  1. AWESOME NEWS!!! Her passport is ready for pickup! No waybill number, no email from DHL, no update on CSC...

I decided to email Montreal embassy. I instantly got an automatic reply saying don't email for status of passport or for DHL inquiries. It gave me a link to track courier services: http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/content/content.asp?section=visas&document=visa_generalinquiries

After trying the Montreal number about 10 times and reaching "technical difficulties" while being transferred to a representative and automatically hanging on me, I then called the toll-free Canada number. The lady said the passport is ready for pickup in Ottawa and gave me the waybill number and a reference number!

So happy and I can confirm we got it within the 7 business day period :D

  2. FYI for people picking up package in Montreal DHL locations:

1.People picking up package in Montreal should select Dorval if its convenient. Picking another location seems to add another day.

2.Also it looks like tracking of the package can be started on day 1 without waybill number - Go to website http://www.loomisexpress.com/ca and track package using reference number on CSC applicant summary page.

3.Waiting for email or phone call or status update on CSC applicant summary page seems unreliable.

Thank you for your reply! I tried doing number 2 and put in the reference number but it said "No record found for this reference number." If I call DHL do you think they can be more helpful?

  3. I'm not entirely sure about this (take it with a grain of salt) but I think they mail out visas in large batches, so you just might have to wait a few more days... Sorry if that's not very helpful. If the poll is correct then most people do get their visas in under 7 business days, but a noticeable chunk get them after 7 business days as well. You might just be unlucky- it hasn't been tooooo long yet.

Yea, that's what we thought. Someone also said that they think they mail them out on Fridays. But if it was printed on the 15th, shouldn't it have gotten out last week?

  4. Hi guys,

My fiance had her interview in Montreal on Aug 12. We called DOS and they said it was printed on Aug 15 but we still haven't gotten a waybill number or any emails or calls from DHL. Any suggestions on what we can do or who to contact next? I've seen so many posts on here that I'm kind of lost. Should I contact DHL or the embassy or should I wait a couple more days? Today is the 7th business day since the interview...

    Thanks for your help!

  5. YAAY! My fiance had her interview in Montreal today and she was approved!!! We are so glad this process is finally nearing to an end!

Although I do not post on here much, I do check it everyday, several times a day and I just want to say thank you to everyone for sharing your experiences to make other people's journey much easier! THANK YOU!

  6. Thanks for all your replies, but thankfully we were able to get another interview time for Aug 12. That should be enough time to get the medical exam results and all the other paperwork we need.

BTW, I have been keeping track and it seems like new interview times are opened up on fridays after 6pm. For the past three weeks, every Friday after 6 there have been open appointments in august. So if anyone is looking for an earlier time, keep refreshing during this time!

  7. I tried to post this as well but I was in a hurry to leave the house to catch a flight...

We prayed so much for an earlier date because we really needed it for our schedules, problem is, I think it might be too early! The medical exam is scheduled for August 2 and we just rebooked the interview for August 3. Do you guys know if we will be able to get a new appointment for a medical exam this coming week, or would they be already fully booked?

If it is too late to get an earlier medical exam date, can we send in her exam results to the embassy a day or two after the interview?

  8. Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let you all know that it took about 10 days from the interview for her to get the Visiting Visa. And they asked her only a couple questions at the POE... she made it in!!!

She's here in the US with me and is staying for about 10 days then she'll go back to Canada.

But to all the people who say it is hard to get a Visiting visa while K-1 is processing... it was super easy for us (Thank God)!

Thanks to everyone who helped out!

  9. On April 28, 2011, we received your response to our request for evidence. This case is being processed at our VERMONT SERVICE CENTER location. at last.........

Now we have to wait but How long does they take? My RFE is about passport photos my boyfriend forgot.. :help:

I got my NOA2 just 4 days after I got that message... you'rs should be soon :)

  10. Good Morning to all VJ members!!!

We finally received our NOA2 for our K-1 visa 182 days from your NOA1 date!!!

We had an RFE a couple weeks ago. I sent it back and within just 2 weeks our application was approved, i'm so excited :D

Just gotta hope that the Montreal Embassy picks up the pace and starts allowing people to book interviews!

I really want to thank everyone on here for answering all of my questions and always being there! Patiently, we will all make it through!

  11. Hello Everyone, I just wanted to ask another quick question. So my fiance applied for a Visiting Visa and at the interview, she was told that she was approved. But the officer told her that it might take a little while for her to get the visa. I assumed she was told that because she interviewed on April 8th, the time of the possible Gov. Shutdown...

It's been two weeks and she still hasn't received the visa. The officer did give her a letter indicating "further administratives processing". Is that a normal letter or is her application going thru extra review?

When should she expect a final decision and the visa in hand?

  12. Hopefully it shouldn't affect it. Also, if you think about it, it might be a good thing! You applied to go for a visit, but were denied, so now you're applying for an immigration visa. It shows how much you want to go to the US!

Just out of curiosity, were you denied the visiting visa when you were at the embassy for the interview, or were you denied at the Port of Entrance?

  13. Yea, they won't be able to tell you anything if you call. I got an RFE email on the 14th, it said my hard copy was sent out on the 13th. I was expecting to get it a week later, but it actually came on the 15th. Just two days after they sent it.

The RFE was because they wanted evidence I was a USC. Apparently my birth certificate wasn't issued by the correct authority. I quickly made a copy of my passport and sent out the same day :innocent:

    Good Luck!

  14. Yes, I did include my birth certificate (even the page with my footprints). And as for evidence, I Included EVERYTHING: hotel receipts, dinner receipts, movies, credit card statements, about 10 pictures (with date and location written on the back), email conversations, skype calls list. We even got notarized letters from friends and neighbors admitting we have a relationship and plan to marry when she comes to the us. I'm pretty sure it's going to be something extremely lame.

What's frustrating is that we are on a time crunch, we really want to have the wedding in September, because October-Dec i'm going to be really busy with work. And other people in Nov received their NOA2 the same day I got my RFE. That means they could have approved ours as well...

But I am grateful that ours was touched, I know other people in that have Sept NOA1s are still waiting, so I wish the best of luck to them, and patience to us all!
