  1. Hi all,

Just wanted to update you all. I had my interview on Thursday (8/15), everything went smoothly. The wait to be interviewed was longer than the actual interview itself!

Only bad thing was, the oath ceremony that day was being held at 10:45am :-( I was done with my inteview at 10:10am and the IO advised that they would be unable to fit me in as they needed an hours notice to process the certificates....I was gutted, although if I had got in at the 10:45am ceremony, then my family would not have been able to attend.

Today I received an email advising that I am now in line for Oath Ceremony...Will you just hurry up already.....

  2. I've had my interview scheduled for quite a couple of weeks now. Today I received a yellow letter too! It was just asking for me to bring the same things that I have already submitted in my packet. Though I'm going to add a few additional pieces like medical cards, car insurance and a few extra treats for them!

I was surprised that they sent this afterwards. Seems that most folks get the letter before their notice of interview.

  3. When I started filling out my N400 I originally left my step daughter off the forms, as the question said “How many sons and daughters have you had?” Then when putting my packet together I reread the instructions and noticed that it said “Count all of your children even if they are stepsons or daughters”. So with that I amended page 6, added my step daughter printed the page and put it in my packet. Or so I thought! I just pulled out my papers to start prepping for my interview on 8/15 ( I know I have several days to go) and noticed on the copy of my paperwork that I had included the original page with only my 2 children on it…As I read it, you can only imagine the colourful metaphors that were being expelled from my mouth.

So, I plan to take the correct copy of the page to the interview along with a copy and the original of my step daughter’s birth certificate. DO you think that I should offer up the information ahead of time? Or wait until they get to that section and then tell them the mistake that I made.

I would hate at this close stage in the game to have something that would cause them to delay or even deny my case.

Anyone been in a similar situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated J

  4. I received my letter on Friday advising me that my Biometrics appointment is on Tuesday 7/9/13. Thought they were supposed to give you a good amount of notice!! I'm supposed to be going on vacation that day, so off I go to the office 1st thing Monday to see if they can fit me in. I have a copy of my letter and my vacation confirmation, hopefully they will be nice!!

My Eligibility date is actually 9/13/08 - Just never got round to doing it until now.

  5. Some ASC will let people walk in for early biometrics, other times people will be turned away and told to wait until the actual date. I've done an early biometrics twice during the immigration progress, in different states. Both times no questions asked, in and out in around 5 minutes. If you look at my current timeline for the N-400 process I went in 16 days earlier than my scheduled appointment, and received my in line date just 2 days later.

Seattle ASC or Tukwila rather, allows early walk ins.

Thanks for the info, maybe I'll see if I can get down there once I have my biometrics notice. Now I've started the final steps, I just want to get it over & done with as quick as possible!!

  6. Well with one day to go I still have not heard anything. No check cashed. The information line are about as much use as a chocolate kettle. i have contacted both of my senators and they are looking into this for me. My job has been really good about all of it. they understand that i HAVE done everything that i could have done and have spoke to their attorneys and are saying that they will let me still work while i wait out this process. Hopefully i will have some good news real soon!!! Thanks for all your helpful advice i will keep you posted.

  7. I sent my forms off 56 days prior to my card expiry date, I thought that i was in plenty of time especially since i wanted to miss the deadline for the increased fees. My packet was received on July 23rd and then i heard nothing until i got my packet sent back to me. 15 days later, I got my packet back in the mail on August 7th along with a letter saying that now I must also pay the extra fees. I sent it back the next day USPS Express Mail, it got there on 10th Aug. So I thought that as I was still over 30 days until my expiration date i would have heard something but as of today (28 days since packet was received by USCIS) Nothing.
