I am not posting any review on the embassy, everything that's there pretty much covers it. One tip though, for the girls, get a pap smear done and take it with you to see the doctor.
Good luck and hang in there!

Hi everyone ..
I want to thank all of VJ for sharing all your moments, take off our doubts and could not fail to share this moment that is very thrilling, yesterday 01/04 I had my interview and thank God it was APPROVED!
Good luck to everyone that we are waiting for their documents, NOA1, NOA2 soon or when we least expect it coming. Thank you all
Good Luck.
Congrats again and thanks for posting the review. It's quite the help for us waiting nervously.

Just curious - what was you NOA1 date?
It's in my timeline. August 6th, I think. Sorry, I'm not even sure... It's either the 6th or the 9th.
-
Thank you all for the posts, I am sure your time will come soon too, they seem to be moving faster. God help you on your journey!
-
Congratulations on your NOA2.
Since your NOA1 was 2 days ahead of ours and at CSC too maybe there will be movement on ours soon. Maybe they did not put them in File 13 (trash can). Irina and I are at 6 years, 4 months, 1 day into our journey.
Yeah that's exactly why I made it a point to post this here, I wanted all of you to feel better and renew your hopes that it'll happen sooner than you think! Hang in there, y'all!!!

Congrats to you! Maybe the warmer weather in California makes it easier for people to get work done. Vermont seems to move like maple syrup..... Lots of us on the east coast are still waiting......
Sorry to hear that... Hang in there, it'll come soon.

I KNOW the petition was approved and not the visa. I guess everybody else got my point but thanks! I'm still happy, it WILL be approved.

Hello everyone!
I am posting this to give you guys the great news! I just got an email from them saying our visa was approved! It'll be my birthday next week and I could not have asked for a better present!
So hang in there y'all! Your time is coming too!
God bless you!

I am amazed and embarassed.

All expenses including but not limited to her visa expenses, airline return tickets and cost to come to the United State, US domestic travel, lodging, boarding, food, incidental expenses and medical insurance.
Hi Elo!
I don't quite understand what your question is... I am about to get my date too and my fiance and I were just talking about the I-134. If you want to PM me so we can speak Portuguese, it's cool, maybe I can help.
Good luck and congratulations!

My husbands CR1 was appoved at nvc on dec 8, 2010, it hase been forwarded to haiti and I am waiting on an appointment date. When contacting the NVC they state they don't know when appointment will be scheduled but is CR1 and K1 being expedited for all Haitian petitions
Wish they'd expedite mine too. It has been a while and not having a job doesn't make things any prettier. Such is life.

Hello A&T! Thanks for the quick reply!
I actually have an account there. I guess then that there haven't been any updates? I'll find the link you mentioned, though. Many thanks!! And GOOD LUCK!!!
Yeah I signed in, that's what I was doing wrong...
No updates, just so you know.
Thanks a lot!

You actually need to create an account with USCIS in order to see the updates (not only enter your case number to check the status of your petition). I think the link reads "sign-up for case updates" or something of that nature. You may still not se updates though, as members have reported that they received NOA2, yet they never got any case updates! Apparently, not a totally reliable method.
I also hope to get my approval in January!

Hello VJ fellow strugglers!
Quick question: I keep seeing people mention their last update on the US Immigration Site but I can't find it anywhere. All I see is that perennial blue circle saying Initial Review... <sigh>
Could you point it out to me, please? I know it won't make a difference but I wanna SEE it...
This is me hoping that we'll get the NOA2 in January! Fingers crossed! Good luck and strength to us all!
Thank you!

Ever thought of using money order? Like Moneygram or something like that? I'm sure they're in the Philippines.
-
Maybe not, Sufrank! I came across it in the Brazilian Portal... Doesn't matter, all good.
-
Sorry, just realized you're applying for a different visa. Never mind!

This is coming from 3 NVC workers I've talked to on the phone.
First, one of them mentioned it offhand, but didn't really explain it.
Second, someone explained it, but not very well, and noted that it'd been introduced in October.
Third, I finally asked for more specifics to find out how long my case would take, and he mentioned the supervisor's working on cases in the pipe.
Hi!
Erm my case has just hit 12 weeks... What would that new system mean to me? Do you think I should call and ask about anything?
Thanks!

Oh John! I hadn't seen your reply! You guys rock!!! Let's hang out when us girls are finally in the US!
God bless real love!
-
Oh my... would the same apply to me and my 'boy'? lol I'm turning 40 in January and he's 'only 28'!
I'm the 'culprit' in this case! I'm the cougar.
If the consul asks me why such a much younger man, I am gonna HAVE to laugh.
Anyway, in all seriousness, there's no big issue here in Brazil regarding the age gap, either older man or older women, as long as you're not underage (under 18) and if it's true that there's no 'cut age' then all you need is to be firm and show that you KNOW what you are doing and why and I'm sure you'll have no problem.
But I agree with what someone has said twice here, be ready to answer these questions and be somewhat drilled because they can and they will do so. And honestly, they should, because you are truly young and must be sure of what you're doing. So the best to avoid getting too nervous, in my humble opinion, apart from being prepared is: don't take it personally, they are just doing their job.
Good luck, anyway. I'm sure that if your love is real, everything will be alright.

@Menina: Thanks for the support. Getting the NOA2 is after all the only news we really want to get.
@Baron: '...Only in August...Stop worrying.' All easier said than done. Guess men are tougher than us, girls. It is after all my first time and I was just posting to ask if anyone had the same experience and now that I know it's a common thing to happen, especially for my country, of course I am less worried. But thanks for trying to help in your own not-so-sweet way lol.

Patience, patience, patience. What else, right?
Everything has been sent correctly and we can only wait and hope it doesn't take much too long now. Who knows, I can even spend my next birthday with my man?
Thanks everyone for the prompt replies.

Hello everyone!
I'm starting this new topic and I know that it may happen that it'll be moved and/or deleted because this info could be somewhere I haven't looked yet, even though I doubt it because it's part of my productive waiting process to read VisaJourney.com regularly and the Forums are my favorite. It's very reassuring to find people out there going through the same anguish as us.
The thing is that I have seen a lot of people in these Forums who have filed their petitions on similar dates as George and I and either they have been touched several times or have already received their approval and then I instantly rush up to the Immigration page, and yes, I have set up an account to receive emails but you know, when you're waiting for something SO important to you, you always hope that there could be some glitch and the email never got to you, etc, well you know the drill, only to find nothing there.
Anyway, question is, why is it that so many other people got some kind of news and even approval and our case hasn't even been touched, not a single time. I am starting to feel a bit scared by that. Should I? Should we do something about it? There probably isn't anything we can do at all, anyway. <sigh> Help! Somebody?!
Does NOA-2 Exist?

Your I-129f was approved in 148 days from your NOA1 date.
Your interview took 197 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.
Looooooooooong time, but it happens. Hang in there!
