  1. I got the yesterday morning...

Application Type: I485 , Application to Register Permanent Residence or

    to Adjust Status

    Current Status:

On May 30, 2006, a welcome notice was mailed for this case. If 30 days

have passed and you have not received this notice. Please call the

National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283 during business hours.

I saw several posts here said if I get my welcome letter I will get my green card soon...

Wow I can't wait..... me and my husband already  all day...

    :dancing::dancing: Patty

  2. I had my interview in Houston, TX, but I didn't apply EAD so I don't know how does it go. My interview went pretty well, the officer said I would get my green card soon after they check my fingerprints.

There is another experince I want to share about the INS in Houston...I had my inerview first so the officer sent me for Fingerprints on my interview day. There are 3 INS offices in Houston for FPs, the office I was sent to--- they messed up my A-number twice, I had to go back to Houston 3 times for it..... it's been a month since that and I still havn't gotten anything about my case.

  3. Thanks everybody..

my husband and I were also very  when we found out

we went to talk with the manager that day and got it fixed

he also said that it was him who typed my A Number wrong

but the next morning he called us and said my FP was fine and I don't have to go back again

I already had my interview so just hope there won't be any more troubles and I can get my green crad soon...

    Patty

  4. Usually you just need to do your FP twice at most

I had to do mine for 3 times...

After going to INS we finally foud out why....

THEY MISTYPED MY A NUMBER TWICE

so my first two FPs didn't count since they are not under my A Number

that's why FBI said they didn't have my FP record

we wasted all our money and drove 3-4 hours one way twice then got nothing done

    Isn't that something?

  5. Hi,

I had my interview (approved verbaly) in Houston back in Feb and got my Biometrics done the same day, but had to go back and redid my FP in March since it's unclassifiable.

2 weeks ago we recieved a ASC notice. Now I have to go back and do FP AGAIN but this time they didn't tell us why. I am really tired of doing the FP for my AOS only (I didn't apply anything else) If they can not get my FP I will have to keep doing it or what...? I wonder if anyone has the similar situation as mine?

Another thing is, when I tried to make sure that they didn't lose my FP data and I called FBI to ask them if they revieved my FP, they told me they never recieved anything from my local INS.... not even the 1st time or 2nd time... we thought of calling our interviewer to figure out what is going on, but USCIS wouldn't give out the local office numbers.

We have the name of our interviewer, does anyone know how to track the number and we can talk with our interviewer or have an appointment with him?

    Thanks

    Patty

  6. Patricia,

My wife's fingerprints were also not readable, so we too got a notice to appear. And yes it did look different then the usual biometrics notice or AOS interview notice. She will go in again Thursday.

Just to be on the safe side, for others who have had to re-do fingerprints, did you have any problems with AP? We did have a successful interview, but approval is pending due to the fingerprints, but I am assuming this would not affect AP? We had used AP before the interview and before we found out that her fingerprints were not good enough.

That's good to know that the notice I got on Mon (ASC notice) is different from others. That might mean we don't have to redo anything. We had a successful interview as well, and also had problems with fingerprints. What is AP btw....

  7. It isn't unusual for the AOS interview to take place and the Green Card be issued as soon as the biometrics are done.

When you had your fingerprints done, when the officer sent you down to the ASC, did they take your photograph too? I think you will find that full biometrics includes a photo. If the officer only sent you for fingerprints, the photo may be what they are waiting on.

Sorry that you have had to go back so many times, but you are so close now. As soon as they get your full biometrics done the card will be with you really soon.

The officer sent me for the full set, I had my photo (they asked me to take my earings off don't know why), signature and fingerprints done, just redid my fingerprints once. If I still don't have my green card next couple weeks, we will have to go back to Houston and find out why.

Girona - Its actually quite common now - several of us were in the same scenario but the interviewing officer would just order same day biometrics and we all had them done the same day despite them being sceduled differently. I think its the different workloads at different areas that is leading to this but I would suggest that patricia - you either call them or go there and find out if they want another set or not. We had received the biometrics appointment but it was sceduled after the interview - the interviewer took the biometrics appointemnt letter from us and issued another order for same day biometrics. Good Luck

We tried to call the 1-800 number on the ASC notice, but they said there's nothing they can do, they don't know if my biometrics is completed or not, we need to check with our local office.

Do you know any other numbers we can call to ? If not guess we will need to go down there if I still don't have my green card

  8. I had my interview back in Feb, before that I didn't get any ASC notice for a biometrics appointment. I had my first biometrics done the same day I had my interview (the officer sent us there), the officier also said when he got my fingerprints we would get our green card after 2 weeks.

But my fingerprints weren't good enough, so went to redo it in March. This Mon we got a letter said "ASC Notice" and gave us a date to do our biometrics (didn't mention anything about redoing fingerprints or anything else). I supposed they didn't know I had my biometrics done already so still sent me this.

I am wondering if anyone had their interview before biometrics...??

  9. They lost my husbands fingerprints as well, and he had to have them redone. I would schedule an infopass appointment. You can go to the USCIS website, (www.uscis.gov) and it's right there on the home page. You can go in and pick where you want to have the appointment, what day and what time. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Thank you... I have another question... what is the form look like told you that you need to redo your finger prints? I got one before and got it done, but the form I got this time looked different, it's a "ASC Appointment Notice", is this the form that they should give me before I had my interview? They knidda messed up my procedure, I had my interview first without having my fingerprints done.

  10. My wife had to do hers again. Just have them done again.

I already did it twice, the officer told us the 3rd time we should apply a police record and he would call us about it. Never heard from him though.

I would schedule an infopass appointment to get it all sorted out. INS loses stuff all the time, I wouldn't be surprised if it was lost or just mixed up somewhere.

Thanks for the info... but what exactely is an infopass appointment...? We tried to find out the number at the local office but they said they don't put the numbers in public, when my husband called to the 1-800 number on the notice we got today, the officer told us the only way is go back to INS and ask them. He said he COULDN'T help.

It will be great if we can make appointment or get in touch by phone with INS first... I just want to know what is going on with my case since it's approved verbaly.

p.s. I had my interview in Houston, went to the same INS for biometrics twice, I have to say the INS they sent me sucks.

  11. I had my interview back in Feb and the officer said he didn't have my finger prints and pictures so told us to finish it after our interview, he said within 3 weeks I should get my green card.

After 3 weeks he called us and told us that my fingerprints were unclassfiable so had to go back and redo it. The officer said if it didn't work, he would call us and we might need to meet him again. He sent us a notice for redoing fingerprints but we also got one from INS stated the same thing, just with a later appointment date. Anyway, my husband and I went to the same INS and redid all that.

Again, 3 weeks later, we got another notice said that we need to proccess my BIOMETRICS or my file will be abandoned. My husband call to immigration and talked with one of the officer, unfortunately he said he couldn't help because he is not the local officer, he didn't know what happen to my case or why we got a notice like that.

We are really confused now, we don't know if INS made a mistake and sent another notice or I have to go back and redo everything?

Does anyone have the similar situation like ours? Is it normal to have the biometrics first? We are really tired of going back and making up the mistakes other people made.
