First I'm not sure if I'm posting in the correct place. I'm new here so please forgive me.
My situation is this:
I came here with a student visa. I went to school and then stayed after my visa expired. Now my girlfriend and I are getting married. We are trying to fill out the forms to send so I can get permanent resident status but we are not sure which forms to send.
Do I need to fill out the i 485? If so, what do I put as my current status? do i put Student visa and then in the expiration date I put overstay?
