hi, i m in the same boat. i got one from germany and it is straight forward and takes max 10 days. that is what they say. you need to go on this website,

print and fill the form. take your passport with you to the german consulate (the is one in london, but many across the uk), you will need a cheque if paying in pounds (amount of 12.50 pounds) ... and also you need your stuff certified at the consulate that is why you are going there. it will also cost you 13 pounds for the consulate to do that. please note that you pay the 13 pounds in cash. there is no appointments needed. must simply be there before 11:30 if i have good memory.

how do you get the fingerprint validated. i lived in 3 countries (my native country, germany and united kingdom) do i need three police clearances?

also do i get the police clearance done before the interview or the us embassy has to request it before i do it...

please can you be of help. I want to find out if i have to do my police clearance for the United Kingdom and my Native country before going for the interview. I thought they are the ones to request for that on your behalf and you simply pay them the cost?

Also, I lived in Germany for 3 years before moving to the United kingdom where i have been living for 5 years. Does this mean that i have to do 3 police clearance?

K1 should be out in 1month (i mean, i should soon receive an invitation from the us embassy in london) but my uk visa exprires in 2 months. Should I extend my visa before going to the us embassy ? do you think it matters? if i extend my visa i wont go to the embassy until January as the Uk takes forever (3-4motnhs) to have a visa extended.

Do you know how long the process takes once they send your application to the embassy in London? Also, how long is the medical clearance and what happens after that?

if you dont mind me asking, when you are given the visa, how many days do you have to leave the Uk or is it based on the length of your visa? is it a 6 months or 1 year via...?

so i have no ideas as i just filed mine.

how long did it takes for the application to be forwarded to the us embassy? also did they call you once it came or you had to contact them to find out? how long did it take for you to have an appointment for medical clearance...
