  1. Oh boy... so I'm petitioning for my step-daughter (16 and unmarried) to come over and join me (USC) and my husband (green card holder). We got an RFE in the mail asking for the proof of legal termination of marriage between my husband and his daughter's mother... but they were never married! I called USCIS and finally spoke to someone and he was like "well, that's a new one for me. I guess have them both write a letter."  Has anyone had this happen before?? Will a letter from my husband suffice?  In the original I-130 application under previous marriages my husband said "N/A" so it just seems like someone messed up...

  2. My 16 year old stepdaughter has decided she wants to move over and live with her father (green card holder) and I (USC) after completing school this year. Does anyone know if there is a benefit to me applying as the USC, though I'm the step parent rather than her dad applying? I work part time and he works full time and therefore makes more of that matters!

  3. 1. petioner must be a US citizen.

    2. Rlationship should be bonafide.

    3. Both are free to marry and intend to do so within 90 days of benificiary's arrival to US.

These three points are verified thorugh a number of diffrent ways. Point 1 US citizen. They check birth certificate, us passport, certificate from department of health or any thng which can prove that u r US citizen. if u lack anythng they ask for RFE. RFE might be anythng u forgot to check anybox or or didnt fill up any field or u didnt submit anythng can turn into RFE. when u get RFE u will know what ther want. Dnt worry man keep fingers crossed i understand this time killing is very hard but we cant do anytnhg except to wait for RFE hardcopy.

You missed an important requirement - petitioner and beneficiary must have met within the last two years, and you must have primary evidence of this.

  4. Hi everyone, my fiance and I are still waiting for NOA2, but looking at getting things together for the I-134. Does London accept just tax returns or W2s from the last 3 years or do I need more than that? I've seen people getting letters from their bank or employer and I didn't think that was necessary if income was enough?
