  1. Did Anybody got their AOS approved recently?

    We are still waiting.

Our information is: We filed for the AOS on 08/13/2011. NOA1 date is: 08/18/2011.

    Biometrics Appointment is on: 09/13/2011.

Case transfered to CSC on 9/8/2011.

But we did not hear anything about AOS approval.

As per this web site(visajourney), presently the USCIS is processing the applicants who filed on 09/07/2011.

I am just looking if anybody recently got their AOS approved (through the K-1 visa).

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Hi,

What we came to know (of course little late and lot of tension) is that we can apply for the police clearance certificate even before the consulate

sends packet 3 (or packet 4). Chennai is sending only one packet. It may take more than one month for the police clearance certificate. You may try to go to the Passport office and try to show your interview date/medical test appointment etc and keep on trying showing the urgency.

    csk.

  3. Hi,

Initially we thought we can apply for the Police Clearance certificate only after getting the communication from Chennai Consulate.

But our assumption is wrong. We can start the PCC process even before application reaches the consulate.

In Hyderabad, we have to apply for the PCC at the passport office and they will communicate with the Police and return it after all the verifications by police. This is a lengthy and slow moving process.

It may take minimum one month to few months.

We are trying to see if we can show our visa interview date and the medical exam etc.. and get the process expedited.

  4. Hi fellow VJ members,

My fiancee submitted her passport for Police Clearance Certificate and that process is taking longer time.

She has her visa appointment on 16th June.

That means she need to get her medical exam done before June 2nd.

Her chance of getting passport from PCC before that date is slim.

So I am checking if she can go to for the Medical exam without the passport.

As per the Chennai(India) consulate web site, you need passport for medical exam.

    Thank you in advance.

  5. Hi Fellow VJ members,

We recently got NOA2 approval and we are in the process of preparing for the next stage.

We are trying to see when we can start the process of police clearance certificate.

Did anybody recently got police clearance certificate in Hyderabad, India.

When we have to start the process ie do we have to wait till we recieve information from the Chennai consulate?

or can we start the process in advance? Do we have to go to the passport office to get this?

How much time it is taking for this process.

    Thanks in Advance.

  6. Hi fellow VJ members,

Our I-129F NOA1 date is: 10/28/2010. I am the petitioner.

I have contacted my local congressman's office. They are very helpful.

After checking with USCIS, they informed me that our application is with the visa official from 04/14/2011.

I am wondering what/when i can expcet the approval(hopefully no RFE).

Is anybody else in this scenario?

    Thank you in advance.

  7. Hi,

I am located in Tampa and I filed for I-129F last week ie (10/14/2010). My lawyer mailed it. So i am assuming that they mailed it

    to Dallas Lock Box.

I am trying to find how the processing times are for Dallas office/Dallas Lock box.

How the timings are changed after moving to the new single Dallas Lock Box.

When I check the processing times on this web site, I am seeing the processing timesf ro CSC and VSC and there is no

reference about the new Dallas Lock Box.

Which processing times(i mean which service center ..) I have to check if i filed my I-129F last week.

Thanks in advance. I am waiting for my case number etc.

  8. Hai,

I am US Citizen. Recently I went to India and engaged and I am planning to start applying for the fiancee visa (K-1 visa).

When we started collecting the paperwork, we noticed that my fiancee's previous marriage is annulled and her place of birth

on her Indian passport is slightly misspelt.

    So my questions are:

    1. What we have to mention about her marital status on I-129F (as her marriage is annulled): Single or Divorced

    2. Do we have to fix her place of birth in her Indian passport?

If we have to do so, can we first apply for the I-129F first and then get the passport corrected before she go for the fiancee visa?

    Thanks in Advance.
