  1. called just nvc, they told that they finished scheduling interviews for january, my case is completed on 11-10-2010,Sign in failed on 11-23-2010, hope for a appointment for february

Sorry for not receiving January, hopefully it will be February, that's odd ur case was completed on 11/10/2010 and ur sign in failed on 11/23. normally, sif is the day after the case was completed.

  2. I called them. They sent me an RFE. I sent them a certified copy of his divorce degree they say they want the original. And they said they need a police clearence from a country that he lived in for less than 12 months. (which the civil documents states any other country that the benificiary lives in less than 12 months does require a police clearance  ) Wonderful. Welcome to my life.

Remember 20 days does not include Saturday and Sunday because they are close. Thank God you got a response now. The Police certificate is always a problem, i got one a rfe as well for the same thing my husband lives on another island for less than a year and they gave us a rfe. Take care of it quickly so that your case can be completed in time for February. Cases complete waiting is ( 8-11 business days not counting holidays) Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Hello Friends,

While my IV and AOS package was already entered on NVC system, I became US citizen and sent the copy of my naturalization certificate to NVC requesting for upgrade the preference category on 11/19.

I received below email reply from NVC today asking for some short of amended forms.

    ***********************************

    Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

The NVC has received notification indicating that the petitioner is a citizen of the United States. The beneficiary's preference category has been changed.

A letter was mailed to the Agent of Choice or Attorney of Record requesting the amendment of previously submitted applicant forms and/or required applicant documents that have not been submitted. The documents listed on the letter and/or the amended forms must be submitted to the NVC in order to complete the processing of this petition.

If the beneficiary needs a form, please visit www.ImmigrantVisas.State.Gov, Applicant Document Processing to download a copy of the DS-230 and/or the instructions. If you do not have access to the internet, you may wish to visit your local library or an internet café.

If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact with the NVC (by email, telephone or mail), all submitted fees and documents will expire. In that case, your fees will need to be repaid and documents will need to be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process.

    ***********************************

Is there anyone who went through the similar situation?

What did you guys do in this situation and what exactly should be sent to NVC now?

Thanks ! waiting for your suggestions !

Ok, You should call NVC, They will tell you exactly what you need to resubmit. Call First thing Monday, This will delay your case trying to get answers from here. Check with NVC AND IF SOME VJers offer to help check with them as well. Good Luck!!!!

  7. This is my review :) good luck Angela and Wayne :)

I got to the embassy at 7 am, I asked to the person in charge of the lines, she asked me to show her the letter, I explained that I got my interview by phone, so she asked me the first page of the visa instruction with my case number and told me to wait, I waited for one hour and finally at 8 am I went in the usem.

inside I went to line #40 where a nice woman gave me a green folder to organize all the papers, I had to put the I 864 (take copies with you) and the DS 230 too. after that she told me to sit and wait. after 3 hours of waiting I was called to wondow #7 and a nice woman too :) asked me who was the petitioner, and organize all the papers and open the medical and the migratory certificate and put them back in a folder with some new forms in there (for the consul to fill) .

she told me to sit and wait for fingerprint taken, so after 2o mins they called me again and had my fingerprints taken, and 10 mins later I was called to window 1 where I paid 808.000 (404) cus it hasnt had paid before. then the cashier told me to wait for my interview.

it was a cold day, it rained cats and dogs, and as it was in the outside with a roof, but you could get wet easily cus it was rainig like crazy :(. my feet were frozen. I saw many k1s got denied and I was kind of nervous. and Finally, at 2. 20 pm the consul said my name in window 4, the conversations was in spanish, she spoke to me in English too, she apologize but i said I could understand since my hubby doesnt speak spanish completely. so she asked where we met and it was funny cus ten mins later she asked the same, she asked me about my exchange visa (J1) I gave her the DS 2019 ans explained her why I had 3 of those. then, she asked me to show her pics, there is one in which my husband is holding a guanabana so she laughed and I explained that he really loves that fruit cus it's not common in usa, she asked me where the pics were taken, how many times has he been to colombia (6 :)) I gave her dates and everything, I explained why he couldnt have come thi time, she asked where he owrked so I talked a lot about his ex job and his actual one.

she typed something and I was freezing and nervous, but I was sure what I was saying cus it is true. and finally, she smiled at me and told me i could go to Domesa and pay :) i was like, can you pich me??? lol

In general it was very smooth but the winter was the worst thing today, In was in the USEM until 3 10 pm and I got there at 7am, my advise is get there on time not before. they let people in at 7.30 am anyways. :) goos luck to al those who read my review,

I am really happy for after all that waiting you have finally got through best wishes to you and your husband
