  1. No need you already have your green card.

This would of been sent with your AOS application not after.

I didn't need to send it with my greencard application (I-485) because I came over on the K-1 fiancee visa, it's not the full medical form just a vaccination supplement, are you sure?! Sorry to be a pain, I just like knowing that the USCIS has everything they need.

  2. Hello all,

today I received my Greencard after adjusting from a K-1 visa! My adjustment of status was posted on 20th December and received on the 27th...meaning my greencard took 2 months and 1 day to arrive!

I'm not sure if I have been super super lucky or what but I know one thing for certain, there is no way I could have done it without all the help and information I found on VisaJourney.

A huge thank you from me and my wife to everyone and good luck to all those going through the motions, it's frustrating at times but when it all pays off it is well worth it... time for some champagne!

  3. Hi all,

I have a question and knew this would be the place to ask it!

I have just been offered a PhD interview back in England in 2 weeks, I filed by AOS in December after entering on a K1 Visa, I also filed for the advanced parole. Is there anyway of getting out of the country for my interview without the advanced parole? I read something about extenuating circumstances, has anyone had any experience with this and would my situation count?

I realise this is an extremely long shot but thought I'd check anyway!

Thank you to anyone who can help!

    Nick

  4. Hi all,

I've spent a while googling the answer for this and can't find one, I'm sure one of you wonderful people out there can help me!

I'm filling out I-765 and looking at question 11,

"Have you ever before applied for employment authorization from USCIS?"

In 2006 I worked at a summer camp on a J-1 visa, does this mean I have applied for employment authorization?!

I'm sure this seems like a stupid question but for my own peace of mind I thought I'd ask.

Thanks to all and Happy Christmas!

  5. Hi all,

I had my K-1 Fiancee visa approved today and just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone on these forums. I have read over many many posts giving info on what to do at the interview and what forms to include etc etc and I don't think I could have done this whole process without all the information and help on this website.

Thank you again and good luck to everyone trying to be with their loved ones.

  6. Hi all,

I'm getting there with all my visa paperwork filing, I've received my 2nd notice of action and have all the paperwork and proof sorted. I read on the website that some airports will issue a temporary 90 day work authorization if it is asked for and that it depends on which airport you fly into.

I will be flying into Washington Dulles, has anyone had any experience with getting a work permit at this airport and do you have to pay for them?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated,

    thank you in advance

  7. Hi guys,

I am currently filling out all the paperwork for my K1 fiance visa. The petition has been approved so I am now onto the DS-156, DS-156K, DS-157 and DS-230 Part 1.

I only have one question which should (hopefully) be pretty simple to answer!

Form DS-156k states that my birth certificate, police certificates etc must be attached to file the form. Do these need to be posted off to the Immigrant Visa Unit in London or do I take them to my interview with me?

Thank you in advance for your much needed help!

    Nick
