Pls I need help on what to do, our case was reaffimed and NVC said the have forwarded it to the embassy and more than four weeks have gone and we did not hear from embassy and when we contacted them they keep saying they are yet to receive the reaffirmed case, that they are not in receipt of the notice of reaffirmation and that they will contact the applicant as soon as they receive the reaffirmed case. we contacted the NVC and they paper was actually send to the embassy and records show the embassy received it but now the embassy can't find it pls what do you think will happen just very worried about the whole thing....
Thanks

Since it's already December 17, I expect your interview will be in February at the soonest.
Wow why that long?
-
I am so sorry to hear that and I am just wondering if u provide more detalis under what circumstances was visa denied ? were there any redflags ? I.e. very short term relation, very limted number of visits, age difference and other reasons.....what was the interview about ? did your spouse took all the required documnts with her on the interview date ?
Thanks the interview was last year and there was a redflag. But the main issue is that it has been reaffirmed and send back since November 7th and till now no responce from the embassy. What do you think is going on are they making us wait?
-
I went for interview CR/IR and was denied and my papers was send back to the department of homeland security/uscis but it was reaffirmed and they send it back I want to know if anybody have any idea how long it will take them to give me another interview date?
-
If it was that recent you can try to email the embassy and ask if you can arrange a second interview. Would there be a chance you could travel to a second interview ?
-
When was your interview ? If the denial is recent you may be able to get a new interview before it is sent back. Contact your representitive and the embassy immigration unit. If your interview was a K3 is the I130 still alive ? You may be able to move that forward
My interview was on the 21st dec αи∂ was a K3 αи∂ what they(the CO) said was they were sending the application back to the homeland security/NVC.

There has been many cases I know of myself personally that married younger men, some women as much as 22 years older, and their husbands were issued visa, and at U.S. Embassy Cairo which is a hard embassy due to fraud. Age is not always a BIG red flad, mainly the evidence submitted, which the embassy looks at so much, emails, chats, pics with spouse and their family, communication with family, shared finances, it all makes a big difference of a approval or a denial at the interview........ if possile, request a new interview, and BE THERE at the interview..........
All the best
Beth
How can we request a new interview pls am the husband. This is really eating me up so much.
-
I understand this is discrimination but this is something you and your husband should have been prepared for as this is what happens all the time. And many fraud marriages got approved and the US spouse never sees it coming, they always go into it in love. Everyone always says that will never happen to me but honestly it happens more times then we know, and I'm not saying your marriage is fraud, you obviously love him very much to get this upset, but your husbands response to those questions is what put you in this position. Proof is on paper and anyone can smile for a picture and put a happy front forward. It's your husbands answers and reaction to each question that will go above and beyond the paper proof. And now its all just his word against the embassies word. This is nothing against you the US citizen, this is against your husband who is going outside his culture for what they want to prove is love not just the US.
I will add that am the husband αи∂ I must add if they really go after what is goingg on here culture, religion αи∂ government here don't care about people. One I will say I can choose to marry anybody I choose too my parent αи∂ friend can never choose for me. Αи∂ another thing I will say is that the way I see cultural leaders do here get me to think is there really what we call culture? I am a ghanaian I live most of my life here in nigeria αи∂ I can count how many of my family members really care apart from my mum αи∂ my sister. Religious learder most especially christians run churches like biz centers or biz organization I remember while I was growing up when I finished secondary school the church io was attending then got their own university around then αи∂ cos my mum could not afford it I could not go to that school αи∂ it took me about 5 yes before I can get to go to the higher institution does our religion care about us that way??? Am not judging anybody pls don't get me wrong the government is no go area talk less of people that live in the countries(ghana & nigeria) hello I can choose to marry anybody #### kids or anything as long as am happy with who ever I choose to marry. Αи∂ what make the CO think if I was your my wife's age or my wife was my age I won't leave her or she can't leave me they are wrong the CO made me feel like #### was laughing me like look at this boy but what I know if this is meant to be I never feel this great way about a woman in my life I trust her so much αи∂ she has showed me so much love. I have never been myself since that day...

Your quotes are from a site called she-comomy , hardly an unbiased site.
Many woman have married younger men in Nigeria and gotten approved. The bigger the differece the harder it is , because it is very important to the Nigerian culture that a man produces a son. More so for the oldest son , who inherits the wealth and the headaches of his father. The issue is to confront the problems. Nigeria also accounts for a huge portion of the DV lottery entries. To most of Nigeria coming to the US is the dream of their lives. They know the chances are small and there are a huge number that think nothing of a marriage to someone as old as their mother if it means getting that coveted green card. The embassy is trying to stop women from being used. If you didn't get it right this time around take a deep breath and do better next time. Having to file twice isn't that uncommon for Lagos
I love what I have been reading all along but I must add nigeria is where I know more fine am a ghanaian just that I live here I know families or friend that their kids are not after their parents family.. My wife is older than me but I want you to take it or leave it if you were in my shoe you will fall inlove with my wife she's really nice made me see that part of me I never really see αи∂ for the children we can adopt I just want to proof to the world that among many I am diffrent αи∂ I am really ready to live here in africa with my wife I just know if this is meant to be it will sure be thank you for suppoort VJ. I lool foward hear a good news america is a great nation αи∂ am sure I can make it anywhere in this AMEN.

An attorney or other professional help might be a good idea but not a magic solution. There are many things that could help but all must be managed by the US Citizen. Why is SHE not here asking these questions?

First, if this was an immigrant visa denial, it was a CR1 or IR1 visa, not K3 that you applied for. There is nothing for the foreigner to do at this point. In a few months, the US Citizen will have an opportunity to appeal what is called a "Notice of Intent to Revoke" the approval of the I-130 petition. If successful, the case will be sent back to Accra for a second interview.
In my experience, unless the US Citizen spouse arranges to go spend at least a couple months living together with the foreign spouse as husband and wife before the next interview, there's little reason to expect a different outcome from the second interview.
Thanks pls what of if we take an atoney αи∂ she comes down αи∂ visit αи∂ its a K3 we applied for αи∂ all that happened when you say a copy of month like how many 2, 3 or 4 am sorry I ask too much question αи∂ what of if we make people around us write statement about our relationship like my mum my dad my brother my sister my wife family daughter, few of her friends αи∂ so on αи∂ we get an atoney. Pls I want your best of advice. Thanks
-
Sorry to hear that, it really depends up to case to case.
What was the reason? Did you get 221g slip? Did it give instructions about what you need to provide? You have to explain little more to get aware about your case.
So we can help you better.
The thing is this my wife is 20yrs older than me αи∂ the C.O was so rude αи∂ was laughing me. Αи∂ he was like it looks like a scam that my wife send me money. Αи∂ that I possibly have a lot of women I talk to αи∂ that my application will be send back so my wife can appeal it. Pls I will be so glad if you can help am highly depressed now. My wife is helping any ways cos she very supportive.
-
I will start by saying I give thanks to God for all he has done for me αи∂ the gift of life. My interview was the 21st of dec I went for it but was not granted the visa instead it was send back to the homeland security/NVC that it looks like fruad or let me say her used the word scam cos my wife send money to me sometimes for up keep cos I was going to school αи∂ I don't work pls what is the next thing for us the CO said my wife can appeal but the thing is this what is the chances I will get the visa if she appeals αи∂ how soon or what is the best advise someone on here can give. I will be glad to read from someone soon. Thanks αи∂ Goood bless you all.

Αи∂ pls I live in nigeria but am a ghanaian αи∂ my interview is here in nigeria do I need to get nigeria residence permit before I get to go for my interview? Thanks

Try Ghana mission abroad in Lagos for enquiry or Immigration office in Lagos.I am sure it will involve a long time process but u may be lucky to get around it.No one knows ur interview date but I am pretty sure it wont be long after ur case is completed at the NVC maximum of 3months after NVC except something serious crops up.If u arent able to get the Resident permit, I suggest u should just let it go, they might overlook it at the embassy for the fact that u are a student in the country.U may however go with ur School ID card or School Materials. All the best
Thanks so much for you kind help I thank you all VJ peep. I have all kind enough I just graduated from school I will try all that you told me to try. Pls how will I get can I get call records αи∂ what αи∂ what do I need to get ready for my inteview.

You do not need any court papers as long as you do not have anything up your sleeves most especially in the past.Yes, you will be interviewing in Lagos.Make sure you make the trip to Ghana to obtain ur police clearance ASAP, its around 20cedis but pay a little more to get same day delivery or next day at Sakara Police headQ in Accra.Make sure you also obtain the Right Birth Certificate in Ghana cos they seems to have a new one at the moment.Schooling in Nigeria doesnt necessarily mean u are a Legal resident unless a Resident number is assigned to you through your traveling Passport. As Long as you are a Member of Ecowas countries which you are then you are good to go.I was also a student in Ghana and was there without Legal residency(Not a Crime) until my 3 year in the university when I was about traveling to Japan before I obtained one(Its a different thing all together most especially in the advanced countries, one needs to have a student visa before being allowed into the country but as a member of Ecowas countries we do not as long as its within the region.Talking about Ghana, one is not allowed to have an interview as a foreigner without a resident permit but It may be a different thing in Lagos cos anything is possible in Lagos but it will be good you also inquire about that one.All the best. You may PM for more info.
I have the new birth certificate, all my papers too but I don't have residence permit maybe I need to get one then cos my interview has been assinged to lagos. What do you advice now pls.

If you have lived in Nigeria for 6 months or more you can have your file transfered to Nigeria because you have resided in Nigeria for over six months.
I just realised that my interview has be assigned to lagos embassy cos my case number starts with LGS so I guess am lucky.
-
Yes,. you most definitely have to do that. My husband had the same thing, where he lived in two different countries more then 6 months and he had to provide the american embassy with the court and the police report from both places!!! Good luck!!!!
Do I need any court papers too??
-
You will be interviewing in Lagos.
So I will still go get the ghana police certificate wedding papers αи∂ other stuffs need αи∂ mail DS back to them. Pls can I ask do you have yahoo id so with can im or gmail or maybe a bb pin I think you really will be able to put me through.

What does the case number begin with, ACC or LGS? If the case number starts with LGS, then your file is already assigned to the Consulate in Lagos and you will not have to do anything. If your wife put your address in Nigeria on the I-130 and/or indicated on question #22 that you would be interviewing in Lagos, then there is a chance the NVC already assigned your file to the Consulate in Lagos.
If the case number starts with ACC, that means the file has been assigned to the Embassy in Accra. In that instance, you will have to contact the Consulate in Lagos (most likely in writing) and request that they (the Consulate) have the case transferred from Accra to Lagos. You will have to state your reason why you want this transfer and you will want to include evidence that you are authorized to be in Nigeria on a long term basis (going to school). If your request to the Consulate in Lagos is accepted, then they will make a formal request to the Embassy in Accra to have your case transferred to Lagos.
There is no guarantee that Lagos will accept your request.
Wow you know I never really notice that has a meaning, my case number starts with LGS so I guesss that means they have already assign lagos embassy for me so what do you think now?
-
It could.
Ok then thank you all for your help so if I want to move the interview down to nigeria how will I go about it or what will do to move it down to nigeria if I want to move it down at all cos a friend that went to usa from nigeria recently say Abuja embassy is so good but never the less any embassy is good I will all keep you posted am so greatful
