  1. After reading this I have a question...

If I have pictures of the two of us together and boarding passes/itineraries is that enough? What is considered Primary? I know many people suggest the passport copies which will show how many times I've gone to visit. Is that enough in all for USCIS' two year meeting requirement?

  2. Hello all... Looking for a little help.

Now... seeing how the DS-156 was originally intended for traditional Non-Immigrant Visas, I'm wondering how some of you answered a few questions. I mean I know the K-1 is technically a NIV, but its considered by most an IV because of the ability of the beneficiary to remain in the US following their marriage to a USC. With all that said... some of these questions... I need help with. I'm just not sure if the questions should be answered like a NIV applicant or as an IV applicant. ---Hope that makes sense---

Question 26: How long do you intent to stay in the US?

Question 27: What is the purpose of your trip?

Question 32: Do you intend to work in the US?

Question 33: Do you intend to study in the US?

Question 36: Has anyone ever filed an Immigrant Visa Petition on you behalf?

  3. @MsNaNa: I have unlimited minutes through my cell phone provider (Verizon) however those minutes are limited to local calls only. Long distance would cost me extra. This service provides you with 2 new phone numbers, one local to you and one local to your fiance. To call each other, you can dial the new local number that was given to you and it tricks your phone provider into thinking you're dialing locally. I don't really know why the other person has to pick up, hang up, and then call back but that is how the two phones connect with each other in cyber space and its what makes it free. If my fiance were to simply answer the phone after I had dialed his Rebtel number, it would cost me money through the site. Rebtel and my phone provider are two separate entities that have nothing to do with each other, and no agreements with each other.

Unfortunately, it looks like Jamaica isn't on the free list so this program is probably not the best for you anyway. I checked Jamaica on their site, the rates are (in US$) $0.099/minute to a landline and $0.199/min to a cell. But hopefully that answered your question!

Maybe you can help me understand this... So I would put money on an account with Rebtel and pay the above mentioned rates to call Jamaica using my minutes? If that's the case thats still better than my company. I pay 50 cents a minute to call using my cell phone. So if this option is offering me... is that 20 cents... it would still be fiscally better because I also have minutes unlimited but end up paying out the wazoo because of the international calling.

    Do I have this right?

  4. Hey Guys and Gals...

I need some help on something(s) and I'm hoping someone will chime in! I'm reading and following directions, but I sometimes second guess myself so I wanted to ask again.

Okay here goes... Filling out papers for I-129f and wondered a few things:

DS-230 Question 12 asks for Present Occupation... this question is directly after the question that asks for Name and Address of person in US that beneficiary plans to live with. So is #12 asking for beneficiary or petitioners information?

DS-157 Question 9 asks for all countries entered in the last ten years, then asks for the year of each visit. Fiance lived in Canada for 3 years. So, would he enter Canada 2007 to 2010, or Canada and list every time he left the country (say to visit home) and then returned? ---Hope that questions clear---

    Thanks.

  5. He picks up the phone, hangs up, and then redials that same number that showed up on his caller ID so our two lines connect in cyber space and the call is 100% free and the quality is good and I can call him on my lunch break from my cell phone! It sounds a little bit complicated describing it here but its really not at all once you save the numbers in your phone. You speed dial fiance's rebtel #, he hits send, end, then send again (from a cell) and you're connected! It's like voip I think, but you don't have to pay for any landlines or anything like with vonage or whatever. The only cost with Rebtel is the cost of a making a regular call. I have Verizon Wirless for example but I have unlimited minutes so it costs me nothing. If you only have free nights and weekends you could use it then and it would still cost you nothing. If you pay as you go, it will cost you the same as just regular local phone calls.

Why is this part necessary? If you are using your minutes (which are unlimited) why does he have to call back?

    Just like this: NO

you shouldnt feel guilty for living the life that you live....you dont owe anyone an explanation.. Everyone makes decisions in life.....sorry dude is broke but you shouldnt feel a way cuz your not..

we had a few encounters like this...the more you say yes, the more people will ask..

if i had a zillion dollars, then that would be one thing....but i dont...shoot, people got bills to pay

    WELL SAID!

  7. Hey there! Well... I've never bought a dress personally but I've assisted in the process many times. Regardeless of petitioner or beneficiary, almost all women go through this phase as they are preparing for their wedding. I'm sure you'll be just fine! :)

Buying a dress in the US is not hard, but it's time consuming and can be overwhelming. I would suggest you continue browsing dresses online until you reach the US. Once you arrive start visiting the stores which you ave been browsing for the particular dresses(write down item numbers or print pictures) you've liked online. They can then tell you how long it will take to alter/fit etc. Depending on the dress you prefer, its availability, if it will need to be shipped to the location you're fitting at, and ultimately how the particular dress fits you.... will determine how long it will take for the dress to be ready. However, I do think a month is more than enough time for the actual work to be done once you actually choose a dress. The tricky part is choosing the dress!!! lol.

Good luck and Happy shopping! :)

  8. Okay... I know I'm being very particular... but better safe than sorry. Should he put Unemployed and then in the TO (Month/Year) column put the month and date when he started working? I hope that makes sense.

In other words... it would read from left to right: Unemployed (from section is blank) to April 2006.

The line above would then read his employment date of April 2006 to Present time.

    What do yall think?

  9. Hey All:

Question about the G325A. Where it asks for Employment History for the last five years... what would be the suggestion if the employment history doesn't reach the five years? My fiance has no history prior to April 2006. Should he put NONE or UNEMPLOYED in the box below that employment period?

Help Please. Not trying to take chances.

  10. This is a rather random question, but in the world of VJ I feel no question should/will go unanswered. So, I'm hoping someone will reply.

In the incident the petitioner (USC) can not get an original, signed letter of intent from their spouse for the original submission of the I-129f petition... is another means of coomunicating said intent acceptable? Has anyone encountered this as yet? I know many of us speak about not having seen each other in a while, so I wonder if this is something you all can shed light on? Thanks.

  11. Good day... It's seems you guys' process has been going at miraculous speed. Congrats on your upcoming interview!

As for the actual interview, I would say from the top of my head that most US Embassy's allow your petitioning spouse (USC) to attend the interview with you. She may not actually be able to sit with you when they question you, but she can still be in the room. They may even choose to ask her a few questions knowing that she is present (as a means to validate the answers you've provided). Make sure she travels with her passport to the Embassy just in case!

However, as I am not from Venezuela and not familiar with their process, I would suggest first checking their webisite. Try also emailing them the same question and they should reply in time before the interview.

    Good Luck!

  12. I notice some folks on the forums mention their petition was touched. When I plug my ID number into the USCIS website it only has Acceptance, Initial Review, Decision, Post-Decision..nothing about ongoing actions or being 'touched'. I am on the Initial Review phase, have received first notice. Is there anything else to look at to see if my petition has been 'touched' ? Thanks.

Thanks for this question. Always wondered what that meant. :)

But now another random (yet rhetorical) question... Why is your package being touched and not being worked on? Random sticky fingers touching things for no good (meaningful) reason???
