  1. From my experience with my wife's time Out of Status your open to trouble depending on who you get at the border. We had everything but the green card last time and they denied her because the Out of Status is not Forgiven until the Green Card is issued. However we did have the right travel forms and ok for her to leave, but the re-entry is up to the discretion of the agent you get coming back. If the Passport says to re-enter by April 20th, I would do it and then make plans to come back. You have a while anyway as it sounds like some of the forms are not going to be fast and it takes them months to do anything.

  2. Once he has been here for 2 weeks you go to the social security office and take the passport, any ID and birth certificate information and ask for a social security card. The K1 Visa is considered a Working Visa so they are, by their own rules and you can find that here also, supposed to give him one. Look on the site here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/44567-us-social-security-form/.

  3. I know, I know, there are surely steps to follow that were already answered but I still want to post this. :D I registered my email not my fiance's when I signed up in USCIS

so I got the email first that it was sent to him today :D

On January 31, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

:D They got our application on Aug 31 so it's exactly 5 months :D Good luck to everyone who are still waiting! :D Now what's next?

Sweet! us too, we are August 31st as well. YAY!!!!!

  4. The request by the lawyer is just to make it easy for them. A lot of them and the one I had chosen did the same. They ask for everything you will need the entire process up front, then they create the packets for you at that time. Then they file and wash their hands of it. Only to send the rest back to you at time of approval. They just don't want to have to deal with you very much during the process so they do this instead. Problem is it doesn't always work since you need fresh information and forms at the time of interview. You don't seem to be rolling in money. I would take some time and do it myself if I was you. There is more then enough help here to make it on your own. Don't waste your money with a lazy lawyer.

  5. Yea i have an alter ego for airports lol..

yea i always turn around and wave and cry and call out some lovey things lol and then he just leaves sometimes cuz he cant take it either and so when i turn around and he left i have a whole new nervous breakdown

I usually give a big hug and kiss to Ann then leave. I don't think I have ever looked back. Her brother took us one time and said something about me just leaving and not turning to say good bye. She told him that its just to hard for us both, if we don't just do it we won't be able to .

  6. Its not that you need to have any one specific thing to make this work. You need to simply supply enough stuff that someone who does not know you and whose job it is to be suspicious will believe in your intentions. Simply gather up all those little things with dates on them that you can. The visa copies in color simply show more effort and that can be rewarded also, a letter from a friend signed and dated is help, as is pictures and any receipt. If you truly want this, then spend 1 day to gather all you can, get a letter from a friend, write some info on the back of a few photos, run to CopyMax and make a few 20 cent copies or your passport and anything else with those dates and send it back. Its not rocket science to them, its just about going thru the steps.

  7. Looks like at least one person from August CSC got their NOA2. Saw it on Igor's list...Anyone else?

Been lurking here for the last couple weeks. Met my fiance for the third time at the end of November/early December and have been watching this site and USCIS like a hawk since. When we filed (NOA1: August 26) it looked like we were going to get our NOA2 in mid-November... disappointing this has dragged on so long. If we don't get it sometime in January I'll be thinking of flying to meet her again but not sure work/budget will allow for it that easily. It would be my 4th trip to Asia in a year.

I completely feel you here. It hard to keep pushing it off. I figure that if I buy a ticket and head that way, about the time I get there and off the plane I will get a text saying the Noa2 is approved. That means I would be back again in a month or so. Not really what I want to do. Hang in there is all I can say, same as all of us. Just think at least this time next year it will be a mute point and you will appreciate them that much more. I for one have learned that. I hug much harder now after all this. Good Holidays Everyone!
