Our story is rather simple - my husband and I met online. We chatted for a couple months, then decided to meet in person. Since that day, we have spent almost every weekend together. We got engaged over Easter 2009, and married in September 2009. We had to wait for our marriage certificate before we could apply...but once we got it, we sent of our I-130 right away. We did our application entirely on our own - no lawyers were involved. USCIS received our application on December 3, 2009 and we have been waiting ever since.
You have to take everything off (waist up) and wear a paper robe. When that is done, then you go down the hall and wait for an examination room. Once in there, someone will come in to measure your height, weight and blood pressure.
After that, someone will take a blood sample. Then you wait for a while (you might want to bring a book) and will be instructed to take everything off and put your paper robe back on. The doctor will come in to check out your vaccination records.
Then a woman (dr or nurse?) will come in and do the physical exam (look at your eyes, feel your throat, listen to your lungs and heart, breast, abdomen and genital exam). Once that is done, they give you a slip of paper and you are free to go. Not much to it!
