  1. Hello My wife has been in the country since last November and we are still waiting for her I-485 NOA2. I was wondering where that would put her in the requirement to have health insurance since she is in limbo and is still waiting for her green card.

I am also wondering if she could be approved for some sort of subsidy from the government since she is just working part time. I have a better job but putting her on my plan would cost 200 more a month. Anyone think she will be evaluated by our joint income or rather single income?

Anyone have any experiences or ideas?

  2. Honestly it's this simple - it's HER name, not yours. SHE needs to live with it, not you.

You rarely use the middle name anyway so it's most likely most people won't even hear it.

Stick with what she wants and what makes her happy.

Yes thank you, Im totally with you on that but, but just trying to avoid any headaches for her behalf or any hangups throughout the AOS proccess. I guess anyone can change their name to what ever they want after the AOS is completed by going agency to agency

I just was hoping to hear from anyone that experienced any issues with the name changing through the process

  3. Hello Vjers just was having a discussion with my wife about changing her name on the AOS forms and need some help. She decided that she wanted to change her last name to mine. She is a Filipina though and she says its normal for your middle name to become your former last name and your last name changes to your husbands last name. So she filled out all the AOS forms with her former last name as her middle name.

but.... I thought it would be more appropriate for her to hyphenate her last name to include both our names and just drop her middle name. Here in America the women have middle names that are very similar to just your regular first name and that it would seem strange for her to have a middle name that sounds like it is a last name and aslo a boys name ( within the Hispanic Culture here in South Florida)

Anyone else have this discussion with their better half?

We kind of are just stuck as to what is the right way to do it and neither of us wants to budge.

    Please help us Dr. Phil

  4. Hello all i was wondering if any of you fiancees that have gone through St. Lukes where required to have a TB skin test before you got booster shots in the U.S.

I am calling around different clinics and they say they have to do one before they administer the booster vaccinations. Im wondering if this is some ploy to bring in more money or if there is some real reason it has to be done. My internet searches have revealed that they can be taken at the same time...So im confused

  5. Hello everyone i was reading about the there being a personal consent to marry if you are under 21? is that true? I am aware that there is a parental consent to marry and we are working on getting that done properly, but im just wondering if there is a personal affidavit of consent that has to be done as well

Im assuming this form can be done at the local civil registrars as well??

AHHHH the CFO is soo confusing

  6. Yes it's definitely required to have one.. better to be safe than sorry.. when I had my seminar I was asked by the counselor if I brought parental consent signed by my parents/guardian.. I have it notarized by attorney at our city hall.. I was 21 btw..

Thank you for your answer. I know the parental consent is required to have, but what im really asking is if the notarization can be performed by an attorney or is the notoarization required to be done by the civil registrars.

My fiancee wants to get it done with an attorney that she is already familiar with. So from what im gathering is that she can print out the consent from the link provided here or pick up the consent from the civil registrars and then just get it notarized from an attorney and then present that form to the CFO.

  7. I just talked to some airline people and they said it would be a good idea just to have the e ticket printed out in case the customs officials ask for it or raise an issue about it. I called the second airline that i bought my return flight with and they sent me an email with the e tickets inside so i can print them out and show them just in case.

I dont think there will be any issues ive been to the fil 4 times and they never raised any issues with entering the country there.

    thanks for the replies

  8. Thanks or the reply, I do have a return ticket but the flight out is with delta and the return ticket which was a separate transaction was with airchina . I guess i can just show them a printed email showing my purchase of the tickets. I hope that will be enough evidence

  9. Hello everyone. I just recently purchased a one way ticket to the philippines and got some email from my airline that i will be needing a visa for the flight... I do have proof of a return flight.

So i was wondering if anyone has done the same thing as me. I would hate to be turned away because i dont have a tourist visa for the philippines.. I dont plan on staying longer then 21 days but i guess since i didnt book a return flight with the same airline that there is some sort of requirement now?? i dont know. Im confused

  10. Hello i was wondering if you guys can help me out in describing the package that is received from the embassy to your fiance in the philippines... I just have gathered that there is a package or something rather that can't be opened. Then there is the passport with the visa inside?? Is there a seal?? I just don't understand.. my fiance is freaking me out because she says she wants to see her passport and wants to open something but i have no clue about what she is looking at.

What happens if the package is opened??

  11. Hello all , Has anyone had any success booking a hotel in manila for their fiance online without having any hang ups during the check in?

I wanted to book a room for my fiance for her interview but i know they sometimes ask to see the original credit card that was used for the payment online..

Has anyone had any successes or failures with this?

    .

  12. I was in the same situation . I just sent my fiance a parental consent form for the state of Nevada and had her parents sign it and get notorized there from the local civil registrar in her city. She then sent that back to me and i included it in the I-129f submission. We got our NOA2 in August.

I think the important part is that she is 18 by the time of the medical and interview...

Good Luck, let me know if you have any other questions

  13. Giselle went and did her medical today, arrived at 4 30 am and got number 8........she said it all went fast (she had the detailed info from the pinned topic) and was REALLY cold....done around 10:30 am told to come back at 1pm for vaccinations. By that time I went to sleep, so I just text her to see how it went...no answer....yim, no answer....call, she answer second time....so sad, she said...I did not pass...but why? something on the xray...I have to do treatment....    ...just joking.....

she thinks she's funny......I have to box her ears next week....... so everything went really good, just wanted to let you all know that one day is possible....

WOW!! this is exactly what happened to me!! two days ago when my fiancee went maybe I woke up around 4 in the morning and texted my fiancee anxiously and she texted back that she needs to do the sputum test with a :( . I didnt want to believe her and my heart just sank and then she texted back "joke lang" ehhhhhhhh she totally robbed me of my Yes! moment!

Im happy she passed though now its time to relax and bite the nails during the interview

  14. My fiannce went yesterday she was there at 4:30am and was finished by 5:00pm. They even let her leave for a while and told her to come back so she can have lunch.

They start the exams at 7:00 - 7:30 but like the website for SLEC says but there is some paper work to do before hand

  15. I think the fee is valid for one year not 7 days.. I guess the deposit slip is valid for 7 days though but i wouldn't know what one can do if something happened and you needed another valid deposit slip

The last line here says its valid for one year

The application fee for a K1 or K2 nonimmigrant visa is US$240, payable only in Philippine pesos at the

prevailing exchange rate. There are three ways to pay the K visa application fee: cash payment at any Bank of the

Philippine Islands (BPI) branch; online payment bill option provided by BPI to their clients; or online payment

through Bancnet. For additional information, please visit http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph. This visa fee is

non-transferrable and is valid for one year

  16. Does your income exceed the 125% requirement? If so you don't need bank statements at all.

Yep it does exceed the limit. It just gets confusing because the Manila Embassy has requirements that the I 134 instruction sheet doesnt have so you wonder if you need it all or not, but it helps to hear from someone that has succeeded in the process already

    Thanks for they replies

  17. Hello everyone so i went to my bank to get a statement from them.. I showed them the instruction sheet for the I134 form and they totally got it wrong. I appreciate them taking the time to do it but the bank person didnt take the time to calculate my deposits correctly and there was some mispellings too.

    Im just thinking about submitting

    Last 3 bank statements

    Last 3 IRS tax returns

Last 3 pay stubs ( printed from the internet because i have direct deposit)

and a Letter from my employer

    What do you guys think?
