  1. You know, I thought that I would hear something in the wee hours as well. In fact, I didn't sleep really well that night, and left the computer on and the volume up incase he called. I woke up several times, to lunge over to the computer and make sure no missed calls.........Since no cell phones are allowed in the building, I had to wait a REALLY long time (I was at work already!) for him to get all the way back home before he could tell me how it went.

Hehe. Well he originally lives in Manchester, but has an uncle in London, so he's staying over there tonight. Going to leave his cell at Gould Pharmacy and then once he gets it back he'll text me. Nervous and overeating because of it! Not good things.

  2. My husband's interview is tomorrow. I'm so anxious. It'll be in the wee hours of the morning here when I find out anything. He's only got some basic info from me that he forgets under stress, like numbers and names and things like that. And also a few wedding photos and older photos. But other than that, that's all he is taking besides the necessary stuff from the interview letter. Everything's run smoothly so far, no RFEs or anything, so hoping tomorrow is just as smooth.

Apparently someone from here had an interview yesterday - I wonder what happened with that?

  3. What is the deal with making new threads? It's not like the UK forum is super busy anyway. The last thread on the first page wasn't touched since August 16th. Making a new thread here isn't hiding "more relevant" ones. You're getting upset over an internet forum. Chill out. Dodi gets your point - she just doesn't care. A lot of the other threads are only being bumped with "Congrats!" and other 1-3 word posts that add nothing relevant for most. That's fine for them. I, for one, like seeing new threads and new developments, even if it's a little reiterated, with comments other than simple gestures of goodwill.

  4. Congrats.

Do you think you will be buying the plane ticket before hand or after you for sure have the visa in hand? Our interview is on September 9th. I want to wait til we have the visa, but I know it will be much more expensive then =/. I was thinking of going ahead and buying them now for a date two weeks after the interview... the difference in cost is a few hundred dollars! Haha, I'm wanting to save money, but thinking "what if the visa doesn't get there in time..." (for some strange reason).

  5. It's bad form to call people trolls on here, especially established members like twowls and Melissa, no matter what you think of them. I don't really want to kick things off in the UK forum again now that there is relative peace, but it is rather odd to see new VJers taking pot shots on a regular basis at the older members.

    Internet is serious business tonight.

Also, new member doesn't automatically = not a long time lurker.

  6. Sign in failed 4 days after I submitted the DS-230 package  . Does anyone know how long will it take for MTL to assign an interview date? What are the next steps ? Thank you for any information.

Wow, four days after submitting the docs or four days after it entered their system?

Also, you've missed September interview time and will most like get an October. Good luck!

Oh, and if you haven't already done your medical exam, then go ahead and schedule that.

  7. What are you trying to imply? I thought you would have some sympathy for me, given that we have hung out a few times.

    Drama all up in hurr.

For what it's worth, the Russian wife catalog thing isn't bad to say. It's stereotypical humor, which is some of the best humor in moderation. Don't worry about it. Also, who cares what everyone else says about American women? It's all stereotypes and it's all funny. If people are actually getting up in his face personally and telling him he shouldn't be with you, he can tell them to eff off.

Stop caring so much. Life gets a lot easier. :)

  8. I am a USC and went to a clinic in the UK once. Had a urinary tract infection. I had bought insurance, and had the papers with me, but the doc didn't even ask for them or anything. He saw me, gave me antibiotics, and sent me on my way for free.

  9. Thanks for the reply. I wasn't really concerned because we have all the substianting proof of the legitimacy of our relationship including boarding passes from 4 trips to india within one year..if that ain't love, i don't know is..lol.but i have been researching the interview questions and time after time, this same one keeps coming up of whether or not the parents have met the spouse etc...and if they are ok with the marriage. In our case, he pretty much rebelled against his parents which is completely out of the ordinary for India. Just making sure that isn't going to hurt us.

I wouldn't imagine they'd ask him that. If asked the question about whether or not the two met each other, then answer just either yes or no, whichever is true. No need to elaborate or worry. I highly doubt they would probe into either answer you give, and if they do, just explain they don't really approve because of traditions or whatever, and leave it at that. It won't affect your case even if the question is asked, so don't worry. :)

  10. I am Happy to inform you guys that i just recieved mail from the NVC...INTERVIEW DATE SEPTEMBER 7TH AT 2PM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

woooooohooooooo...oh my God i am still shaking!!!!! :bonk::bonk::thumbs:

Congrats! I hope we all hear about September interviews soon, too. However, I'm sure Belgium's expats aren't quite as numerous as many of our other countries. :)

Also, did they send both petitioner and beneficiary the email notice, or only the beneficiary?

  11. well,we sent copies too.originals(twice) and copies(twice) and tax return i don't have because i don't wrk :) we have sponsor,I mean joint sponsor and they said that's all ok,nothing else is needed. Pics,yes..lots of them. Some very privat,hahahaha...if they want prooof,it's on the pic ;))) Anyway-it's mostly us two on pics and some of his family because we got married there and we'll have another(church) wedding here for my family. Now,what was your trick question(if you want to share0 because questions like-what my family think of him-is plain stupid more than tricky..unless they read minds :))))) By the way,he goes,i don't.I am citizen, married to non-citizen.I was just wondering about this documents they told me 5 times at NVC(i called all the time, hahaha) will be ready there and nothing else is needed. So..we'll see in two weeks.

Don't worry about it. If NVC says the Embassy will have them, then they will. Or they should. And you aren't at fault if they don't. Just have him bring his passport and the passport sized photos, and any other supporting documents or photos you wish to bring.

I, too, had your same question. But NVC does say they'll forward everything over. I only made a copy of my I-184 and nothing else... all my original and certified docs are with NVC or somewhere else, so Embassy better get them. :)

  12. Guys, just out of curiousity what is after SIF? is this an indication of Case complete? how long they take to assign an interview date? what is the next step once you get SIF? how do you track that it has been sent to Embassy..

I just called the NVC and AVR said my case was completed on August 4. SIF just means your case is complete, and AVR confirmation on that follows SIF shortly after. I'm not sure how to track it all exactly, but I think there is a thread about that here somewhere.
