  1. Thank you so much for your replies. I took a photocopy of all documents before I sent them off so have these copies and didnt think I would need to get second original copies of everything...seems a bit pointless and yet more expense and time. Apparently NVC send your file and all your civil documents onto your embassy and they are then returned at your interview...

Think i'm just panicking over the slightest thing right now!

Thank you all so much, I really appreciate the help :)

  2. Hello...

Calling on all help and advice...again! I am currently waiting on my Visa interview at the London embassy after submitting my DS 230 form last month to the NVC. I have been reading up on the documents needed to take to the interview and it seems to say I need to take the original or certified copies of the documents i already sent in with the DS 230 form.

I'm just a little confused as I already sent my original marriage certificate and police certificate with this last package and wondered if I have to obtain and pay for more copies of these again before the interview??

Any help would be very much appreciated!

    Thank you in advance,

    Joanne

  3. Hello..

Ok, I'm very confused (as usual!) and this website has always helped me with my other questions so apologies for this one aswell!

We sent off the DS-3032 to the NVC on 26th October 2010. My husband (my choice of agent) in the US hasnt had any paperwork through regarding the AOS fee so I called the automated number this weekend. It says the letter was generated on November 6th - I wondered if it should be with us by now as its been 4 weeks?

I logged in online and it said that payment for the AOS and the IV application was awaiting (and did give me the option to pay online then and there) but i thought we had to wait for written instruction to do this. Has anyone else's taken this long to get your AOS fee bill through the mail?

Any thoughts would be so helpful, thank you in advance.

  4. Ok thanks so much! That's really helpful. I was just concerned because this process will take about 6 weeks itself and wanted to see if it's something I'd have to do. I can change it eventually but funds are tight at the moment with everything else that we have to pay out for! Does your wife have to take any other ID with her though to show her married name when using her visa?

Thank you for all your help,

    Joanne

  5. Hi,

Im a little confused and wondered if anyone could help me with a question I have!

I am a UK resident and married my American husband in Feb this year, we just received our NOA2 and are now in contact with the NVC for the next stages. However, it occured to me that my passport has my maiden name on it and was wondering if this is something I have to change before I return to the States to match my married name (which will be on the visa)? I read that showing your marriage certificate with your passport would be sufficient but I wasnt sure. Everything is costing so much money with this process and wondered if the passport name change was a necessity?

I'd be so grateful if anyone has any experience or input with this.

Thanks in advance for your help!

  6. NOA2 to NVC -> couple of weeks

NVC Process -> 1 to 2 months (unless there is RFE or delay from your side)

NVC to Consulate -> Couple of weeks

    Medical & Interview -> 1 to 2 months

    Loto

Thanks for your help, sometimes you feel so frustrated as theres absolutely nothing you can do apart from wait. Glad i found this website though, its nice to hear how everyone else is doing and get some support. Thanks again, Joanne

  7. Hi,

I received my NOA1 on April 8th and still heard nothing. Am hoping its going to be within the next week or two, its so frustrating with all this waiting around. Does anybody know roughly how long we may be waiting for the rest of the stages to be completed after its come through? I feel like its never going to happen at the moment :(

Thanks and apologies for probably asking the same questions that everyone else does!

    Joanne
