A great news was waiting for me in the mail box today, a letter from the USCIS was confirming the condition removal approval! Yay! Finally! It seals the end of an almost 3 year long process. My immigration journey ends here!! Best of luck to all of you!

If you look at the timelines you can see that the time it takes to get approved really varies from one person to another. This being said it is taking longer and longer to get approved. Just one year ago an I-751 file was processed and approved in 3-4 months...

Hello all,
Ok so it's going to reach the 2 year mark period already and it's time to deal with paperwork headache again.
I have a question for those of you who have been through it already.
My wife had past due to the IRS dating back from before we got married. We live in California which is a community property state. After consulting with an accountant we opted to file separately since otherwise the IRS would deduct my wife's debt from my tax return.
The bad side of it is that now we do not have joint tax return documents to provide. We have otherwise a joint account, a lease in both our names, bills, car insurance policy in both names, and several official document showing same address.
Do you think these evidences will make up for the lack of tax return papers???
Thank you for your input.

Hi all,
We filed an AOS package early last august. Everything went fine, and we have the interview scheduled for November 10. The thing is that my wife lost her job. Is it going to be a problem at the interview? I'm in the US on a J1 visa and have an income. Can I use my income for the i-864?
Any advice, ideas, welcome.
Thanks and the best of luck to all of you in your journey

Hi All,
We filed AOS package on August 9, and we received the appointment letter for the interview November 10th. Along with the list of documents to bring, I am confused about the I-864, since they say "unless already submited". As you may know, the AOS package includes the I-864 form. So yes I already sent it. My question is, should I bring it along with all the supporting documents?
Thank you for your help.

Hi,
I was wondering how long you had to wait until you sent the AOS package and the time you had the interview scheduled at USCIS in California, specifically in Los Angeles.
Thank you for your help.

Well if you entered the country being inspected, there shouldn't any problem. Now you see whether it is better for you to apply for AOS in the US or in Canada.

Hi,
Well is her F-1 visa still valid? If so, she can leave the country freely before filing for AOS. After submiting it, it is possible to travel abroad but an authorization is required, and takes several months to be granted.
If her F-1 wouldn't be valid anymore, she could come back on a tourist visa, I don't think a K-1 would make sense since you guys are already married.

Thanks for your help. Anyone has already been in similar situation? I mean I know that only providing the latest year tax form is mandatory, but what is the USCIS going to check this?

Hi,
I recently got married to a US citizen, and we are currently filing the AOS paperwork. We have an issue regarding the affidavit of support i-864. The form states that it is needed to provide the W2 forms for the last 3 years My wife didn't file tax in 2007 and 2008, although she had to. She just thought her income wouldn't be enough for her to have to file. We are now working on filing the missed years. Do you know how long it is going to take for the IRS to process the taxes and be able to provide a transcript?
Thank you for your help.
