  1. THANK YOU SO MUCH Stefann

That was so helpful! I have another question though..

Can you tell me all the documents that you had to bring to the interview (ie: DS forms etc...) ??

Your help is greatly appreciate it, also where in Indonesia are you from?

My fiancee has been in holland for 6 months (tourist visa) and she is heading out to indonesia next week to start preparing for all the docs and get ready for her interview.

Also where are you guys from the USA? I'm from Seattle, and i'm trying to get my fiancee some friends in the states. Thanks again, sorry this is long :)

uhm... for the docs i had to bring :

    1. DS-156 (this is online)

    2. DS-156k

    3. DS-230

thats all for the interview, and for the medical exam :

    1. DS-2053

    2. DS-3024

    3. DS-3025

    4. DS-3026

i am from Bangka Island, but live in Harapan Indah'Bekasi, close to Jakarta :)

where does your fiancee live in Indonesia?

my fiancee and i will live in wisconsin, i have no clue how far wisconsin to seattle ?

it will be nice if your fiancee and i can be friend :)

Good luck and tht is fine if u and your fiancee have some more questions, its nice to help with my experience :)

  2. INFO :

ok folks, so these are the rules :

    1. NOA2

    2. wait for letter of NVC and packet 3

Packet 3 : email from embassy about required documents you and your fiancee should prepare

before interview, u will get this email around 1 week after NVC sent out the pe

    tition to Embassy in Jakarta.

    3. since u got your noa2, prepare this docs: a. Original Affidavit of Support (Form I-134

fiance(e) visa applicants) from the petitioner

    b. One (1) year of US income tax returns 1040 &

W-2 (copies or faxes are acceptable)

    c. Bank statements and proof of assets.

    d. Letter of employment or job offer.

    e. new letter intent to marry.

    4. when you get your packet 3, prepared the docs asap

    5. medical check up, the fee for MEDIKALOKA : 997.000 rupiahs, the result can be take 3-5 days

    6. when u receive a snail mail from the Fiance (all docs from no.3), then, 3 days before you

get your medical result, if u want, u can reply the embassy' email and asking them to give

    your fiancee an interview' date.

    7. get your packet 4 "interview date"

you will get packet 4 the next day after u sent packet 3, and usually for Jakarta

Consulate, the interview' date is around 6-10 days after u received packet 4.

    THE INTERVIEW DAY :

    1. come earlier, even though the appointment at 8.00 am, u need to queue outside the embassy.

    2. show the appointment letter to the guard, because your fiancee's name is not on the

interview list on that day, the list is just for non-immigrant visa, and fiance visa is an

    immigrant visa for Jakarta Consulate.

    3. finally you are inside the Embassy.

    4. no need to queue here, go directly to the room in front of locket 3,this room is about

5-7 meters in front of locket 3, many people are queue in front of this room, but dont

care about them, just go inside the room directly.

    5. the guard will ask u "what do u wanna do Miss/Mr ?" answer : "i am doing immigrant

visa/fiance visa" , they will ask for your appointment letter

    6. you have to leave all your electronic stuff in this room, and they will give u an ID card

    7. go out of this room, u will meet a guard again, and he will asking "what group are you",

just tell him you are doing fiance visa.

    8. the guard on number.7 will tell you which room u have to go.

    9. after u get in the room, go directly to locket 5, "Screening documents" and the officer

will ask you to pay the visa fee in locket 6.

    10. the fee must be pay in rupiah cash, $350 = Rp.3.150.000

    11. after u get the receipt from locket 6, go back to locket 5, and if nothings wrong with

your docs, the officer will ask you to take a seat.

    12. u will be called for finger print (my experience , i just waited about 30 minutes after

docs screening for finger print, but my friend's experience, she had to waited for about

    4 hours).

    13. after fingers print, wait some more, and u will be called for INTERVIEW

    14. The interview is in room no.1

    15. The Co asked me about :

    a. where did u meet your fiance?

    b. when ?

    c. how many times he visited you ?

    d. where did u guys go when he was here ?

    e. what does he do ?

    f. has your fiance ever been married ?

    g. have you ever been married ?

    h. what does your father do ?

    i. what does your mother do ?

    j. do you have any brother or sister ?

    k. what does your sister do ?

    l. do you have pics of you guys together ?

if i m not mistaken, i gave 39 pics and his face was like "wow"

he looked at the pics quickly, then after about 15-19 pics, he stopped looked at the pics and gave it back to me.

He then gave me a WHITE SLIP (With a date on it) and said "WE WILL ISSUE YOUR VISA, PICK IT ON THAT DATE"

And, for you guys which still have more questions , u can ask me :)

    GOOD LUCK !!!

  3. Thanks for the comliment Utha :P

    the answers are :

    1. after get your noa2, fill the i-134 form and have it notarized, letter of employment, pay stubs, proof of your assets, proof of your savings in your Bank account, new letter intent to marry.

    2. u will get packet 3 through email , US embassy in Jakarta will email u about wht kind of docs your fiancee needs for her interview, forward this email to her and complete all docs quickly

    3. after u have completed all docs required, reply the embassy's email and asking for interview date, usually one week after u sent the packet 3

    4. after you guys get packet 3 from embassy, make appointment to the doctor directly for medical exam, this time u have to stay at hotel since the medical places are in jakarta.

    suggestions :

email the embassy 3 days before u get the medical exam result, so u will not wait too long for interview date

if still have questions, just ask me and i will answer your questions from my experience asap :)

    GOOD LUCK !!!

    GBU

  4. HA i'm sorry i know it is probably overkill and that i'm being totally neurotic about it but i am just trying to avoid a second RFE!!! thank you so much again!!!

lol, no problem, honestly i am glad my experience can help you and it is fine to share it as long as it can help another folks, i know how does it feel, i was also afraid about second RFE, but don't worry, u will get noa2 soon after you mail the RFE back, let me know if u need some more help :)

  5. thank you so much for your response, it is very helpful! i am wondering if you would be willing to private message me a copy of what you submitted for the explanation about circumstance of meeting? i felt my first explanation was pretty detailed so i would like to see one that they accepted as satisfactory. thanks again for the info.

lol, ok, that is fine, i will send you what my fiance wrote about circumstance of meeting :)

lets check your message in few minutes, i am copying now :)

  6. I received an RFE yesterday (hard copy). It says I need to show further proof of having met in person. The two options it lists under that heading are "circumstances of meeting" and "last personal meeting." Obviously I answered question 18 in the petition which I think addresses "circumstances of meeting" so should I assume they did not believe/accept my explanation? What else can I say/send to respond to this request? Also, "last personal meeting" isn't a problem since I just went and visited him in early November. However, he isn't in his home country. I have never been to his home country. We have requested on the petition form that our case be sent to the embassy in the country where he is currently living and that is the country I just visited so my boarding passes, air fare receipts, and passport stamps will be for that country. Does anyone forsee this being a problem?

we got the same rfe, it was asking about circumstance of meeting like no.18 on i-129f form, it doesnt mean they did not believe you, they just want more detail, write your circumstance of meeting in more detail, and also same with the last personal meeting

my fiance wrote it in 2 different sheets about circumstance of meeting and last personal meeting :)

and then about proof of meeting within last 2 years, my fiance sent

    1. passport pages with Indonesia' visa

    2. ATM transaction in indonesia

    3. hotel bill

    4. itinerary

    5. 8 pictures,he wrote about date, place, and what were we doing on the back

it is ok if you have never been in his home country, so u also need to submit the proof that your fiance was in a same place when u visited :)

    Good luck

  7. WAHOO!!! NOA2 email yesterday, 12/7!!!!!!!!!!!!! Exactly one week from the receipt of my RFE materials. They asked for proof of citizenship, proof that we've met in the last two years, and intent to marry. (I included all those things the first time, but WHATEVER.) So I mailed back copies of both my and my fiance's passports, letters from friends, coworkers and my pastor, emails/contracts for wedding related stuff, screen shots of photos w/digital dates from media card, and a pleading letter! Hahaha...Either way, WE GOT APPROVED! And now it's on to the next round!

Some friend from work surprised us with plane tickets for my fiance to come for Christmas/New Year's/our birthdays (mine's the 23rd and his is the 25th of Dec)!!!!!!!!! They knew we couldn't afford a trip and got together and bought it themselves!!!!!! So my BABY IS GOING TO BE HERE IN TWO WEEKS, arriving ON my birthday!!!!!!!! What an AMAZING December this is shaping up to be!! GOD IS GOOD!

Question--who receives the letter from the NVC? The US citizen or my foriegn fiance or both?

CONGRATZ Hloo, finally !!!

  8. They are finally working on the July petitions.

I just got an email from USCIS saying they mailed a notice for RFE on Dec 7th. Does anyone know how much time they give you for a deadline to respond.

It will take at least a week for there letter to get to Thailand and a week for a return letter.

Can I call the National customer service center ( 1-800 #) and find out what evidence they need so I can get a head start on collecting it ? If so where are they located or what time zone and what time they open so I can figure out the time difference,I can't find it on there site. Do I need any information other than my WAC # when I call?

Sorry for all the stupid questions, I'm not all that computer savvy.

in my case, they gave us time about a month to complete the docs they needed and mailed back to USCIS, they wont tell u about what evidence they want, so dont waste your money to call, my fiance called them after we got email about rfe, and they told us to wait for the mail to know what kind of rfe they want :)

    Good luck :)

    :wow:

After over 6 months of waiting, got an email notification just now that we were approved yesterday!!!! AND while here visiting my baby in Malawi!!! BEST DAY EVER!!!!!!!!!

i am soooo happy for you

hopefully the rest of your K1 journey will be smoothly

  9. Wow you got your NOA2 so fast after they received your RFE! Did they update your case to approved online? Or did your NOA2 just arrive in the mail?

yeah, it was pretty fast, we got email for RFERR, but i never get email for NOA2, my fiance got it in the mail, he was soo surprised and nervous in a same time, he was afraid if the letter is another rfe, because it was soo fast, but he was so relieved when read "the above petition has been approved" i am glad u have sent the rfe back, i hope u will get noa2 soon,

we got a touched on 16 nov, this is for rferr, and the other one on 17 nov, tht is all :)

  10. This is a good thread. I just joined in the last hour, and already wishing i had known about this site 4 months ago when we filed. We got the NOA1 like a week after but heard nothing since, and after cecking the check list here, i know for a fact that we didn't send in the letters of intent as we were never told to! ARGH! Expecting a RFE soon. Anyone know how much time this might add? Thanks

for me, i got rfe almost 5 months after my noa1's date, and got noa2 2 weeks after rfe' email from USCIS

    Good luck :)

  11. the primary evidence for proof tht u n ur fiancee have met within last 2 years :

the best one : passport pages with visa stamps on it (visa from your fiancee's country)

    pictures are secondary evidence

we got RFE for this, so u better prepare and u will not get a rfe :)

since u said u both living together, your shared home will be a good evidence, and also if u have any bill with both of your name on it, find any docs or proof showing both of your name in a same place

  12. I hope so much its ourr NOA2, but to b honest I think we´ll get an RFE, because we just sent pictures as evidence of meeting in person, and I read that this is just secondary evidence. Unless the USCIS has in there computer somewhere that I was an au-pair from 07-09 which I doubt. :)

If we get an RFE could I coontact you for futheer questions and advice?

    of course :)

u can ask me anything you wanna know, and i will try my best to help you, i know how does it feel when we wait for noa2 and we get rfe,lol

i really hope u get noa2 directly without rfe, but if u get rfe, u can contact me for further information :)

1 of my rfe was asked "proof of meeting", the best proof is copy of passport pages with visa stamps (in your case) your passport with visa stamp entering USA or your fiance's passport with visa stamps entering Germany :)

    Good luck :)

  13. I have seen many people come on this site feeling helpless after a heartbreaking disappointment either from a denied petition, complications, or just trying to prepare for what’s ahead. In their quest for directions, I have observed people kick them while they were down. I have observed mockery. I have observed sarcasm with disrespectful intentions. I have observed bullies and I have observed disrespectful tones either in response to the OP or a participant’s comment.

Just before you make a comment, bear in mind this site is rich in diversity, and you can’t use your own cultural exposure to judge others’.

It is ok to introduce some humor but let it be to cheer up the OP/participant(s) and not to mock. If you have nothing respectfully constructively to say, please, don’t waste your time commenting. We are all adults already married or about to, so, please, show some class.

It is ok to disagree as there are always different perspectives to an issue. If you want to hide behind your computer and be rude …take that sh*t somewhere else where you can “freelance” as much as you want.
