i am in phoenix also you should have looked into flying hawaiin air pam was through customs in 15 minutes and the total time it took her to get here was 17 hours ....
Yup, I had planned on getting her a ticket on Hawaiin, she called from Manila and said she had a great deal lined up so I sent her money to get it (in the middle of my night).....turns out that great deal has a 12 hour layover at LAX......
Looks like I'm driving out...her flight actually lands at 2030, nothing later than 20:50 that I've found leaving LAX for Phoenix.....we'll stay the night somewhere and relax....
-
The cheapest way would be to let her spend the night in LA by herself, but we don't want to do that.....
Driving over and back would be about double the cost of just buying her an additional ticket, not too mention the 12 hours of drive time for me (6 for her)....
-
OK, she has her flight from Manila to LAX. When she booked, they gave her a 12 hour layover in LAX before flying onto PHX.....not good.
Option A - I was going to drive out to LA and pick her up, I started adding up the costs associated ($4 gas anyone) and decided to look at other flights...
Option B - The last flight from LAX to PHX is 9:50 PM, her flight from Manila is supposed to arrive at 7 PM. The 950 PM flight is less than the cost of fuel to drive to CA and back.
Does anyone think that is enough time to clear customs and immigration and transferring to terminal 4 ? Coming on K-1 visa from Phils....

Ours shipped today, showed up on the 2go website using the MNL case # to track

My wife too....made a friend named Phoebe.....

My fiancee' visa got approved on April 4th and bought a ticket that day for April 20th....it was $900...any sooner and it was at least $1200....we figured the 20th would be safe, but still are crossing fingers she will have visa in hand...
-
My Fiancee' approved....said it was a piece of cake.....I give a lot of thanks to the material on this site for making it easy.

I call the US number, my better half says it costs about 400 pesos when she calls....we were calling for at least a week before they shut down and went through the whole routine of name, emails, #'s, etc. before they would tell us no appointments available. I called yesterday morning (March 9th PI time) and set the appointment up right first try.
Now we are trying to decide if she should make two short trips to Manila (3 days each) or 1 long trip, about 9 days....time to do some searching on how gfar in advance she needs to take medical.....if she could do medical on Thursday and Friday and interview on Monday the 4th, that would be the easiest/cheapest option.
Finally feel like things are moving again, was excited when we got NOA2 on Feb 9th, but the embassy move really put a damper on our spirits for a week or two there....
-
April 4th...got through just now, soonest available date...she'll be coming from Mindanao...
-
When did you schedule ? We've been trying to schedule for over a week...........
-
Got caught right in the middle of this....NOA2 received Feb 9th...been trying to make an appointment for 2 weeks now.....so much for Fiancee' visa being the fastest...........
-
This is true... since they close the consular services for almost 2 weeks since they will move to a new building, March slots is limited.
Thanks for the response. Oh... :-( so there is a possibility that i can schedule next month(april)?
-
I got my NOA2 Feb 9, 2011 and I'm trying to set my appointment for interview so that I can have my medical too. I already have my UID and password but when I called they said no available slot for march. Is this true? Or is there other way to set an appointment this month? I really want to have my appointment this month. :-(
-
so go to this site http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackRef
enter your reference code like this. If your NOA2 letter states that it sent off your packet on Feb 4th then the code would be EXP 04 FEB 2011A
Then enter below that some dates to search between.
Using that date code i can see all the packets sent off from the NVC on Feb the 7th. None of which went to manila.
OK, what am I doing wrong here ?
Our NOA2 was approved on the 9th.
I enter EXP 09 FEB 2011A in the reference line and put the dates as 9 Feb to today and it gives me an error. Tried last week with same result..........
I needed to subscribe to this thread anyways, some good links
