husband is petitioning my daughter , the case was expedite to santo domingo and they received the package on april 6, i called today to the Department of State, "visa specialist" and everybody is telling me the consulate sent me a package 3, because they are missing the form ds230 and i864, but i already send it to nvc and they are telling me in santo domingo they received the package so what they are asking.?

those operators at NVC tell everyone the same thing, that they no recieve the papers but REALLY they have it and process them. They did this to me and 1000's of others posting here on the BB boards. Just ignore them. the NVC is really a horrible unorganized group. Kinda like the white house.

  11. ***removed*** website is like that, all people on there posting about how to do it quick and illegally in many ways. I got thrown off that website because some guy met his wife here in the States, she came accross the border from Mexico illegally, and he was looking for ways to make her stay here. How an illegal alien can even legally get married here in the states is strange, but all I said was she needs to go back and do it the right way and I was attacked by him and other posters and moderators and my acct terminated there LOL.

  12. According to NVC's website (http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html):

    Translation Requirements

All documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations and submitted to the NVC. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator stating that the:

    • Translation is accurate, and
    • Translator is competent to translate.

So, if Arabic is the official language of Saudi Arabia, you don't need to translate them. If it was me though and I had any documents not in English, I'd get them translated, just in case, but again, that's just me.

They make it confusing. I'm pretty sure what they mean is if you actually are applying for the visa like at the Embassy in Saudi then you dont need to have it translated. BUT since they applied here in the States via USCIS and NVC then they need translation. Some cases are allowed to be filed directly at the Embassy like if the Spouse lives there or works there etc. Then the I-130 and IV pack can be filed right at the Embassy, then you dont need translations. This is what I always thought it meant and in the past heard people say.

  13. oh well I have a question... do i need to get my police clearance certificate translated in english.im gonna get it in arabic... but an operator at nvc told me i dont need to get it translated just send it as is.. do i just send it or am i taking some risk of more delay(what if they aactually need a translated copy?)

WoW whats going on with the NVC phone operators? I wouldn;t listen to them. First they told me they never recieve my IV package and make me worry and scan Post Office reciepts and papers and email it to them when the whole time they had the IV package and it was being processed. Then they told me after my case complete that the interview was scheduled 2nd week of every month, I had CC in Feb so they told me I would get interview scheduled 2nd week of March. Well interview was scheduled in end of Feb. I think everyone there has their head up their you know what. If I was you I would get the document translated and then send it. I am willing to bet my house that if you send it in Arabic that they will RFE you and ask for the English translation.

  14. Congrats! So it really takes 5 days to get the passport with visa? Is it safe to book a flight after passing the interview and even before receiving the passport with visa?

Thanks. Yes they said 5 days, because they deliver it to where you live. I heard some people get it faster if they live within Manila metro area. If you book a flight a couple of weeks after your interview date then you probably will be safe but your taking a chance. If you need to change a flight date most airlines will charge you a fee.

  15. Anyone who receive their Packet IV (brown envelop) while waiting for their Interview date in the month of April.uhmmm....

Not yet but I wouldn't wait on that. You can get it at the US Embassy website. Her is the link http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/19452/public/Packet%204%20_appointment%20packet_%20English%20rtf%20_revised%20GSS_%20_2__001.pdf

Print out your email indicating your interview date , use that to get into the embassy.

  16. Hi everybody !

We got the email from NVC with the DS3032 and our invoice number...

Now, I have to send them the form and I would like to email (following the visajourney model and attach the form signed by me too).

Should I also send the form by regular mail ?

We already payed the tax U$88.

So, should I send by mail and email ?

    I-130 timeline:

    Oct. 13, 2010: envio do pacote com I-130, G-325 A e G-1145

    Oct. 14, 2010: receberam o pacote

Oct. 19, 2010: email do USCIS (Acceptance Confirmation)

    Oct. 23, 2010: NOA 1 by mail

    Oct. 26, 2010: Touched

    Feb, 08, 2011: NOA 2 (113 days after NOA 1)

    NVC Journey:

    02-16-2011: NVC Case # Assigned

02-24-2011: Email addresses given to NVC operator.

02-26-2011: AOS/DS3032 information (email) received from NVC.

    02-26-2011: AOS $ 88 bill paid.

I think some people have emailed and regular mailed it but you only need to email it.
